Today is the day the straw broke the camels back. They first went wrong when they are the only place still trying to sell Crawfish for $11.99lb I asked why they were still selling them so high he said that's the cost to get them from Louisiana Sir, stop with the lies.... I ordered the Catfish w/fries I asked if they could not over cook and burn it as always. Well I still got burnt under cooked fish that is clearly not Catfish and cold fries. I'm not sure what it is I put it in the air fryer to cook some more it was still nasty and under cooked. I am posityat this point it is not catfish. A waste of money and time! Note to self...a near-empty parking lot right after Sunday church says everything you need to know deciding to visit a place for first time. After reading other reviews, and the number of references to burnt oil and food, changing rating to 1 star...these people know exactly that they are overcooking probably old and outdated food...or just lousy cooks. Visited for first time, and 2 stars is generous. You can smell the burnt oil in the restaurant and the fried dishes were WAY over cooked (smelled and tasted burned, dark brown burnt color) and it was every dish I saw on adjacent tables...not just ours. Would NEVER eat here again....just too many places in DFW that make wonderful catfish...this is NOT one! Service was attentive and polite...just not good enough to affect the low rating. read more

Atmosphere: For starters, I live in Dallas, so going to the suburbs has to be worth it. And I must say, this place is worth it! Yummy!!! So happy i fond this place on a recommendation of a co-worker. Fried fish, shrimp, and oysters are all good. The Cajun pasta is spicy but i couldn't stop eating it. The etoufees are also delicious. one of the favorites are the fried pickles. You get lots of flavor with a dash of heat in almost every dish. Friendly and courteous staff, even the folks in the kitchen say hello. Portions are a decent size, even though i think 2 more shrimp with an order would be good. After getting microchipped (JK Smiley) I finally felt secure enough going to sit down and eat. I'd been knocking some hard work out at home, and was craving Razzoos without lines. This place was close, and I recalled seeing some good pics over the years on my trusty YELP app! Right when I pulled up I was immediately greeted by a somewhat confusing sign that said BYOB and seemed (I emphasize seemed!) to indicate that I couldn't mix my own. Which pretty much means beer and wine only, I guess. I went down to liquor depot and turned my pocket into a minibar, then scooted back. I was greeted by a server that was nice, but you could tell he didn't want to be there. Shoot, I have been there! I ordered the catfish and the lady ordered the shrimp. I opted for the fried okra and salad option. She opted for the fries and salad option. Don't be scares by the (7) by the catfish - it's nuggets that are smaller than the size of an egg. It's still a lot of food though! BTW, I sure did drop sweet tea vodka into the tea they brought me. The lady who looked like she may have been the owner smiled and nodded and that was about it. The fish was fried perfectly, utilizing a really compact cornmeal breading. The texture was great, but the flavor was just a 3 out of 5 stars. I don't use tartar sauce or anything, so I kind of felt like I was eating perfectly fried cornbread. The okra stole my show. It was FRESH! the fry didn't cover the okra, and was a flour breading, which I didn't expect. That had flavor, but I wish it had been covered. Cannot beat that freshness though! The shrimp and the okra were in the exact same breading, which was very odd. Almost a putoff. The shrimp had the same issue as the fish - not a lot of flavor. Also, all of the sauces are in squeeze bottles, and for some inexplicable reason the ranch AND tartar are in nasty looking brown bottles. I really wanted the ranch but I was not trying to touch the communal ranch these days. After I finished my contraband drink, I sat for a few minutes and imagined I needed to pay up front. That was indeed the way, the truth and the light. The same gent who served me cashed me out at the register. I don't know that I will return. More flavor (even a shaker or packet) and adding drinks could change the game, but this place doesn't have that in the cards, it seems. Pro tip: hit up Mad Mike' 2 doors down before hitting the house. read more

I basically live here. After discovering how delicious their seafood pasta is, I've been hooked. The first time I stepped foot in here, I got their 6 lbs of crawfish deal (5 lbs + 1 lb free) and shared with my friend. We both enjoyed the sauce a lot (garlic butter) and got corn also. I love the craw-fish at this place. They make them "asian cajun" style, and they are really fresh. The best prices around with the buy 5 get 1 free at 8.99 a pound! The other places are 9.99 a pound. It does suck that they make you order all together in the same bag, but if you only pour a little out of the bag at a time the ones in the bag stay SUPER hot. *Pro tip* We also really like the Boudin sausage. Went in for some good spicy Cajun on a cold night and boy, was I happy I did! My friend and I ordered po' boy sandwiches and were very pleased with our orders! The fried shrimp was PLENTIFUL covering the entire basket and even hiding my Cajun fries! I really wanted sweet potato fries, but apparently getting the "upgrade" would cost me an extra 2 clams :( Not a problem as the whole sandwich and fry basket was only $7.49! This is our usual go to place when we are in town and we are craving some crawfish. They have an interesting ambiance. While we were there, they had Frank Sinatra playing in the background with Swamp people on running on the History channel but honestly, we are not there for the ambiance. We come for the crawfish. And the crawfish is legit. We order the mixed flavor and for the spicy level, we split it between medium and spicy and they are both really good. Food tasted pretty good. I had the seafood etouffee with smoked sausage, and the dirty rice. The shrimp in the etouffee tasted frozen, and the smoked sausage tasted like the jimmy dean sausage you can pick up from the grocery store. The dirt rice is similar to what you can pick up through the drive-thru at Golden Chick. The etouffee was mainly sauce - not much goodie for $10. I would say keep searching for that perfect Cajun place. Cajun Cafe, try and improve. Moving locations was a good idea! Now work on using fresher ingredients. read more
