Really good Chinese food! My friend and I stopped by a few weeks ago because we were craving Chinese food, and we were really happy with our experience! The customer service was amazing, the tables were super clean, and our water was constantly refilled. The pan-fried dumplings were so good--juicy and full of flavor! The steamed pork bun was delicious too. If you're craving good-quality Chinese food, definitely give this place a try! Just a heads-up: it can get pretty busy, so you may have to wait a bit.
Came here for XLB and noodle soup and it was good for the area. There aren't a lot of great Chinese food options in this area and I fully support this business, check it out if you are in Anaheim. It's in its own plaza with a lot of parking and the interior is bigger than it looks. All the dumplings are handmade and a must order here. Pork XLB: Plenty of soup inside and exactly what the kids were craving. Kurobata pork fried dumplings: I could not taste the difference with normal pork but comes with a nice baking soda skirt and served upside down. Still tasted good but not sure about the markup. House Special Noodle Beef Soup and Spicy Noodle Soup: Both had decent broth and toppings, the meat was well cooked and tender but the noodles were too overdone for what we like. Steamed shrimp and pork shumai: Used the same wrapper and the XLB, tasted great. Char Siu Steamed buns: Kids loved this and totally destroyed them.
I ordered my food on Door Dash as I was on my way to a friend's house. At the restaurant, I walked into their spacious dining room and went right up to the counter to grab my order. Their attendants were very polite and friendly. At my friend's house the dumplings were exactly as I imagined them: meaty, saucy, and just right amount of shrimp and pork inside each one to become filling. Those along with the egg fried rice, oniony green beans, and spring rolls were absolutely delicious. I can't wait to return for the spicy pork wontons I saw on the menu. 1st dumpling N noodle was an excellent place to stop by for dinner! It was a little busy, but the restaurant is pretty big and had plenty of seating. My cousin and I ordered the juicy pork soup dumplings, pan fried beef roll, fried cheese wontons, and chocolate mochi dumplings. The service was great! Our orders came out quickly and each dish was very tasty. The beef roll is pretty big, and flavorful. The veggies and the meat inside were delicious. It was a mix of fresh and savory. Next, the fried cheese wontons were hot and crispy. You could tell that they were freshly made. My favorite dish was the juicy pork soup dumplings. The broth was warm and comforting. I probably could've gone for another round of those. Instead, we ended our meal with a sweet treat. I wanted to try the chocolate mochi dumplings. Those were pretty good. They had a nice chew to them and I like the ooey gooey chocolate.
Solid spot for Chinese food/takeout! I'd come back to try more dishes. What we got this time: Pork chop fried rice: This was our favorite. Pork chop was really good. My hubby thought the fried rice could use more flavor but I liked it Chilli wonton with shrimp and pork: different from the Din Tai Fung one but still good Beef with green beans: good, classic but not a standout
The ambiance and setting is very nice. The lighting is great and the colors really come together. I came with a party of 5 and there was a large water polo team who came in right after us. Service slowed down a little bit due to the influx of customers, but overall they still worked quickly. The prices are quite affordable, but I think you really get what you pay for. The noodle soups were lacking flavor in my opinion. I had to had soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil to get significant flavor into my broth, even though I ordered the house special spicy beef soup. I tried my girlfriend's broth (she got the original beef noodle soup) and I felt the same way about the flavor. The dumplings were decent for the flavor. I would recommend focusing on the dumplings when you go here. Lastly, unfortunately the servers forgot our order of hot and sour soup and they also forgot to give us 3 out of 5 waters. 3/5 I would recommend if you love dumplings but don't expect to have your world rocked with flavor.
Really really delicious food! Sadly I was only able to take one photo because I got excited lol We ordered the fried rice, both steamed and fried pork dumplings, and siu mai dumplings. The server was incredibly nice and suggested we leave room for dessert and ordered the chocolate and mochi dumplings. So glad we took her advice! Just the perfect balance to end the meal!
A great alternative to always crowded Din Tai Fung and it's so close to me . Their parking lot is shared with a Tesla charging station so that's very convenient . I can charge and grab a bite. Ambience is nice and the restaurant is clean, there are remnants of the previous Ruby's diner. Service was attentive and friendly! The chili oil chicken wontons were my favorite. I ordered extra sauce because it was so delicious, I poured it on my Xiao long bao too. The Dandan noodles were good but I think I should've ordered the beef rice cake stir fry instead. For dessert, I got the fried sesame balls with red bean paste. They were perfectly fried and crispy outside and gooey soft inside like a mochi but I wish it had more red bean paste. I will def come back to try other dishes.
Here's my honest review! Food: Honey walnut shrimp 5/5. The shrimp was crunchy, with a bit of sweetness. I love it! Young Chow fried rice 3/5. The rice was dry and chewy. Kurobota pork & shrimp Xiao Long Bao 3/5. The meat filling was too small. Steam shrimp & Pork Siu Mai 3/5. The wrapper was so thick with a small filling Hot and sour soup 4/5. Egg drop soup 4/5. Service: 5/5. The food arrived at our table quickly. The only issue I have is that the person who served the soup almost dipped her finger in the soup. She should've placed the small bowl on a saucer to avoid her finger almost touching the soup. The price: fair and reasonable. Ambiance: the tables and chairs they added in the middle are overcrowded.
This place is really good! Was a ruby diner before and they converted to a dim sum / Chinese restaurant. The place is spacious with easy parking. Ordered to-go and was impressed overall. Paid around $70. The chicken wonton soup was a 10/10, chili oil chicken wontons 10/10, marinated cucumber salad 10/10, and the steamed beef and onion dumplings were also a 10/10. The fried cheese wontons were good as well, around a 7/10. The only item I wasn't a fan of was the house special chicken wings (3/10). When I cut into them, they were much pinker inside than I was comfortable with. They may have been fully cooked, but I didn't want to take the risk, so I threw them away. They also didn't seem very flavorful from what I could tell. Everything else was delicious. The customer service was decent, parking was easy, and the restaurant itself is very large inside. I ordered takeout this time, but I'd definitely like to dine in during a future visit. One thing I really appreciated was the variety of options for people who don't eat pork. That's not always easy to find, and they had plenty of choices. Overall, the food was excellent, and I'll be back to try more items from the menu. My true rating is 4.5
Maybe this is still the soft opening, waitress Lupita very nice. The manager I assume forgot half my order so I asked to cancel it. Said I never ordered it. Fox was decent priced moderate. I'll try a busier time maybe quicker service. Pots he chicken had an aftertaste.
Great food, especially the xiao long bao. We also ordered and liked the siu mai and house special fried rice. The fried cheese wonton isn't the best but it was okay, as well as the chicken with green bean although it felt like there was more green bean than chicken. The staff were also nice and accommodating. The interior was clean, spacious enough, and well lit. There's ample parking space available just outside the restaurant. We'd definitely be back.

AMAZINGG FOOD!!! We first started off with the MUST HAVE CUCUMBER SALAD the sauce that comes with it is amazing we had to get extra on the side . We got the pork XLB, spicy pork and cabbage boiled dumplings, spicy pork wonton, and spicy chicken wontons and the house special chow mein and lastly the chocolate XLB service is great everything came out quick!! 10/10 must try!!! read more

Second visit. On our first, we ordered din sum to go. It took a while, but it tasted fresh and was solid. The spicy wonton is really good. The sesame balls were right on. BBQ pork buns were okay. For our second visit, we ate in and the service was really good. Food came out quickly and tasted fresh. String beans were fantastic and the rice noodles with chicken was a solid dish. So why five stars? Okay, it's not Din Thai, but they don't have Din Thai prices. The restaurant is new and they have some kinks, but they have an overall good process that will get better over time. Also, the restaurant is located in the old Ruby's diner and I would like the place to be successful just for the sake of the beautiful building. If you want good food at a good price and dine in a really interesting building, you need to come here and try it out. You will not be disappointed. read more

Great service! It made the experience worthwhile. Our server forgot our Shu Mai but brought it eventually. It was good. The filling had the inconsistent texture of shrimp and pork that makes it authentic. Our beef chow mein was fine - nothing special but exactly as advertised. The drink prices (milk tea, iced tea. Etc) are low enough that I actually ordered one and it was excellent. Seriously, the service is so friendly and accommodating it makes we want to come back sooner rather than later. read more

We love visiting our new Chinese 1st Dumpling & Noodle Restaurant in Anaheim, CA. The food is fresh and delicious with lots of choices on the expansive menu. All your favorites are there. It was also noted that the service workers are very professional and anxious to make suggestions for first time guests as well as those returning guests. We had just finished a day on Disney and were craving some DTF. The wait times at DTF were long so I opted for 1st dumpling N noodle instead. The best idea I've had on my trip yet. This place is arguably BETTER than their large chain restaurant counterpart. Price and quality wise. The waitresses were very attentive and funny too. RC1. Beef Stir Fry Rice Cake The beef was soooo tender and the rice cakes are perfectly cooked and chewy. The entire dish was well seasoned. X1. Sakura Pork XLB Good dumpling skin and texture. We got the dumplings (boiled) and the N7. Noodles with scallion oil too. The noodles are cooked well and had a great bite to them. We will be back! read more
It is rare for me to walk out of a restaurant, but today was an exception. From the moment we were seated, we were not given menus for about 10 minutes until I asked for them. We placed our order and asked for a cup of ice for our water, but needed to ask again because we weren't given it. They served our pan fried dumplings without the rest of our order which included beef roll and vegetable egg rolls. As we waited, we noticed customers who came in after us getting their food before us. We cancelled the order and closed the check with the one item because it turned out our order wasn't being prepared. They are having a soft opening, so hopefully they will learn from the mistakes that happened here. The staff were friendly and apologetic - which is why this isn't a one star review. Unfortunately, I won't return because there are better restaurants closer to where I live. read more

The Thai tea was whatever, a lot of nearby spots that have better quality. The beef onion fried dumplings were ok. Maybe I'm used to the more Americanized version of dumplings lol. Will try the spot again and try some of the stir fried dishes. I'll update my rating at that point. Decent atmosphere. Staff were very respectful and nice. Will give it another go because of the nice people working there. read more

Everything was amazing! I'm already thinking about the next time I can come back. The service was fast and we got seated right away. Food came out within 5-10 minutes after ordering. It all had so much flavor. Lots of seating tables and booths. Staff is very friendly! I highly recommend coming here ! read more

came in during their soft opening and i was not disappointed! my boyfriend and i came in around 1pm on a monday and there were a few other tables but no wait! inside is very clean and spacious and the servers were very kind and attentive. we ended up wanting to try a little bit of everything so we got the pan fried beef roll, bbq pork fried rice, stir fried green beans, dan dan noodles, pan fried chicken and corn dumplings, and the pork chili oil wontons. it only took about 10-15 mins for everything to come out and it was all jam packed with flavor! i would definitely recommend trying this place out if you're ever in the area. i hope they get lots of service because their food is worth it! read more

We were very excited to try this new Dim Sum spot in Anaheim. Prices were fair and service was quick! Our server apologized for the wait but everything came out hot and fast! Loved the Mongolian beef, very flavorful and lots of meat to share. The green beans were fresh and crunchy. The wonton soup was okay for us, added some sauces and made it better for our taste but the wontons were huge and yummy! The fried rice was a large portion and the pork tender. The XLB was the highlight of course. We ordered the pork and shrimp XLB and couldn't wait to dig in. This is an authentic dim sum experience. Active kitchen and servers ready to get everything out quickly and efficiently. They've only been open a month, but we were pleased with our service and food. Interior was clean and nice seating seemed adequate for their space. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Was excited to try a new Chinese food restaurant that was close! Anaheim is truly lacking in great Chinese food.. was hoping this would fill the gap. Did it? Not really All in all I'd say the food was "fine". Not great. Not horrible The menu is huge. Dumplings. Noodle soup Dim sum. & Standard American/Chinese fair. We ordered salt and pepper pork chop. Not salty. Not crispy. Boney. Not spicy. "Fine" Won tons in chili oil. Pretty lack luster. The chili oil had a weirdly sweet quality to it. Dumplings were your standard won ton soup dumplings.very soft Beef roll- again. "Fine". It was probably the best thing of the dinner.. but Noodle st has theirs beat We ordered sparingly. Thinking we might order more. But decided to just stop there once we tried the dishes we ordered Service was fantastic. Really cheery and friendly. Fast too. One thing that I will call out... that damn bell the cook rings when a dish is ready to be picked up. It's loud and resonates through the dining room. It's pretty unpleasant Restaurant on the inside didn't change much from its Rubys days. And that's fine. It's clean and appealing So .. food. Three stars Service five stars Over all four stars. Came in during their soft opening last week since we needed a soup dumpling fix but didn't want to wait for a table at Din Tai Fung. We heard that this place was open from our neighborhood community group and was excited to come try it out. The restaurant is spacious and we were happy to see that several of the tables were already occupied since this place was just in soft opening. The service was so friendly and attentive. They were so nice. The food was great! We ordered the rice cakes, the xiao long bao, the spicy wontons, and the pan fried beef rolls. Everything was great and the food was tasty and fresh. If you're looking for a solid Chinese spot with good food and fast/friendly service...definitely come here. read more

Came during their soft opening. Restaurant is very large, bright, and clean. Good parking lot although the restaurant itself can be easy to miss the first time. Service is really great. Very kind, attentive. The food was pretty good! We got the pork chop fried rice (different from DTFs but still tasty) it's crispier with a thinner breading similar to popcorn chicken, the rice portion was a bit too bland for fried rice but we added soy sauce/vinegar and it was good. The shu mai also good, very fresh. Their chocolate XLB was okay for me, I wouldn't get it again. Compared to DTF, this version fell short. The chocolate was just too bitter for us and there was no cream or anything to help break up that bitterness. Their thai tea also was okay! Not sweet enough. Even the table next to us requested for a sweeter thai tea but they're not able to adjust it at all. Overall, enjoyed our experience and would come back to try other dishes. read more

We needed a good chinese restaurant in our neighborhood. Been there twice and food comes out hot and fresh. I like that you can see the chefs make the food and fresh dumplings. Dinner dishes dont come with rice but other than that food was amazing and staff was very attentive. Big portions read more
