When I was looking for an apartment, I wanted a place close enough to New Orleans's Central Business District (CBD) because that's where I work but far enough from the crime and drama of New Orleans. Citrus Creek Apartment West came up among many. I chose this apartment complex because of word of mouth reviews. I work for one of the biggest companies in the world and it turns out many of my colleagues have stayed here at one time or the other and they all gave Citrus Creek West five stars. I went with their recommendation and I have never regretted it. I have renewed my lease four times now because they just keep getting better. Let me list some specific things I love about this amazing place: 1. Proximity to New Orleans - French Quarters, CBD, City Park, Audobon Zoo etc are between 15 - 20 minutes away. Even on bad traffic days, which are rare, it's never taken me more than 30 minutes to get back from the CBD. 2. Walkability. You can survive without a car! There are restaurants, coffee shops, and many other stores within walking distance. The Post Office is within walking distance as well. I've not tried to walk it before but even Walmart isn't too far. It's walkable if you have the time. 3. Fitness. There is a 24-hr fitness center within the complex. Again, you don't have to drive to the gym. You can just walk there and it's open round the clock! The fitness center has the basics. Unless you are an Olympic athlete or an NFL player, the fitness center is OK. There's also a 1.6 mile walking trail that wraps around the apartment complex. I am lazy but seeing people on the walking trail motivates me to do a few laps a couple of times a week. I attribute my being in shape - I'm handsome and athletic - to staying here because the place kinda forces you to be physically active. Oh, the aesthetics of the lawn and general surrounding too has its own salubrious effects. (NOTE: "Fitness" alone should make you try out this place. Your health will receive a boost.) 4. Management. I have talked about the hardware - proximity to work, walkability, fitness center, beautiful lawns and buildings. Let me end my review by talking about the software - the management process that brings all these together. The manager, Tiffany, is great. Tiffany is the best of an impressive cast of managers I have seen come and go in the few years I have spent here. She and her two wonderful office staff are responsive, caring and the best housing professionals I have ever met. I recommend Citrus Creek West apartments without reservation. read more

Maintenance takes forever if ever. Put in a pest control service and to reseal the weatherstripping on the front door awhile ago. Still have never come out. So I appreciate all the lizards that quite literally slide through the front door. The wasps that I find INSIDE everyday and I don't know how they get in. I think it's through the ac vents so if you like wasps in your apartment then this is the place for you. I also have to spray them and run every time I go outside because every door on every level has a nest on it :). The AC units sucks, your apartment will not stay cool, pack a couple fans and superb blackout curtains. Last but not least the dumpsters, it sucks that the community can't seem to put their trash inside of the dump. Also the dump by the entrance gives any and every body the opportunity to dump their stuff in it. It would probably be less messy if it were behind the gated community. The only perk is that it has been a quiet complex so far. I can't wait until I never have to deal with this again. I can't deal with the lizards, wasps inside of the unit and lack of urgency when it comes to maintenance requests. read more

Maintenance is a joke!! Repeated maintenance orders for the SAME issue. No updates unless you call the leasing office. There is no way it cost $1607 a month to live here. Rent was due today, you give them your money & they don't do ANYTHING IN A TIMELY FASHION! WET CARPET soaking wet MULTIPLE TIMES due to a leaking AC... leasing agent (Veronica) act like it's your issue & you're overacting. Dryer has broken MULTIPLE TIMES, no solid solution. The laundromat charges $8 to wash & about another $8 to dry 1 load(multiple cycles to dry--only runs for 17 minutes at at time) WHY WOULD I WANT TO PAY ANOTHER COMPANY TO DRY CLOTHES WHENEVER I PAY FOR A WASHER & DRYER MONTHLY. I recommended this apartment complex to my friend moving into town.. that has been rescinded. OVER IT. DO NOT MOVE HERE. (Mind you I live in a "premier" building) & don't ask me to contact y'all! I was a resident for 2 years until a new resident moved in next door. After just a month the police were called out 3 times for domestic violence. There was screaming almost every night for 2 weeks from 11pm to midnight. The staff said they couldn't help me because the aggressor wasn't a resident. I asked to leave because another resident made death threats at another resident next door to me. I showed the staff the video of the threats and physical violence in front of my door and the staff refused to hear me out. The best they said was look at moving to another first lake. In the end, I had to pay 2 months of rent in order for me to leave. read more

TLDR: Overpriced, nothing works, and TERRIBLE communication from management. For a single person with 2 animals, a 1 bed 1 bath on the third floor after the service charge and credit card fee will run you $1485. That's almost $1500 a month for one person. What does almost $1500/month get you? Gates that are always open because they're always broken. You have to take your trash, put it in your vehicle, and drive it to the dumpster which is almost always overflowing with garbage. You might pass up some busted trash bags or empty boxes along the way. A fitness center with three working machines and a few free weights. It gets you access to "emergency maintenance" that doesn't actually get sent out after hours. It gets you access to "courtesy patrol" that tells you to call 9-1-1 for a neighbor that's been raging in anger from the hours of 9pm-8am (yes). It gets you a dishwasher that the top shelf always pulls the whole thing out and it took them three months to fix because the multiple repair tickets never went through and you have to call the office multiple times to have it addressed. And then your dryer breaks not long after. And then your air conditioning breaks too and they make you sleep in your own sweat until it can get fixed. It gets you molded vents. It gets you a pool you can't use in the summer because it's green. It gets you a fridge that gets stuck because the gasket is like suctioning the door in, and doesn't even open without you having to hold the fridge in place. The drain to the sink has to be screwed on every so often, and the garbage disposal cover fell in despite regular cleaning and maintenance. I had to edit to add because I nearly forgot that the smoke detector had to be replaced as well. It also goes off "due to proximity" every time I cook despite having cleaned the burners thoroughly and the inside of the stove. So I have to unplug the smoke detector just to cook. I have never had to do that anywhere. Everything inside of the apartment is just cheap, except for--oh--the fancy granite countertops. If you have a 9-5 forget trying to get ahold of the office before you go in, because rarely people are actually in at 8:30 when you need to talk to someone. And if you try to call the phones conveniently aren't available to take your call, but emergency maintenance is? This place is a total rip off for single people. I don't recommend it to anyone and have turned away people who asked me about it. I totally understand what I sound like when I have to call these people and voice my frustrations, and I am truly sorry for that! But it should be illegal to charge this much and have this many problems. At best it is just pitiful. I literally come home to sleep at this point and get ready for work and nothing else. I'm just waiting for the next major cheap appliance to break. read more

I'm here to tell you the real deal about the complex. The property managers are professional gaslighters with any issue you have in your apartment. They have roaches and termite problems. I added pictures of the termites in my kitchen. Oh, for the termites, they just sent a email saying "turn your lights off between 7pm - 9pm". The exit gate is always broken, which depending on your building location, leaving the complex or going to the dumpster is extremely inconvenient. Pretty sure it's unsafe to only have ONE entrance/exit for such a huge complex. When I say the gate is always broken I mean for months at a time. It just got fixed this week (May 2024) and had been broken for 2 months prior; this happens on and off regularly. The AC unit goes out frequently, ours has been out at least 6 times in the last 2.5 years. And it always takes a week or so to fix, so imagine no AC in your apartment for a week while living in the south. They just sent emails (which I added below) suggesting only to keep your thermostat on 75-78 in the summer. I've never lived ANYWHERE that suggested anything close to that, sounds like they know their AC units are subpar and this is the mediocre advice they have to offer. To have your house at 78 degrees during the summer in Louisiana sounds insane, I would never even set the AC in my car to 75 degrees in the summer but I guess I should have different expectations for my apartment according to management!! Instead of them actually ensuring their apartments have adequate AC units. Think to yourself, is there any place of business, restaurant, etc where you would be comfortable with the AC on 78 degrees when it's 90+ outside? So if you're okay with your house never being cooler than 75-78 degrees in the middle of the summer along with the other problems listed then this is the place for you. read more

These people put an eviction on my record. Never have I been evicted from anyplace...ever. Not only is it not true, it's embarrassing for my potential residence to tell me that I have an eviction on my record. The people and service here was so bad that I just couldn't take it any longer. Even still, I left their apartment like new. It was actually cleaner than when I moved in... I was in talks with their corporate general manager Cindy whom I though could help me out of my very unhappy situation, she told me to put in writing that they could rent out my apartment. I did that, they rented it out. Knowing that I would not be there to receive an eviction notice, they evicted me knowing that I would not have notice to defend myself. When I was made aware of my reletting fees (fees for them having to put the apartment back on the market) and other fees, I paid them right away. Even though the balance is in the negative (I no longer owe them) the eviction stands. How DISHONEST and down right MEAN to FILE AN EVICTION THAT NEVER HAPPENED. I was a good tenant...never late on rent might I add and was just very unhappy and displeased with the service for the amount of rent that I was paying. Cindy even came to my apartment and pretended she wanted to help me get out of this situation because she knew how unhappy I was there. I did not trust them so Cindy and I's phone calls are recorded along with the voice recording of her at my apartment telling me the proper steps to take...which I did. A great place to live. The complex has a gym, a walking path, pools and garden areas. I live in a two bedroom apartment home, and it's adequate. Maintenance staff are great, and in an emergency, they will be there. Rental office staff and management are friendly. But like any place, they are busy, and when you have a problem you feel YOUR problem should come first. So I've learned to have patience. On down side, and in my apartment area, is parking. If you go out to dinner or a social event and come back after 9 pm, expect to have some difficulty with parking in front of your building. Location is a big advantage of living at Citrus Creeks West. Less than 5 minutes away is a multiplex theater, a shopping complex, an urgent care center for minor health issues and the Mississippi River. The river has a bicycling and walking path on the level that stretches for miles. read more

My roommate and I lived in Citrus Creek West a little over a year. The apartment itself was nice but the appliances are very old and outdated. Our air conditioning broke about 6 months in. Never was the issue really fixed. They kept fixing small things instead of fixing what was internally wrong. My roommate and I literally had to put in maintenance requests every single month because the problem was never solved. This was very annoying considering the fact that we both work night shift so we sleep during the day. We also had 2 SNAKES in the apartment, one in my bathroom and one in my bedroom. Both times i had to kill/get out myself because I couldn't get anyone out to kill it. Management never had any sympathy and finally after the 2nd snake, they decided to come throw some moth balls out which i could've did myself. Lack of parking was also an issue around my building. They would allow other vehicles to illegally park, but we (2 young girls) were told that we had to park at the back of the complex and walk to our apartment. Rent was way to expensive to deal with issues we had. When we decided not to renew our lease, office staff was rude like we were the problem. You're better off homeless than living here. My whole experience was a nightmare. Appliances are old and outdated my washing machine caught on fire. Dishwasher broke, repairs took forever. Had a leak above my toilet and couldn't use it instead of sending out maintenance they told me I should get a hotel for the night I said no I'll just piss in my sink which is BS. I paid 1000 a month for a 1 bdrm defiantly not worth it don't let the grounds reel you in. They left raw sewage that leaked out of a pipe in front of my apartment building for well over a week it smelled awful complained multiple times no one did anything. They even painted my dog while she was out on the patio I guess they didn't think to check if pets are out there so that was a cost that I had to incur she had to be shaved. I let her out on the patio for a half hour every morning so she could soak up the sun. You think they could have knocked on my door since i was in the back room. They also manage to paint all of my edible plants tomatoes and bell peppers completely running them they said they would reimburse me but never did. read more

The staff are friendly and attentive. It is nearby to major roads and stores, making it convenient for getting to work and shopping. My family and I have been residents of Citrus Creek West for a few months now. I recently had an issue that I needed help with with while my husband was working. I literally had the entire Citrus Creek West apt office staff as well as maintenace working double time to have my problem resolved. I don't have family or many friends close by and it was so amazing how this team came together to help me!! Very professional, courteous, and kind.
