This place must be crowded around the busy hours, i stopped by at noon weekday, there were not many people and i was seated right away. I don't remember this soup called in Vietnamese, but i chose the flat rice noodles instead of the yellow one. The broth is very flavorful and the oxtail is soft, they knew how to cook this pretty well. I like how the oxtail is not chewy. I would bring my family over for some dinner.
First time trying this dry egg noodle style Vietnamese cuisine. It was okay to me but I know this place is authentic and it just didn't hit for me but not because they didn't have good food. Just wasn't to my preferences but you should check them out still and decide for yourself.
My parents and I decided to check this place out, and it definitely delivered where it mattered most--the food. My dad is a huge dry noodle fanatic, and he absolutely loved it! The noodles were cooked perfectly with a great chewy texture. They leaned a little on the sweeter side, but they were still really tasty. The sủi cảo were THICCCCCK in the best way possible! The wrappers had a nice bite, and the filling was juicy with that signature bouncy texture. We ended up ordering three bowls of Mì Sủi Cảo Khô, and everyone cleaned their bowls. The food was solid, but the service was pretty much nonexistent. The staff wasn't very friendly or attentive, although that's honestly something I've come to expect at a lot of places in Westminster. One thing that really stood out, though, was the condiment station. The chili oil, fresh chilies, and sauces looked dirty, and after tables were cleaned, the serving spoons and sauce dishes weren't replaced. I actually had to grab them from another table myself. Overall, I'd come back for the food because it was genuinely good, but the service and overall atmosphere could definitely use some improvement.
I'm not sure why I had this place bookmarked. Maybe it was an Instagram or TikTok. I would say the food was pretty good. My granddaughter and I ordered oxtail pho & chicken wings. The chicken wings were phenomenal. We got all flats, which I'm not sure if they normally serve it like that. They were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and just enough seasoning. The broth was super tasty. The oxtail cooked well. The noodles were in my opinion too soft. That's fine, my granddaughter likes him a little soft. The service was service, not bad or good. It was a small place, felt a little chaotic. Would I go back, if I was in the area probably.
So good and so affordable. Each dish was around $15-18. They have 2 locations but I think this one specializes in their egg noodles. We got: Taiwanese soup noodle (5/5): new on the wall and wanted to try. Lots of good beef pieces in the soup, and not too heavy on the spice. Came with a vinegar dipping sauce Dry noodle combinations (5/5): we basically tried all of them. Perfect Al dente egg noodles with a clean broth on the side. Mine came with intestine, others had a fried chicken or dumplings which was really good and meaty. I like how all combos came with a sauce to accompany it Oxtail noodle soup (5/5): slightly spicy, very satisfying. Tender oxtail Overall so good and will be coming back! Small hidden gem with a "hole in the wall" vibe in the Asian Village right across from Asian Garden Mall - may God be with you finding parking on a weekend My dad suggested this place for lunch one day a few months ago and I came in with high expectations as his recommendation for Vietnamese food is essentially a seal of quality. Mai Phat still exceeded them! It has since become our go-to lunch spot, as well as a local favorite for my wife's family. They specialize in egg noodles - served either dry (with broth and main protein on the side) or wet like a conventional soup bowl. My personal go-to is the dry mì sủi cảo - egg noodles with sliced / ground pork, huge wonton dumplings, a shrimp cracker, and broth on the side. The wontons come in a super rich and delicious sauce that I actually got scolded for pouring over my noodles lol. The light and clear broth is very refreshing and well-seasoned. Excellent mix of perfectly balanced flavors from every component. Add chili crisp for extra oomph. My wife loves the mì gà quay - fried chicken leg & thigh with the signature egg noodles. This is honestly one of the most perfectly seasoned and cooked fried chicken I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of fried chicken. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive Highly recommend Mai Phat for hearty, expertly crafted, and relatively guilt free Vietnamese comfort food
If you're looking for a dish that hits every craving at once, let me introduce you to Mi Vit Quay (Kho): egg noodles tossed in a sweet and savory sauce, comforting broth, and crispy, fatty, perfectly tender duck. 10/10, I'd come back just for this dish alone! The experience doesn't stop at the food either. The server was super friendly, happy to give recommendations, and made everything feel easy and welcoming. Add in the fun decor and relaxed vibe, and it's the kind of spot you can bring anyone - family, friends, or just yourself when you want something tasty and satisfying!
I visited on a weekday afternoon so the place was not so packed. I was impressed with the broth, very authentic Chinese-Vietnamese noodle style. They gave a lof of toppings. I also like how they use fresh shrimp and pork for the dumplings filling. They were not greasy and the taste was great, not to savory, the pork was fresh. The service was great, I can tell they trained the staffs well. The dry noodle was -1 for me since the sauce was a little salty for my preference. I like that they included fish in part of the seafood toppings. Its rare to find a restaurant here that serve quality mì cá. Overall it was a pleasant experience at Mai Phat. They deserve all the hypes!
Wow. I am very impressed with this restaurant! I ordered their Mi Sui Cao Kho which is essentially their dry wonton noodles! The sauce is savory with a little bit of spiciness. Their wontons were nicely filled and the wonton wrapper was nice and thin, but not fall apart thin! I will come back to try other dishes!
Neighborhood viet nosh. Pretty good overall the oxtail was falling off the bone and broth and stew was yummy. In need of a good clean up in bath and resto though.
In honesty, the noodles are delicious, and the sauces they mix it is delicious. We ordered the dry noodles with wonton. The wontons are Huge with lots of juicy meat!! Prices are a bit on the high side and if you order the vietnamese dry noodles, the noodles they give is such a small portion. We always order extra noodles which is $4 more. So $20 for a bowl of egg dry noodles with 5 huge meaty wontons. Vietnamese food use to be the most cheapest Asian foods before covid times. Sadly now $20 is average. :-(
This place is located in a very busy shopping center. Delicious food! Service was quick and I got the oxtail spicy soup. It is a very earthy strong flavor and comes with some chewy egg noodle. Two of these bowls cost a total of 35 including tip. Really reasonable.
-Dumplings with noodles, dry $15.99- chunky dumplings, so much meat, loved it! -House special pan fried noodle $15.99- tasty yummy delicious! My family enjoyed our dining experience here. Definitely will be back when we are in town.
Mai Phat Noodle House is one of those places that does simple food really well. I ordered the dry wonton noodle with BBQ pork and a side of steamed wontons. The noodles had a great chewy texture, and the star of the dish was definitely the sauce. It had that classic Vietnamese-Cantonese flavor, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, coating every bite of noodles without being too heavy. The BBQ pork was quite dry, the wontons were generously filled, and the soup on the side was clean and comforting. The steamed wontons with soy sauce were also delicious and packed with flavor. An unassuming spot with incredible flavors! The seafood fried noodle dish had flat chewy noodles and a mild sauce that complemented the veggies and seafood well. The house special beef noodles seemed to have a mala flavor and was hearty and refreshing. The oxtail soup has a comforting and hearty flavor. Service was as expected for a local favorite. I never noticed this place even though I frequent this busy plaza often, but decided to try it out as I came across it on Yelp. We ordered the mi sui cao and mi thap cam. I personally enjoyed the mi thap cam- the assortment of toppings blended together well and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I also tried the sui cao and it was soft and flavorful. My only suggestion for improvement would be the cleanliness: as soon as we walked in, there seemed to be a stench in the right dining area where we were seated. It smelled the same in the bathroom. Been hearing good things about this restaurant so I'm glad I got to stop by. Came by during a weekday lunch and surprised it was not too crowded. For drinks I got: Cafe sua da - good flavor and strong Soda chanh - refreshing and light We ordered the dry noodles with dumplings, house special noodles, fried chicken with rice, and house special fried rice. Their egg noodles are freshly made and cooked nicely to have a bouncy texture. My favorite forsure is the dry noodles with the steamed dumplings. I came her with my mom and we shared the mì sủi cáo sò điệp and the Mì Thập Cẩm with broth on the side. Both noodle dishes were alright; however, the meat isn't very juicy and I was a bit disappointed since it was quite tough. It felt like they just threw the noodles and everything together so the flavors were not cohesive together. I also wished they added more lettuce in the noodles. I did like the dumpling flavors along with the sauce it came in. Overall, pretty decent Vietnamese noodle eatery but a few small tweaks could really elevate the dish! read more

Came here for lunch. This place is located in a busy plaza so parking can get tight during peak hours. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. I got a thai tea to drink and dry noodles with dumpling for entrees. Thai Tea- The tea flavor is strong with just the right amount of sweetness. Quite refreshing! Dry Noodles with Dumpling- This is a delicious and filling meal that comes in three parts. You get a savory broth seasoned with herbs and spices. You also get dry noodles with soy sauce and a litte sweetness at the end, finished with a crispy shrimp cracker. Finally, you get juicy and flavorful shrimp dumplings. Definitely come hungry. Definitely try this Vietnamese noodle restaurant. The food was flavorful and satisfying and a good value for the price. We had the Ox tail soup, the broth was amazing; the duck soup, very moist meat; and the shrimp and pork dumplings with the dry noodles also delicious. The food came out quickly and the staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean and the furniture was in good condition. Although this restaurant can get busy, there were plenty of open tables at 8pm Saturday night. I would definitely return and would recommend. read more

If you're looking for noodle soup, this is the place for you. It's located in a big plaza with lots of parking spaces. There is ample seating. The servers are attentive and friendly. We came on a week night and there was no wait. We love how the food came out very fast. Our Noodle Soup were both delicious. We felt the soup was flavorful (not too salty). The egg noodles were cooked perfectly. You can order your noodles to be served dry or with soup. Good portions and loved the big shrimp chip! Came by on Sunday night for dinner and it wasn't too busy and we were seated quickly as a party of 3. I ordered the mi thap cam and enjoyed it but I think I may be used to the flavor of the local restaurant that serves mi back at home. Service was quick and fast. I have heard good things about Mai Phat Noodle House before, so my family decided to finally checked them out for dinner. Mai Phat Noodle House located in the front corner of the popular plaza across from Asian Garden Mall. My family went on a Sunday night, so there was a small wait, but service and food came out really fast! What we ordered: Mì Vịt Tiềm - the herbal broth was so flavorful! The duck was tender and full of flavor, and HUGE! Mì Sủi Cảo Khô - the noodles cook perfectly and the seasoning was just right and not too salty! The sủi cảo was stuffed with so much pork and shrimp fillings! Mì Đuôi Bò Trùng Khánh - the oxtails were cooked to tender! The broth is flavorful with numbing sichuan pepper seasoning. Cơm Bò Lúc Lắc - this dish was alright. Nothing too stand out! Recommend sticking to their noodles dishes, as that is what they known for! Came here for lunch after church, we were all hungry and wanted something good for our bellies. We arrived and we seated, it was busy however the wait time wasn't bad at all. Service is great and efficient here, we got our orders fairly quickly and it tasted great. I had the dry egg noodles w bbq pork, soup on the side. The broth was amazing, light and you can taste the chicken flavor in it. They give you a good amount of noodles too. This restaurant gets busy however it is definitely worth the wait. So be a little patient. Parking gets packed here, just drive around until you find a spot.. food was delicious! read more

My friend found this restaurant because she loves egg noodles and this place makes their egg noodles in house. We came with ~10 friends, and we were able to get a large table with everyone seated together. We came on a Saturday night, and by the time we came, they were already out of their most popular dish (oxtail noodle soup). I will 100% come back just to try their oxtail noodle soup, but I opted for the duck noodle soup and the meat was really tender and delicious. My broth was on the lighter end, but with the slightly heavier egg noodles, it was the perfect combination. I actually really loved my friend's spicy noodle soup (I'm not entirely sure which dish it was), and it reminded me of a better beef noodle soup. It's a super flavorful Viet spot that hits the spot whether you're tryna get a noodle soup or a dry bowl. No frills inside but food is worth it mi bo kho: Get it's a super rich and savory dish. the beef is really tender and combined with the noodles and broth, it's just so comforting and satisfying. mi sui cao kho: get packed with so much flavor.. the dry style makes everything taste even more concentrated. If you like wontons and noodles, this one is definitely a must get honestly feels like you can't mess up here. Probably can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It just depends whether you're into something more brothy or dry. Beef or seafood. Noodly or not haha. just ask for what their best sellers are and they gotchu. Hubby found this little gem and took the family to try it. It was a short wait before we got seated. The restaurant was busy and bubbling with laughter and conversation and good food. Solid noodle spot in Westminster! Came in on a Sunday around 10am and the place was already almost full, clearly a local favorite! The servers were super attentive and kind, and the restaurant had that cozy mom-and-pop shop feel. For the noodle dishes, you can choose between noodle soup or dry noodles with sauce (with the the soup broth on the side). I personally preferred the dry noodle dishes--they come with a flavorful sauce mixed in, and you still get that cozy, hot soup broth on the side. Best of both worlds! Here's what we ordered: -House Special with noodle soup (3.5/5): the menu didn't list what came in it, so we took a chance. It had meatballs, intestines, (I think liver), shrimp, and ground meat. The broth was delicious and comforting, but I'd skip this one if you're a picky eater. -Dumpling with dry noodle (5/5): my favorite! The dumplings were tasty, its sauce was slightly sweet and perfect for dipping the noodles into. The broth on the side tied it all together. -Deep fried duck with dry noodle (4/5): the duck was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired really well with the noodles and the sauce. My brother was in the area last Thanksgiving because we were interested in a nearby BBQ shop that offered fried turkey. We were smart about it and decided on trying their regular offerings of roast pork and duck instead. Long story short, he came home and RAVED about the locations. He decided that this weekend, we were going to Westminster. Honestly, we didn't know what to look for, and our trusty Yelp app suggested Mai Phat Noodle House as we wanted something different from pho. We arrived around 11 AM and were seated promptly. The interior was very clean and with windows facing outwards, letting natural sunlight in. The front of the store was lined with Bearbrick figurines that reminded my wife of BTS' RM. We ordered deep-fried dumplings (for the kids), house special with dry noodle, BBQ pork fried rice, and oxtail with noodle soup. The oxtail soup came out first, and the broth was simply delicious and slightly numbing (made with Szechuan pepper corns). The portion size was generous with three large pieces of oxtail. The dumplings were stuffed with shrimp and fried to a perfectly crisp texture. The house special dry noodles were also fried and paired with a clean soup base to wet the palate. The fried rice had hefty portions of meat to the point where it was more BBQ pork than rice. The definite star of the show was the oxtail though. read more

Had the Mì Gà Quay and it was really good. The chicken was nice and crispy, and the noodles were tasty. Service was quick, and since I went on a Friday in the early afternoon, it wasn't busy at all. I'd definitely come back. read more

I'm actually still thinking about this place. We went to Mai Phat Mi Gia and ordered SO much food, mi sui cao, crispy sui cao, dry sui cao, and somehow everything was amazing. No misses at all. One of the most memorable dishes was the beef stew soup (I wish I remembered the exact name). They give you this little ramekin of salt and pepper to dip the meat in and it was so simple but SO good. That alone had me sold. But honestly... the drinks stole the show. Double matcha latte, peach lemongrass orange tea, house coffee with cream cheese, guava soda! YUM! All super unique and so refreshing. You don't see drinks like this everywhere. If you saw my reactions you'd understand -- I was literally dancing and nodding the whole time. That's how you know it's good. If you're in OC near Westminster, you need to try this spot. I'd come back for everything, but especially those drinks. read more

Parking difficult on weekends I got the tom tuoi mi kho Lots of shrimp - 6 big ones Noodles were perfect and chewy Sauce paired well with it They didnt give us any veggies though and by the time we finished - we realized we had to verbally request it cause the neighboring tables did that Tables and chairs were visibly dirty with food crumbs and it was sticky even though we came when it first opened Music was played way too loud Probably would not return here even though the food was great read more
