These guys call themselves certified Microsoft & Sony Techs What a joke They provide cheap temporary fixes on PS3 and XBOX 360's experiencing the Red light, Yellow light, no video etc etc I was looking for a real technician to perform a REBALL on my PS3 and XBOX 360, I figured Hey these guys are CERTIFIED Microsoft & Sony Techs, they should be able to fix my Xbox 360 and PS3 the right way by doing a REBALL.. Unfortunately these guys either are to lazy to reball, or dont know how, although they claim to have all these special machines in their back room... I guess they havent figured out how to use it completely? A REBALL is the closest thing to a permanent fix on the 360 and PS3.. many Game repair shops around LA County provide these services, while its certainly a bit more expensive, its worth it if you plan on keeping your game console long term I'm not just writing a 1 star just because they don't offer reballs, I previously had my PS3 fixed here, 90 day warranty, what do you know it failed on the 92nd day. Came back hoping they would be cool about it and honor it but of course they said i had to pay more... I asked at the time if they do REBALLING... and they said YES it takes a couple of days... I figured I would come back and get it done if my PS3 takes a crap again... well of course it did take a crap.... I decided to call before I came in just to get an idea how long the REBALL process would take.... the guy I spoke to (same guy that helped me) said they DO NOT do REBALLING... Are you kidding me? I was in there a few months ago and you guys said you did.. It is now clear to me these so called CERTIFIED Microsoft & Sony techs.. .are outsourcing their reballing to a real professional... when they do feel like it of course... No wonder they told me it would be $120 for a reball the first time i asked.. I should have known they were outsourcing it... Repairs & Mods charges $80 for a REBALL... and they get it done in under 24 hours... If i would have known about Repairs & Mods I never would have come here... Great service from those guys, and they actually know what their doing, When you walk into 1UP your greeted by this stoner looking mexican thug kid, its no wonder they do all their repairs in the back room where no one can see!! read more

Came here b/c my son's Xbox was not working and heard that these guys were the best repair place in the area and also saw this place when I was driving through downtown Covina This store is a great addition to the downtown Covina area, I am able to get my hair done, and my husband and son have a great place to visit to suit their interests as well! I came in with my son to get his xbox 360 repaired and the owner was very courteous and thorough with his explanation of how they would be evaluating the problem and the overall repair process. We left the machine w/ the repair guys and came back the next day w/ my husband. When we came back to pick up the fixed xbox my husband was nonetheless in complete awe of all the new and used games they had. They had games that dated back to when we were kids and also the latest new releases and they were all priced very reasonably compared to the other chains. Of course we left the store with a couple of classic retro games for my husband, a few new games for my son and a fixed xbox! (looks like they fix other consoles too, ps3, etc...) I been coming to this place for years man and the owner has always been chill . I came in today and chopped it up with owner and we were talking and I gotta say the dude is just as cool as he was years ago. Joey you rule dude don't let these cry babies bother you . After eating pizza I decided to check this place out since its next door . Al I can say is wow . Super clean place with crazy amount of games . I would say they literally have every game and system made lol. Really cool spot. The guy working there was super chill. He kinda gave me a little lesson on what's going on with retro games . Had no idea they were so popular . ! I didnt think I would buy something but after playing their Nes demo setup I couldn't resist . Walked out with a retro 2 that plays Nes and snes . Probably the most stacked game store in socal. The instagram is constantly posting trade ins daily and sealed games for everything from ps2 to switch come in every Friday. I've been a coming here for about 7 years now it's nice to see the store expanding their inventory into Collectables. My first experience with the store was bringing in a sega cdx for repair I had purchased off offer up. I had taken it to two different technicians and was said to be in repairable. The tech here ended up getting it fixed for me. Since then I've gotten my controllers repaired here for my Xbox one and my discs resurfaced from time to time. read more

Great selection of video games, great people, and modest pricing. What else could you ask for? The shop also has a coin-op Super Street Fighter IV cabinet inside. I ended up purchasing a copy of Yoshi's Story for the 64 for my girlfriend for less than it would have cost if I had bought it online, and the game works great. I will be returning for all of my vintage video game needs, as well as dropping by to get a quick round of Street Fighter in. These guys are goofy. They take in less valuable crap like outdated games and consoles but pass on modern shit like ps5 controllers and games. I even attempted to sell newer ps4 games a couple months ago but they still passed on them, yet they take in GameCube, wii, ps2, 360 games. I had a neutral experience at this store. While browsing, I wasn't offered assistance, but there were associates around if I needed help. I ended up buying a game, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a fake cartridge. I wasn't informed about this at the time of purchase, which was disappointing. The original store would not make a trade or negotiate until I came to the 1UP Videogame store. They have great service, trade, and negotiations. they are really cool people. they're knowledgeable about how to repair your video game station and have very reasonable prices. they unfortunately were'nt able to repair my ps3 because of motherboard issues, but they also did'nt charge me to assess the problem. definitely going to go back to buy some reasonably price used games. read more
