I have mixed feelings bout Northwest Energy Systems (NES). I used them 3 times, once to install a…read morewater heater (great experience; original review), a second time to repair a gas leak (things went terribly wrong), a third time to investigate this oily burnt foul smell in the kitchen (dissatisfied). PROS + Most of the people at NES are nice. Chris in Sales is professional and easy to work with. Dan, the own, went out of his way to make things right when my gas leak repair went REALLY bad. CONS - When I had a gas leak in the garage, this one technician misdiagnosed and replaced a gas pipe that was not leaking. A few hours after the technician left, I called them to ask to send the technician back as I was still smelling gas in the garage. The receptionist REFUSED to send him back because she did not believe I was still smelling gas. As it turned out, the technician had replaced a line that was not leaking. After spending several hours, the technician finally located where it's really leaking. Unfortunately, this is not the end of my ordeal. They put a temporary hookup so that I can at least use the water heater before they can fix the leak on a later day. Then, the temporary hookup leaked! It was after hours, but I called NES and left a message for the on-call person. I ended up having to call the Cascade Natural Gas emergency line as I did not receive a call back, and Cascade Natural Gas shut off my main gas line. Because of the misdiagnosis and the failure to respond to my after-hour request, Dan, the owner, gave me his personal cell number in case I have difficulty reaching them. - The same technician was sent to my house a couple days ago when I requested to investigate the foul smell I noticed in the kitchen. Ok, the previous time, he was reluctant to investigate the issue any further as he thought he had fixed the leak. This time as well, he was reluctant to do anything. First thing he said was "I don't know what to tell you." So, I asked him to at least check for a gas leak. 10 minutes later he left, and I received a bill for $92.40 ($85 trip charge plus tax). As I requested a service call, I did pay (the entire bill), but I expressed to the office my concerns about this technician's unwillingness to help me TWICE. I am not even calling this technician incompetent, but it's a waste of money at least if he's not willing to help his customers. The office promised me to send someone else in the future. It is my Yelp review policy not to name names to avoid "public shaming." However, if you're considering to hire NES and want to know which technician I'm talking about, please PM me. My old '99 van's window had gotten smashed on Tuesday morning, so I started calling around for a replacement estimate, and 1st Choice gave me the best price, even though it was a special-order window due to my van being so old.. Amazingly, my window was replaced just a couple days later, on Friday; and it wasn't an easy install.. during the process, it was discovered that the pre-existing dent on the door had bent the support rods on the interior of the door a little... but he was able to deal with it so well that the window now works perfectly- and here's the thing: even though that surprise damage lengthened the repair time, the price didn't change, and as someone who had to scrape the barrel for money to pay for the repair to begin with, I'm beyond grateful for that kindness! Dry Guys Restoration and Optimus Property Solutions have left…read moreus physically sick, financially devastated (over $10,000 lost), and displaced from our home -- twice. We moved into our apartment in late October 2024 and almost immediately found severe water damage, black mold, and extreme humidity. The discoveries spiraled into CAT3 mold, major water damage, and rotted sills/studs in the wall, despite property management claiming the apartment to be mold free, leak free, clean, and inspected prior to moving in. Dry Guys "inspected" the unit on November 8, 2024 -- and 170 days later, the repairs are still incomplete. I warned both companies about my autoimmune disease, epilepsy, and health sensitivities to mold -- but they ignored it. I ended up hospitalized during this ordeal. Dry Guys' workmanship was horrific: * Flooring was incorrectly installed with gaps sloppily filled with caulk. * Countertops were installed chipped and left sticky with residue. * Plumbing failed repeatedly -- the garbage disposal didn't work, the sink leaked, the faucet wasn't installed correctly. * They built the countertop too short, then shaved down the support beam to force fit our dishwasher (likely compromising its stability). * Containment was a joke: the barriers failed repeatedly, letting dust and spores spread through our entire apartment. During the restoration process, the subfloor was left exposed, we had no access to our kitchen for months, and temperatures dropped during winter -- yet neither company declared the unit uninhabitable, even when it legally was. Kashia from Optimus Property Solutions told us they couldn't do anymore than refund rent and some cleaning fees, stating, "the owner has put thousands and thousands of dollars into repairs" -- while the owner publicly bragged on Instagram about turning a $400k purchase into a $1 million valuation on our complex. His website bio even highlights how he became a millionaire at 32. Clearly, protecting profits mattered more than protecting tenant safety. After a "alleged" second leak surfaced, the companies ignored us again -- refusing to open walls, ignoring dripping sounds and mold smells, and brushing off standing water beneath the apartment. We were told, there's no leak, not our problem -- while condensation puddled on our windows, the smell once again destroyed our items, our clothing grew wet inside drawers, and puddles gathered under our apartment. In short: * Dry Guys Restoration's work was rushed, unsafe, and incomplete. *Dry Guys left a complete mess behind that I'm still cleaning up to this day, and wouldn't properly fix the work they had poorly executed. They refunded $294, which I had to fight for, it took forever to get the check, and doesn't begin to cover for our time, emotional distress, sickness, or damages. * Optimus Property Solutions protected profits over tenant health and legal responsibilities. * We were left sick, homeless, financially drained, and traumatized while the "alleged" leak is still in our apartment and NO ONE is taking responsibility or trying to fix it. Avoid these companies at all costs if you care about your health, safety, or sanity. *Will update with any changes* *This post reflects my personal experience and opinions*

FG Roofing put new vents into our roof to fix an issue before we closed on our first house. Several…read moremonths later another contractor pointed out an issue that they thought may be related to the vents. I called up FG Roofing and they came out that very same day free of charge (while it was raining) to double check their work. The issue ended up being very minor and unrelated to the vents. Regardless, I asked them to send me a quote in case we want to get it taken care of in the future. They're clearly honest, humble, and hardworking and I will be sure to give them a call next time my roof needs fixing!
