Cute little restaurant with a nice helpful patient server! It was our first time eating there and he answered all our questions. They didn't have horchata so I was a little sad. We started with chips and queso (no pico) and we ate every drop of queso! I ordered birria tacos and my husband ordered the tortas. My Birria tacos were spot on (crazy hot/ fresh) and his torta was HUGE! Not very often does he not eat all his food and he had to bring half home. Sad that I am just now discovering this place and it's been around 8 years (5 years at the current location) and it's so close to where I live. This hole in the wall touched my heart! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and so glad I did. The service was warm and friendly! I ordered the enchiladas verdes and despite them looking beautiful, they were missing the verde sauce. Don't get me wrong. It had the sauce, but it just didn't have enough sauce . Beef (bistec) quesadilla plate and Al pastor nachos. (A little under $25). Quoted us 15 min. We were 6 min out. Order was ready in ten. Nachos. Are. FIREEEEEEEE. Anytime I want some, I'm coming back. (8.5/10). I didn't eat them until ten min later, though, so I know it would be a little higher. Quesadillas--- it didn't come with rice and beans. Bummer. I ordered the "plate" but maybe that doesn't mean rice/beans here. Or maybe he misheard. (Quesadillas are a 8/10, per my friend.) Had a taco plate with barbacoa, Pastor, and chicharron tacos, rice, beans, and a horchata to drink. The horchata was one of the most flavorful I have had. The tacos also did not disappoint. We ordered to-go: 2 bistec quesadillas for the meat eaters and a variety of veggie and nopales things for the plant based eater (2 tacos, a sope and a gordita). Plus all three versions of the churros. It was all really good! Will definitely be returning. For the food, and likely in between for the churros. Note: if you've never had nopales before, they have an okra-like texture, if you're familiar with that. Means they could be described as having a "slimy" texture and might not be your cup of tea. I wanted breakfast tacos this morning decided to go to a new place that has been here a while but my first time here. I had two breakfast tacos, bacon egg and cheese and chorizo egg and cheese. Both are very good could not have asked for anything better. Great flavor good amount of ingredients. The price was dollar 75 each good price for the tacos. Made fresh when I order the tacos. The restaurant is located in a gas station they do have seating inside or get it to go which I did. The menu had much more. Sandwiches, quesadillas, tacos just to name a few. This spot is my favorite Arlington Hidden Gem! I had learned about this spot a few months ago, thanks to some Facebook post. I have not stopped coming since. I try to go at least once a week, it has become my favorite restaurant. Their food is always so fresh and the meat they use is very tasty unlike other spots I've gone to. My favorite plate from here is their chilaquiles. They are the best in Arlington very tasty, they are also not shy with their portions and the price ($9) makes it even more amazing. We loved our experience at 2 Compas! We got an order of chips and salsa, along with two plates of tacos. With our high San Antonio taco standards, we both loved the tacos we got here. That alone will keep us coming back, however they've got a pretty good size menu that we'll be working our way through. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small and not a lot of people were eating in, most were taking food to go, so the ambiance isn't really that of a "sit down" restaurant. However, we actually liked that it wasn't crazy busy, and we brought in our own beer (it's BYOB) which made it even better (and cheaper!). This great little spot is located in a shopping center. It's not too big, but I noticed a lot of people coming and going with to go orders. We decided to eat in and the food was hot and made to order, so it can be a little wait, but well worth it. My husband ordered the birria special and the consomé wasn't watery like most places and it even had some meat and cilantro so it was good to eat on its own instead of wasting it after finishing his tacos. I had some bistec sopes, omg! They were huge! I asked for no onions, and unfortunately they were too small to take off, but luckily I was able to mask the taste by drowning my sopes with delicious green salsa. As a I mentioned, they were big, and loaded. I definitely overestimated how many I ordered. They also have different agua frescas on different days. I got lucky and was able to get an agua de piña. It was sweet and refreshing. One inconvenience is that there wasnt a changing table in the bathroom, but I understand it's a small place. Just tried this place out due to high reviews, I didn't personally see how the reviews warranted. Our food took around 20 minutes when we were the only people there. Our server brought our food out and never checked on us again. After letting her know I was going to order an extra taco to go, I had to get up and stand at the counter for a couple minutes before she noticed me. As a server myself it was the first time in probably 5 years I tipped under 20%. The creamy verde was unbalanced being too citrusy and herby. The pastor did not taste like any pastor I've had before. I will say the lengua was very good and the tinga taco was pretty good while the meat was a little tough, my breakfast tacos were also pretty good. Everyone was also very friendly though the service wasn't quite there. Our server was busy shutting down the side room so she was a little distracted which I can understand. I'm giving this place the benefit of the doubt and am going to try it again because everyone has off days. Hopefully I can come back to this review and make amends. read more

I see this place when I am going to Fatoosh, and always thought I needed to stop in. Well, today was the day! I got off work early and needed to eat SOMETHING, but was meeting friends for dinner later and didn't want to ruin it. Tacos are the perfect food. You order them individually so you can go full on meal or just a snack. I ordered two tacos, one barbacoa and one carnitas. At $2.50, they are a bit more expensive than some of their competitors, but still an awesome deal. First thing you notice, homemade tortillas. OH YEAH! They give you a generous portion of filling, topped with onions and cilantro. Grilled onion on the side is always a welcome touch. The barbacoa was juicy and delicious, but the carnitas was the winner today. So flavorful. I only wished they crisped it up on the flat top to give it a bit of texture. They came with green salsa that was a little citrusy and herbal. It has a slow creeper heat to it that I really enjoyed. Not really spicy, but it says hello. I have a feeling I am going to be popping over here more often. There really is nothing better than homemade tortillas. read more

Off the beaten path in Pantego/Arlington area. We are Yelp lovers and look and seek all the time. This place rated well so we gave it a shot since we were close by and they were BYOB. Husband had the 3 Taco Plate with El Pastor. The meat was cut up very fine, which caused it to be very dry with average flavor. I ordered the burrito plate and asked for my meat to be on the side since I don't eat meat. I was told they can't do that and was then told of other vegetarian options. Since I wasn't interested in that, I stayed with the burrito but did not get any meat. That was fine for me, but wish my husband could've added extra to his tacos. Nonetheless, it was really good and a large portion to the point my husband I could've split it. I will say their chips and salsa was exceptional with added, raw onion, and cilantro on top, serve warm. You can tell it was homemade and their chips were very crisp & good. As mentioned, they are BYOB. But they do offer, soft drinks, tea, water, etc. It's quiet, in a shopping strip, & a small space but there was a little side room that could accommodate a small family gathering or party of about 20ish people. Okay. So the staff are crazy friendly. It was like we had been friends for years. But the food....holy cow. The chips and salsa are different but in a good way. Not usually a fan of salsa being served hot, but somehow these guys get it right. As for the tacos...I started with 2 bistec and 2 carnitas tacos. Amazing! They were so good I went back and got 2 pastor. The wife had carnitas and she loved them too. And she is a bit of a street taco snob. If they have the horchata- get it. It has to be the best I have ever had. It leaves this flowery potpourri taste in your mouth that is just wonderful. The inside is small, very small, but clean and the music is not all crazy loud and obnoxious. Easy to have a nice meal as long as you are okay ordering from the counter.
