Excellent food. Decently priced. As good as Din Ti Fung without a 90 minute wait. Service staff is nice. Very accommodating. I'm not impressed with the owner (thin older man) but the staff is nice. I heard the owner arguing with the tenants that live upstairs. They leave the door open after dumping trash and that can lead to vandalism or burglary. Not safe. read more

Don't be fooled. If you looked outside the business, it doesn't look like a whole lot. But this place was great. This business replaced a former Ruby's (RIP delicious shakes). I was impressed by how nice the inside was remodeled, and they were quite busy. Despite being busy, we were helped quickly and served quickly. We ordered the broccoli with garlic, steamed chicken and corn dumplings, and udon noodles with chicken. We also ordered strawberry teas. We found everything to be delicious and want to return soon to try more items. The menu can be a little overwhelming with all the options but it is nice to have all of those to choose from. Second visit. On our first, we ordered din sum to go. It took a while, but it tasted fresh and was solid. The spicy wonton is really good. The sesame balls were right on. BBQ pork buns were okay. For our second visit, we ate in and the service was really good. Food came out quickly and tasted fresh. String beans were fantastic and the rice noodles with chicken was a solid dish. So why five stars? Okay, it's not Din Thai, but they don't have Din Thai prices. The restaurant is new and they have some kinks, but they have an overall good process that will get better over time. Also, the restaurant is located in the old Ruby's diner and I would like the place to be successful just for the sake of the beautiful building. I'm so happy to find this gem near me! They just opened 3 months ago and food was absolutely delicious. Forget about din tai fung, come here for juicy XLB instead. We also got their pan fried buns 生煎包, chili oil wontons 紅油抄手, scallion pancake, spring rolls, and noodles. Every single dish was cooked perfectly (and I don't say this lightly since I grew up in Hong Kong!). I especially love their chili oil wonton because the dumpling skin is very bouncy. The XLB also doesn't have a thick top which makes the texture very soft and wonderful. Staff are very friendly and can speak Chinese. They gave us some free sesame balls since we ordered so much! It's also a big restaurant so it's very spacious. Decor is very nice too. Will definitely come back!!! read more

Kurobota pork & shrimp Xiao Long Bao 3/5. The meat filling was too small. Steam shrimp & Pork Siu Mai 3/5. The wrapper was so thick with a small filling Hot and sour soup 4/5. Egg drop soup 4/5. Service: 5/5. The food arrived at our table quickly. The only issue I have is that the person who served the soup almost dipped her finger in the soup. She should've placed the small bowl on a saucer to avoid her finger almost touching the soup. The price: fair and reasonable. This place is really good! Was a ruby diner before and they converted to a dim sum / Chinese restaurant. The place is spacious with easy parking. Shared the parking with a Tesla charging station so very convenient if you drive one. We got shrimp and pork sui mai, Pan fried dumplings, beef rolls and chili wonton. Ordered to-go and was impressed overall. Paid around $70. The chicken wonton soup was a 10/10, chili oil chicken wontons 10/10, marinated cucumber salad 10/10, and the steamed beef and onion dumplings were also a 10/10. The fried cheese wontons were good as well, around a 7/10. The only item I wasn't a fan of was the house special chicken wings (3/10). When I cut into them, they were much pinker inside than I was comfortable with. They may have been fully cooked, but I didn't want to take the risk, so I threw them away. They also didn't seem very flavorful from what I could tell. Everything else was delicious. The customer service was decent, parking was easy, and the restaurant itself is very large inside. I ordered takeout this time, but I'd definitely like to dine in during a future visit. One thing I really appreciated was the variety of options for people who don't eat pork. Great service! It made the experience worthwhile. Our server forgot our Shu Mai but brought it eventually. It was good. The filling had the inconsistent texture of shrimp and pork that makes it authentic. Our beef chow mein was fine - nothing special but exactly as advertised. The drink prices (milk tea, iced tea. The ambiance and setting is very nice. The lighting is great and the colors really come together. I came with a party of 5 and there was a large water polo team who came in right after us. Service slowed down a little bit due to the influx of customers, but overall they still worked quickly. The prices are quite affordable, but I think you really get what you pay for. The noodle soups were lacking flavor in my opinion. I had to had soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil to get significant flavor into my broth, even though I ordered the house special spicy beef soup. I tried my girlfriend's broth (she got the original beef noodle soup) and I felt the same way about the flavor. The dumplings were decent for the flavor. I would recommend focusing on the dumplings when you go here. They served our pan fried dumplings without the rest of our order which included beef roll and vegetable egg rolls. As we waited, we noticed customers who came in after us getting their food before us. We cancelled the order and closed the check with the one item because it turned out our order wasn't being prepared. They are having a soft opening, so hopefully they will learn from the mistakes that happened here. The staff were friendly and apologetic - which is why this isn't a one star review. Dumplings were your standard won ton soup dumplings.very soft Beef roll- again. "Fine". It was probably the best thing of the dinner.. but Noodle st has theirs beat We ordered sparingly. Thinking we might order more. But decided to just stop there once we tried the dishes we ordered Service was fantastic. Really cheery and friendly. Fast too. One thing that I will call out... that damn bell the cook rings when a dish is ready to be picked up. It's loud and resonates through the dining room. We heard that this place was open from our neighborhood community group and was excited to come try it out. The restaurant is spacious and we were happy to see that several of the tables were already occupied since this place was just in soft opening. The service was so friendly and attentive. Came during their soft opening. Restaurant is very large, bright, and clean. Good parking lot although the restaurant itself can be easy to miss the first time. Service is really great. Very kind, attentive. The food was pretty good! We got the pork chop fried rice (different from DTFs but still tasty) it's crispier with a thinner breading similar to popcorn chicken, the rice portion was a bit too bland for fried rice but we added soy sauce/vinegar and it was good. The shu mai also good, very fresh. Their chocolate XLB was okay for me, I wouldn't get it again. Compared to DTF, this version fell short. The chocolate was just too bitter for us and there was no cream or anything to help break up that bitterness. Their thai tea also was okay! Not sweet enough. Even the table next to us requested for a sweeter thai tea but they're not able to adjust it at all. Overall, enjoyed our experience and would come back to try other dishes. read more

I came here on the 5th day of opening. They didn't have a lot of people in when I visited. The service was amazing they checked in quiet frequently. They answered all my questions and gave us information on the food and some of its history. Was the food the best? For me it was comparable to DinTai Fung. The portions were great. Easy to share. The smoothies didn't have added coloring dyes. If it's a mango smoothie it's made with real mangos. I say check it out. I added a few photos of what we got. I hope this helps both you and the shop. Wow!! This restaurant is so good! What we loved: The ambiance is great. Giant TVs playing sports, however it feels like a nice family restaurant not a sports bar. It's also beautiful inside with the far wooden tables. The food is DELICIOUS. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big enough to share. The average price is about $15 a plate. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. The servers offered suggestions for the menu and even taught us how to combine the sauces to elevate the plates. Although I miss the Ruby's Diner that used to be here, I understand the need to change it up (Ruby's Diner had unfortunately closed in Old Town Orange and at it's newer location in downtown Brea). I appreciate dumplings and a larger menu of typical Chinese dishes and this place did not disappoint. Plenty of seating and staff and even a display window for kids to observe dumplings being made by hand. We sat in a booth facing two large TV screens so I assume watching sports events can be convenient. Although I didn't snap any photos this time because I came hungry and only had enough patience to eat, this might be my new favorite Chinese dim sum spot.
