Proceed with Caution -- Worst Rental Experience I've Ever Had Out of many years of renting across different states and cities, this has truly been the worst nightmare of an experience. I do not recommend Clearcreek Water to anyone considering making this location home. From the beginning, there were constant red flags. The person now acting as "the head" of this property is cruel, dismissive, and unprofessional, often behaving as though she has a personal issue with tenants. Heal that, "ma'am".. Her demeanor made the environment feel hostile and unwelcoming--definitely not a good fit nor look for residential leadership. For context, I've lived at other 1st Lake communities and never had an issue until I came here. Complaints from myself and other tenants about loud music, suspicious visitors, dog feces all around the complex, and even strangers knocking on doors were routinely ignored. Even more concerning, weed smoke in the buildings was never addressed, despite repeated complaints. Contrary to being told that "weed is in", there are definitely complexes that enforce NO SMOKING or one may face eviction --to add, for someone with asthma, I was forced to use a prescribed (Dec '24) ventilator nightly just to breathe--this alone should have warranted urgent attention, but it never did. At move-out, my family and movers discovered visible mold on the air vents, which I later found had already been reported in previous online reviews. It was disturbing to see that this issue has been repeatedly overlooked. To top it off, I confirmed my final rent payment amount in advance--both in person and via email well ahead of move out --yet I later found out there was a mysterious, unexplained charge added to my account. I was also contacted by clearcreek for a forwarding address which was written on the move out notice, that I HAVE A COPY OF .. Cindy Hart is the Regional Vice President. Please consider THIS your warning: save yourself the stress, health risk, and frustration. & remember this, "head person", you will never win when you play dirty--shame on you. I had a very disappointing experience with this apartment complex. When I moved out, I was charged for "damages" that I did not cause. There was no fair explanation or proof provided, yet I was still held financially responsible. On top of that, I was charged $1,700 just to break my lease, which felt excessive and unfair given the circumstances. The move-out process felt more like a money grab than a reasonable or professional procedure. Communication was poor, and concerns were dismissed instead of addressed. I would recommend considering other places to live. I had many challenges renting with First Lake. The problems ranged from unprofessional staff members to sanitation issues on numerous occasions. I had to request pest control multiple times a year throughout my leasing terms, as my apartment was infested with small roaches due to unsanitary conditions at the complex. The managers were slow to resolve these issues. Additionally, there were multiple instances where my air conditioning stopped working, which is very inconvenient given the warm climate year-round. HORRIBLE experience! The Lafreniere has terrible management, over the course of 4 years there's been 3 different property managers. Decided to transfer to a bigger property & was slapped with almost 2,000$ of (damage) when have the damage was already there ! Tried explaining to the new manager what my fiancé & I discussed with the previous manager and she dismissed everything I said. They charge an arm & a leg for these 1800 year old buildings with poor construction, also after having pest control come more than 3 times, roach infestation & rodents coming behind stove ! I would not recommend 1st Lake Properties because while I lived their I had a noisy downstairs neighbor. At least three times a week I heard a loud banging on my ceiling. I did not exercise or otherwise make noise to deserve this. Also, I always listened to audio on my headphones. Further, the 1st Lake staff will talk nicely to you so you give them grace if they make a mistake, but they will not give you the same grace when you make a mistake. I applied for an apartment in February of 2026 @ Severn Pointe. I paid my admin fee and deposit on 2/16. That same day they told me I had been denied and would be getting a refund. As of today 4/8/2026, I am still waiting on a refund. Ashlyn Hastings is the point of contact and she seems to be completely clueless. Even though I was denied, I frequently get messages with surveys asking me how was move in, how is the apartment, how is the community. Obviously, they don't talk to each other or clueless Ashlyn didn't do her job correctly. I have went up to the corporate office and asked what should I do and the result of giving them my info was a phone call from who ... that's right Ashlyn and not surprised she had no information. I lived in Two different properties owned by them. Botb had dated appliances and things broken upon move in. They fix it and go about their days. I've had leaks, mold in the apartment, and pests. After finishing my nightmare lease, they then tried to charge 1000 for old carpet that they had in their apartment when I moved in. 1st Lake Properties - Full of mold !!! Rats and horrible customer service when you report this issues - Property Management Near Me - Metairie, Louisiana

I moved into 2100 Sawmill Rd# Apt 13-203 on September 1, 2022, at which time I requested and was denied a physical walkthrough of the property with the leasing agent. The Leasing agent informed me that it is 1st Lake's policy not to perform a walkthrough with the tenant. The agent then provided me with a move-in checklist to complete within 72 hours. I finished and returned the Checklist on September 2 within 24 hours. Unfortunately, management did not remediate any issues on the Checklist. On January 15, I emailed 1st Lake notice that I would terminate my lease effective February 15. The rent for February was paid in full, and my apartment was leased and occupied on March 1. On March 10, I received an invoice from 1st Lake Properties with charges of 5,027.61. Charges included: $2,904-Rent $350 -Security Deposit $1,632.27 - Flooring Repair $25 Sheetrock $37.70 Discard Items $73.64 Bathroom Mirror Replacement $5 Photo Documentation A. Rent On February 1, I paid the entire month's rent of $1,452, although I moved out on February 15. Therefore, 1st Lake should have credited me with the $726 already paid for the entire month of February. I was also billed for two additional months of rent when another tenant leased the property on March 1, 2023. B. Security Deposit 1st Lake charged me an additional $350 for Security Deposit. 1st Lake's Collections Agent said this resulted from the non-payment of rent. See A above. Rent was paid for the entire month of February, and the property was leased and occupied on March 1, 2023. C. Flooring Repairs I was charged 1,632.27 to replace the laminate tile for the kitchen and dining room area for one laminate tile. When I requested evidence, I was given a picture of a 1st Lake employee placing their finger under one tile. The front of the tile was not damaged, but the bond from the glue was compromised underneath the tile by a 1st Lake employee. In the documents provided, you will also see I document existing issues with the tile upon move-in. D. Sheetrock I did hang pictures, but it is my right to do so as a tenant. The nail holes were small and should be classified as ordinary enjoyment. E. Discard Items I thoroughly cleaned the rental unit before turning in my keys. The evidence included photos of 1 cough drop, 1 hanger, cleaning solution, and fly swatter. I admit to overlooking these items; however, I do not believe the charge is reasonable. F. Bathroom Mirror Replacement On the Checklist provided, I noted the missing medicine cabinet. The front office staff told me that the cabinet was on backorder. I periodically checked with the office about the cabinet and was repeatedly told it was on backorder. How is it possible to damage something I never received? G. Photo Documentation I did agree to pay for photo documentation. On February 15, I requested the 1st Lake Office Staff to perform an Exit Walkthrough with me. Randy L'Hoste with 1st Lake Properties is aware of the extensive damage to my previous apartment in Cypress Creek in River Ridge. The damage originally occurred during Hurricane Ida-over 6 months ago- but grew progressively worse. I sent numerous pictures and video to Mr. L'Hoste showing the water that ran down my walls and onto my floor-AND BED-when it rained. His response was silence, other than one email, claiming that 'someone will be in touch' with me, which never happened. I had to take the initiative to find another apartment and then apply for a transfer to another 1st Lake property. I was then told that I needed to move in 3 days. THREE. DAYS. I made it clear that someone with a full-time job couldn't pack an entire apartment in 3 days and was eventually given more time. The problem isn't the office or leasing managers at the various complexes of 1st Lake Properties. I've been treated well overall by the ladies who work in the offices. It's 1st Lake Properties' corporate mindset that is at fault here. There was no concern for the conditions I described. The carpet was damaged by a leaky AC unit but the manager knew it and did not take it out of our deposit. I can not even begin to describe what an absolute awful experience living in a 1st Lake Property has been and I would urge anyone with everything in me to look elsewhere. Every neighbor I've talked to has had issues with them. And once I even mentioned to a maintenance man how I hate it here and it's been the worst living experience I've ever had and the maintenance man himself said he hates it, too. I'm going to start with today. Right now, as I write this, I am sitting on the floor in a soaking wet apartment. The walls have soaked through. The carpet's soaked. Everything is torn apart. The walls in the closet got so soppy wet that the shelf collapsed and all my clothes are soaked. They came in and took a tarp I had down on the floor, ripped it, and along with it put the blankets and towels I had down and threw them in the shower to do a shoddy job sucking some of the water up. The tub is full of paint chips from the ceiling. So I can't shower. I can't do all this laundry in the tiny washer and dryer -- an enormous amount that is now still collapsed and soaked on the floor. It's going to take a ton of time. There has been lost wages today. And we have nowhere to go. They told us all they can offer is some furnished corporate room but...the caveat...my two little 5 pound dogs can't go. And I'm from Michigan here for school and don't have family or anyone I know around. They said they can't pay for a hotel. But yes. They can. We're struggling people during a pandemic and they are a multi millionaire if not billionaire company and are handsomely insured. A hotel is not going to hurt them. Now let's talk about the carpet. The carpet was awful when we moved in. The quickly done vacuum lines (I soon after found an old pink painted toenail) went down after we moved in and it became apparent how bad it was. Stains everywhere, likely from a prior pet's waste. We begged and begged for new carpet. Eventually they made us pay for a chunk to get their damaged awful unsanitary carpet replaced. Now the carpet they had us pay for is ruined from the flooding. Their faulty gate damaged my unpaid for financed new car. They came and took photos and said their insurance company would take care of it. This was a while ago now. Nothing has been done. Old documents have been found behind the dirty water heater. But what's even more disgusting is I pulled out the fridge to clean after we moved in and there was at least 12 years of filth. Because caked in with this filth was a 2007 calendar. Gross. I've kept the pictures. I'm a writer and fully intend on publishing this experience since they do nothing to recompense this awful situation. One month, we split the payment online. It went through. The next month, we did the same thing. It claimed to have gone through. Several days later, we got an eviction notice and a penalty fee. We told them we paid the rent online and it said it went through. They said the system rejected it because there was a new rule that tenants couldn't pay with two cards online. So we weren't notified of the new rule, weren't notified that the system rejected our payment, but were slapped with eviction papers. Had to call the courts and were still forced to pay the penalty fee even though, to our knowledge, we had paid on time. All of the appliances are old. The fridge is broken inside. The cupboards are peeling. I once found human feces in the parking lot. It often smells of mold. A group of kids hang out by the mailboxes and smoke weed. I once told the office they were just chilling outside by my door. I was told by the lady she was on her way. Nobody ever came. They spent a large amount of time making noise out there and eventually left on their own accord. My neighbor asked if they live here. They don't. They just come from elsewhere to block your doors and mailbox and make noise and smoke weed. The lease was 18 months. Everyone drops their jaw when I tell them this and say it's unheard of. If you don't sign on with the 18 month lease, their already overpriced horrible places they clearly don't keep up with are far more expensive. And if you're not out by the end of said lease, it automatically moves into an 18 month lease. If you need maintenance, they do not allow you the courtesy of a day or time. It's totally random, so you don't know if you can shower, go to the bathroom, work if you work at home, or do any number of personal things because you don't know when they'll come knocking. Or not. I had one person almost walk on in at one point when I wasn't ready. And that's only the short end of it. I wish I could post the awful videos of the flooding today. And they won't do anything about it. So we can't shower or do laundry or anything. And a bunch of property is damaged. Including a $700 projector. Whatever you do, look elsewhere. It's a headache. So I lived in Camelot Court for 12 years. When I moved in the property manager was excellent. Unfortunately they change property managers so often I can't even remember all their names. Anyhow, I recently moved out and like every person that has reviewed has said, they are keeping my security deposit put want $262.51 for "carpet pet damage". I have attempted to argue that the life expectancy of the carpet is past due and I should not owe anything and should actually get some of my deposit refunded. I was a long time consistent paying tenant. I put up With numerous roof leaking issues, AC malfunctions, AC leaking down into the lower level of the unit for 2 months with holes poked in the ceiling to allow drainage as it was leaking down the inner walls even. I dealt with declining ground maintenance to the point that the back yard was full of sand spur and nettles and I had to treat it myself or not walk in my yard. Dealt with rodent infestation and when I reported it they claimed it "was to be expected." I have posted video on Facebook of my dog chasing down and killing rats! I dealt with wildly fluctuating water bills because they would use my outside faucet without my permission when I was not home. One year they did do a "complimentary paint" but they hired a crew of most likely undocumented Hispanics who didn't speak English and then told me the painters said there was feces on the walls! When I told my kids they thought it was hilarious and said "new house rule-no shitting on the walls. Sad thing was my unit was often picked for certain inspection requests since I kept my unit clean. I went 3 months waiting for her to correct the problem she did NOTHING!!!!! I decided to call corporate and give my notice to move, they left me with a broken garbage disposal, 2 kitchen drawers they said parts were on order to make them functional for over 4 months. The whole experience was one lie after another my mailbox never closed properly so it was always unlocked. The week I was packing I called the General Manager of 1st lake to my apartment and showed her the broken kitchen appliances, MY BROKEN COMPUTER AND THE BILL FOR THE NEW COMPUTER. This is mostly for Windmill Creek North in Metairie, but I think it's important for everyone to read about 1st Lake properties and their crummy business practices. I just received my deposit check back in the mail from living here for over a year and to be complete honest, it is an insult and a slap in the face. The deposit check is only for $113. In the letter attached, it claims that they detected urine on the carpets and that is why I'm not getting my full deposit back. There is absolutely no way my cats peed anywhere besides their litter box. How anyone can in live in an apartment with cat pee on the carpets is beyond my comprehension so this claim is ridiculous to me. (Also, I talked to a friend who knew someone who was told the same thing by a 1st Lake property...this person didn't even own a pet!! So obviously they do this on a regular basis.) There is a laundry list of things that went wrong while we were tenants of Windmill Creek. I decided to keep my mouth shut about most of these offenses as to not be "that tenant" or more bothersome to the staff. 1. We had the ceiling in our apartment leak not once or twice, but FOUR times. It first leaked two days before we were to move in. This was in the bedroom. there was then another rather large leak once again the bedroom a few months ago. This happened on the weekend and there was a considerable amount of damage to the ceiling. We had to throw out a few items of ours that were in the bedroom as well. It required us to move all of our furniture into the small dining room and live like that for about a week until it was fixed. The third leak was in the dining room near the fan. This leak was also creating water stains on the ceiling in the kitchen. Again, it took a couple days to fix this. A fourth leak was with our air conditioning unit. On a final visit from the maintenance staff, they had to cut slits into the wall to let water out. This was never repaired fully. 2. We first vacuumed about 2 days after moving into the apartment. Every time we vacuumed (about 1-2x a week) or every week or so, new weird stains were appearing in the carpet. We have no idea where these stains came from and they were definitely NOT cat urine. Again, to not be a pest, I didn't report this. I figured it was a usual occurrence on a cheap carpet in an apartment complex. 3. My one cat started to develop patches of fur loss while in the apartment. We just went to the vet and discovered that he has fleas. My indoor only cat NEVER had fleas before living in your apartment complex. We speculate that they were there due to the fact that the downstairs neighbors that moved out in our last few months were absolutely disgusting people that had multiple animals. Their apartment did smell like urine and we believe that after they moved out, all of the bugs began to show up in our (and I'm assuming other) apartments. This included the fleas as well as roaches. 4. There were multiple times that we had to deal with rude, inconsiderate neighbors. New Years Eve I got in a small verbal altercation with a neighbor who was illegally lighting fireworks above the pool (where our apartment was). There were also times when people would be jumping in the pool and playing loud music at 4am waking us up. I don't even believe that these people were residents in the complex. We were told that there would be security that would be randomly at the complex at night and I didn't see them once. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT rent here, especially if you have pets. They will take your deposit because they know you won't be able to prove your points. They know it isn't worth lawyers getting involved. You will lose out. read more

The Good: I've lived at 1st Lake's Bella Ridge property for over a year and a half now. The location is great! It's close to the mall, the airport, and it's a quick trip to anywhere in the city. The dog park was nice for your pet to relieve themselves off-leash with a couple benches to sit and wait. The dog loving "Bella Bark" community here is great if you love dogs. The very tall ceilings, crown molding, and granite are wonderful features. The Bad: Don't expect to walk anywhere as it is not pedestrian friendly. The gates are constantly broken and only provide a false sense of security. There are no cameras for the property except the front desk, the swimming pool, and the gym, which I find pointless and creepy as it's not for your safety. The gym is ok for the occasional quick workout but don't expect to do anything serious. As far as noise is concerned, when it rains, the kink in the gutter was loud enough to put you out of the house as it's extremely disturbing. I could clearly hear just about everything my neighbors did with no real difference from a cheap motel, but that's apartment living I suppose. The extra kitchen space would have been great for cooking, but without a proper vent, cooking makes the whole place fill with smoke as the fan just pushes it into the living area. The electric stove is standard for a cheap extended stay and the dishwasher is small but does an adequate job. The washer and dryer look to be made by the lowest bidder as the washer will ruin your clothes putting holes in your favorite digs. I honestly have lost enough clothes to that washer to pay for a better one. Without parking assignments most, people just park on the 2nd floor. Some residents have claimed spots and will mess with your car if you take "her spot". The pool is too small to swim laps and the lights don't come on in the evening, as they never were during my entire 2 summer stay. If you have children, there's not much for them at this complex except the pool. Choice internet here is AT&T or Cox. Meh, take your pick, they are both terrible. The staff is rude, robotic, and seems to take joy in demanding residents pay extra fees not covered nor required by the lease. They mean to hustle you out of your hard-earned money. Final Thoughts: I have now lived in both the worst of 1st Lake's Properties (Turtle Creek) and their best most luxurious property (Bella Ridge). Heed my words of wisdom, if you do move in. They use makeup to hide a cracks and marks in the granite that wouldn't be noticed until you thoroughly clean the place. I cleaned before my check-in sheet was filled out for this reason. Don't lean on the counters either they may not be secured properly allowing the granite to flex and potentially break leaving you to pay damages at a markup. They also will attempt to scam you by misinforming residents of the fees and costs, so do your due diligence and read that lease or have a lawyer look it over. Or, better yet, save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. All things considered, my experience has been standard for 1st Lake, "Hot garbage and by no means luxury". 1st Lake holds true to its values of a well-polished turd makes for easy money as suckers pay extra fees. I've stayed in better government funded barracks. Which, I'm told is built by and maintained by the lowest bidder. P.S. The vomit in the stairwell has been there for over 6 months and the rotting possum corpse behind the bushes is starting to smell. Literally, they put a roach in my lease I have photos. read more

I lived in a 'corporate' apartment at Boardwalk (on W. Napoleon off Cleary in Metairie) for 6 months while working for East Jefferson General Hospital. The digs were pretty basic - older building, older appliances - and the space was acceptable. The service at the rental office is okay, they're not overly helpful or efficient but they get the job done. I wouldn't necessarily highly recommend this place, but the price is fair for what you get. Plus, I have pretty fond memories of my time spend in NOLA and Metairie so that always helps while I write the reviews. Beware: The locations boast a swimming pool, but I wouldn't count on swimming there unless you have all your shots. Even then, I'd take some precautions. read more

If I could give this corporation zero Stars I would. I am currently living in a 1st lake property, Breckinridge in Metairie. I am charged extra for a "gated community" which the gate is not working at least half the time. I work 2nd shift and there is never any parking when I get home from work even though I'm paying nearly $1,000 a month in rent and supposed to have 2 parking spots. On December 28 the gate malfunctioned and hit my brand new car, I filled out an accident report and they said I'd be hearing from their insurance company to get it fixed. It's been well over a month and I haven't even received one phone call regarding my car. I've called the office twice and each time they say they'll send out an email or give them a call. I got an email back from the manager saying they are trying to contact me but that she doesn't have a contact number to give me, I'll probably end up having to take them to a small claims court in order to get the money to fix my car. In addition, they bamboozled an extra $800 out of me upon moving in by moving up my Original move in date by 3 weeks and saying the paper they gave me when I signed my security deposit was just a "suggested move in date subject to change" and threatened to keep my $850 security deposit and give away my Townhome to another renter if I didn't move in sooner. At the time they had already rented out my current apt so I had nowhere else to go and was forced to eat the extra $800 in pro-rated cost vs. losing $850 and having to find another place to live in less than 3 weeks. I even talked to the VP of 1st lake properties about this issue, She was very unsympathetic and said she would tell her employees to explain their policies better next time. NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. They care nothing about their tenants or their tenants property. I'll be moving out as soon as my lease is up and cannot wait. I only been living at the Spring Brook properties located in Baton Rouge,LA since the middle of February. I been having issues since I moved in. I had to file 2 police reports, Maintenace still has not fix anything, and from the looks of it, my work orders are being deleted but good thing I screen shot them. I have an 8-year-old daughter and I feel that my apartment is not safe. I have paid rent on time since i been here. Rent is over $1000 so yes I expect everything to work properly and to be treated like a respected resident here! I want out of my lease and just don't know how to go about doing so. read more

AVOID 1ST LAKE!! This is long, but worth the read. My husband and I have been paying rent on an empty apartment at Oak Creek since December 2019. As soon as we knew we were leaving (early December), we went several times to the office to tell them we were moving out and asked "is there ANYTHING else we need to do or any document we need to sign"? With smiles, the front desk person, who was new, told us, "no, you are all good to go!". I'm thinking, great, we pay our last month of rent in February and we are all set. In early January (January 9th), my husband's dad tragically and suddenly passed away and he had to go to Nepal (where he is from) for 5 weeks. My Husband was the one whom normally dealt with the apartment so I took over for the weeks he was gone. When I go to pay our last month of rent on February 3rd, I am told that our lease was automatically renewed. "Sorry, we need a written notice! You now need to now buy out of the lease, 'skip out', or continue paying for the next 6 months!". We had repeatedly been to the office and asked if we needed to do anything and were told an emphatic 'NO'. Apparently you need to go only on the 30th day prior to move out AND ask SPECIFICALLY for the 30th day notice document. An already terrible month was now made a nightmare by this. I was told to email the General Manger, Randall 'Randy' L'Host. I sent him an extensive email, with some hope that maybe he would understand our situation and just let us leave at the end of our contract. Nope. He did not care. Literally the day my husband returns from Nepal (Feb 10th), we go to the office to discuss our options with manger Hailey Tizzard. While in the office, in an attempt to throw us a bone, she decides to change our new 30 day notice date to January 29th rather than February 10th. Why was no written document needed this time AND she changed the date as she pleased??? This saved us a couple hundred dollars, but WHY couldn't this have been done originally and saved us thousands of dollars?? Why couldn't she have helped us out with our original 30 day notice date in that case?? They do as they please, say what they want with no repercussion yet tenants are always told "Too bad, we don't care!!". They will make it as difficult as possible to get out of your lease because it means more $$$$ for them. We are only dollar signs to be taken advantage of. read more

I have lived in First Lake properties since 2009. Let me just say, I can't wait for our lease to end. The first one was as close to ghetto as you could get without being there. You couldn't use the stove without opening the refrigerator. It smelled and the "gate" rarely worked. We moved to Frenchman's Creek after that one. More money, but bigger also. Everything was good until Hurricane Issac came through. I ended up with cracks along my ceiling and nails coming through in my kitchen. It took my bathroom ceiling falling in (twice) for them to "patch" these things. Fast forward to 6 weeks ago. My washer stopped spinning. So I call them. Since then I've had them "fixing" this washer. I hate the laundry mat and pay extra to not have to go there. But my washer still is broken. Don't move into a First Lake property. They care more about how it looks rather than if things are working. read more

I was going to start this review by covering all of the issues with this apartment, however, something more interesting came up.... They returned the majority of my security deposit, but then they put a stop order on the check! That's right, I actually received a deposit refund. However, after I complained about what they withheld, they sent me angry emails and put a stop order on the check in retaliation! It took multiple threats of contacting law enforcement to get them to send a replacement check. However, if that's not enough to make you run, see below for a list of issues I had with my apartment at Sawmill: 1. Mice. They ate all of the food in my pantry (yes it was all sealed in bags) 4 times while I lived here, pest control wasn't able to do much and maintenance told me it's to be expected 2. Lots of roaches, spiders, various bugs. My morning routine became walking my dog then picking up all of the dead roaches and clearing the mouse traps from the night 3. Bees on the deck. For my first summer maintenance told me there was nothing they could do about the several wasp's nests making my deck unusable 4. The apartment was never spot painted before I moved in as promised, and never over the 15 months I lived there 5. The carpet was dirty and never cleaned before I moved in (at least they didn't bill me for it when I moved out!!) 6. The windows were all so dirty/broken/rusted they didn't even open 7. Water leaked in from above the windows that didn't open when it rained. I notified the landlord of this and they didn't really care, and then mold started to grow from it 8. Half of the entire apartment is slanted, probably by 10 or 15 degrees at the end. There was a noticeable drop in the middle and the rest of the apartment was slanted, sinking downward 9. Because the apartment was sideways, the dishwasher was sideways and leaked water when I run it. I had to leave a large bowl under one corner to stop my kitchen floor from flooding 10. The washer was so old and loud that I got a headache from using it, even if I was upstairs 11. When it rains the parking lot floods with raw sewage. Yup. And then it kind of sits there for a few days after as it slowly dries 12. Dogs poop everywhere and the owners leave it. Get ready to step in poop daily 13. Dogs poop and pee ON THE STAIRS leading to apartments. Nope, management doesn't care enough to even respond to emails about it 14. There is a good bit of crime and police activity at night, you can walk around and watch drug deals at night. I'm fairly certain I even saw some prostitution....... 15. The AC is useless. I was in a two-story, two bedroom, and my AC unit was the same as what they put in one bedroom units that are half the size. I was lucky to get the upstairs below 90 degrees on hot days 16. The agents will lie to you, in writing. First Lake will refuse to stand by what the agent says. Even if it's in writing and you show them the email chain. 17. They attempt to modify the lease, doing things such as introducing new fees, through simple notices left on the door. What First Lake doesn't seem to understand or care about is that modifying a contract (the lease) must be done in writing and agreed upon by both parties, not simply by leaving a notice on the door when they decide they want more money. Their overall attitude seems to be that they do whatever to with no respect for what's morally or legally right. If this wasn't already obvious enough, if you're reading this I suggest you run while you still can. read more

The management team at Severn Pointe is abysmal. For the past four days, my AC hasn't been working. Since then, maintence has came every single day to try and fix it, and it breaks again. They put a portable on my living room, but none in my bedroom. So I've had to sleep on my couch in my own apt I pay rent for. I have pictures showing the temp of my apt to be 89 degrees. When I called the manager on duty, she told me that since I had a portable, "I was doing better than most people." Her name was Dina, or Dyna, and she hung up on me. Um, I pay rent to live in a barely decent apt and she thinks having a portable AC in my living room is fine, even when the entire apt is 89 degrees? Do. Not. Live. At. Any. Of. These.
