The meat was good, while I didn't care for the soup. However, it's helpful that their latest menu has a warning about the hot soup. 4.5/5 Chili Oil Chicken Dumplings: Generally tasty, with the right amount of umami. I liked the slippery texture of the dumpling wrapper, a nice contrast to the meaty filling. The chili oil didn't have much flavor or a kick, but I enjoyed the dish nonetheless. 3.5/5 Sautéed Green Beans: This was also generally good, had some chili pepper and garlic for flavor, though perhaps not as crispy or blistered as I usually would like. There's a side dining room that's covered, but has an outdoor dining feel. Service was quick and efficient, servers/staff were all pleasant. Our food came to our table in a timely manner. The menu has many of the usual dishes (there's also a lunch special menu!), but we decided to focus on the dim sum offerings. We had quite the feast! Crab & beef XLB, shrimp siu mai, spicy shrimp wontons, pan fried veggie dumplings, and rounded it all off with chocolate XLB. Everything came out hot and fresh and tasty. The food here is similar to Din Tai Fung but all the meats are halal. While I'd say that slightly prefer Din Tai Fung, this is still a great option and everything I tried was delicious. Our party of 6 adults and 2 babies ordered cucumber salad, hot and sour soup, chicken XLB, pan fried beef buns, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, chicken fried rice, and vegetarian fried noodles. Portion sizes were good and this was more than enough food for everyone where we had leftovers. Service here was friendly and they'd check up on us often. The interior was bright, modern, and clean. I've tried the spicy chicken wontons, beef broccoli, beef pan fried dumplings, crab beef xiao long bao, chicken fried noodle, and shrimp fried rice. Honestly, they were all really good dishes but my favorites would be the spicy chicken wontons, shrimp fried rice, and crab beef xiao long bao. Everything comes out in a timely manner nice and hot. If you're not a huge fan of crab, just know you don't really taste it much in the crab beef xiao long bao. It mostly tastes like beef. The spicy chicken wontons are so delicious. They're steamy, flavorful, and are not too spicy imo. They were the best from what I tried! For drinks, I've tried the lychee green tea, lychee soda, mango smoothie, and Vietnamese iced coffee. The lychee green tea and soda are delicious and definitely taste like lychee. I just thought they were a bit too sweet. The mango smoothie was not good. It came out and it was so bright, almost like a highlighter color. Just by looking at it, we guessed it wouldn't taste too natural and we were right. It tasted like artificial overly sweet mango powder. The Vietnamese coffee was ok. It didn't blow me away but it wasn't bad either. What was a big con for me though was the customer service over the phone. I had called before going last Saturday and the man who picked up was very rude and short with me. I had called to ask if they take reservations, and he didn't even let me finish my question. He interrupted me and was about to hang up on me before I told him I hadn't finished asking my question. However, the customer service inside the restaurant in person was amazing! The servers were very welcoming, attentive, and friendly. It was just that experience over the phone that was unpleasant. We were told that they don't take reservations and when we arrived we just added our name to the waitlist and were called within a few minutes. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating areas. One huge pro for me is that their chairs outside are so comfy! They have cushions which are super comfortable. The staff aren't super friendly here and I did feel they could've cleaned the table and seats a little more between guests. I tried the vegetarian pan fried dumplings. They also give you vinegar and ginger with soy sauce and chilli oil. 9/10 Beef fried noodle is essentially chow mein, comparable to the chow mein I've grown up eating throughout my life. 6/10 Mongolian beef was okay - flavor was great but texture of the beef was kind of mushy 1/10 Chocolate Xiao Long Bao, this was actually very disappointing. The bad: We had to rush our meal to be able to get back to pick up my kid from school. The interesting: They missed a chance on calling this place Souper Dumpling! SHORT VERSION: Just had my 4th meal at Super Dumpling in the past 2 years... overall, this place is always a hit especially the pan fried beef dumplings and it's great to have halal option for dumplings. LONG VERSION: I have tried all the different dumplings and my favorite is always the pan fried beef dumplings - the meat and broth inside the dumpling has a unique sweet and savory flavor that is enhanced by the crispy bottom of the dumpling. All my friends and family who have joined me for meals are always most impressed with the fried dumplings so these are the must have item to try. My other favorites are the spicy chicken wontons which are always very flavorful. Other solid items to try would be the cucumber salad and the green beans (the fried dumplings and other items are usually pretty heavy so it's nice to round out the meal with at least one of these veggies). The rest of the Chinese food menu items (orange chicken, Mongolian beef, fried rice, noodles, etc) are all pretty standard and generally have been good quality and similar to other good Chinese restaurants I've been to. Restaurant is always super clean, bright, and can get busy with lines out the door on weekend evenings - but seeing people willing to wait up to 30 mins to eat here is always a good sign. Service is usually pretty fast and efficient even though the restaurant is packed - first time I ate there, server showed me how to eat the dumplings after releasing the steam so I wouldn't burn my whole mouth which was very helpful. We got cucumber salad, wonton soup, chicken xiao long bao, and chicken steamed dumplings. The cucumber salad was really good, wasn't spicy. The chili oil wasn't spicy either, a different version of malat spicy with just the malat spicy and not the numbing part. Service was alright. Everything else was alright, until... the chicken steamed dumplings... We wanted to order just one more dish and so we chose chicken steamed dumplings and it turned out to be raw... So the skin of the dumplings looked dry but we didn't think much of it cause it can be a differently style/texture. Then when you pick it up with chopsticks, it's like sticky a bit. We took a bite and it tasted okay but I wanted to see how it looks inside and that's when I saw it looks raw and we stopped eating and told a waiter. He apologized twice and told the kitchen and we got a new dish of it cooked. We were so paranoid so we cut each one in half before eating them. The bill was in full- no comp/discount for the raw situation. We still gave tip for the service cause it wasn't their fault of what happened in the kitchen. I would not be going back. It was the first I ever thought dumplings will raw and I now will check my dumplings, even xiao long baos in the future now cause of my paranoia from this experience. Luckily, we were okay rest of the night. And I heard a table was telling the staff how the cucumber salad is different and use to be bigger pieces and not so small ( they seemed to come and the staff said it could be a bad batch and proceeded to say something that sounded better that I can't remember. Super dumpling has been on my go to list for several months. I run errands frequently in this area but never made the time to stop by probably because its usually busy. Finally one day after shopping in the area, I decided to give them a call to do take out because they were busy. It took 3 attempts to get them to answer the phone and when someone did pick up the phone, they were rushing me to order online instead. I could barely get a question in. That was not great for someone who never dined with them and had questions about their food. Ordering online was fairly easy and they promised my food within 15 minutes. I wrapped up my errands and went over and indeed the food was ready and I was given extra sauce after asking for some. That was a good call because based on the portion, I was able to eat the items 2-3 times. I ordered the green beans, vegetable steamed dumplings, milk tea, and a side of rice. The green beans and dumplings were decent and portion was good for sharing. The milk tea was perfectly sweet but I believe they use fresh milk instead of nondairy creamer because there's a slight milk aftertaste which some people might not be a fan of, but overall its pretty good.
