Stopped by the food truck on my way to a local brewery on a rainy day. The food smelled delicious, and the server was nice. But unfortunately, I thought the food was so-so. I ordered a Jerk Chicken Steak. Bun was soft, chicken was tender, and there was a mild pleasant heat. But overall, it was kind of bland and definitely lacked jerk/Caribbean spices. I think if they renamed it, I would've enjoyed it more because the quality was fine, but I expected something very different from what I was given. Also, had the fries. These were kinda oily, soft, and needed a little more salt. It wasn't a bad experience by any means, but it could have been better. Next time, I'd probably try the grilled cheese. My friend ordered that, and there were huge slabs of Brie, which made it look pretty impressive and appetizing. read more

The arugula chicken salad was pretty good. It was served with beets, yams, cheese, and nuts. There was a massive amount of chicken in there and the dressing and mix of vegetables was good. I also tried the roast pork sandwich with long hots, broccoli rabe and provolone. The pork was pretty good, better than some others that I've had. I could have used a sharper provolone in there. The guy who works the stand was really friendly. He mentioned that he usually has a helper and apologized for the wait, but the wait was pretty reasonable. read more

I tried 2 Street Sammies when they were at Bishop Estates Winery and the sandwich did not disappoint. I had the truffle brie grilled cheese. The sandwich was warm and had a great pop of flavor from the cherries. My whole group loved their sandwiches and the truck had a wonderful selection to meet the needs of any customer. Super friendly guy running a solid food cart. I ordered the brisket cheesesteak which was okay. He seemed to be a bit rushed at the time I ordered and maybe not setup all the way yet. I did enjoy but it did lack the cheese (see picture) and it could of been a bit more tender. Other stuff on the menu looked and smelled good. The brisket is DELICIOUS!! I recently had food at a catered birthday party and everything was fantastic. In addition to being a great chef, Nate is also dedicated to helping the Philly community. There was a huge amount of perfectly good food left on the buffet at the end of the party. Instead of letting it go to waste, Nate contacted a group who picked up the food to donate to the homeless. I believe he also attends charity events with the truck. Before the party I've seen his truck at Dickinson Square Park during warm weather months. It's a great spot to sit on the grass and enjoy a tasty dinner. read more

Great sandwiches! We had the hotdog (Yo Dog) and the beef brisket sandwich with gorgonzola. Bottom line: both were good. The hotdog itself was awesome, but the chili could have a little more flavor/spice. I also might have preferred yellow cheddar to the three cheese blend he used. The beef brisket was also good. The Gorgonzola was awesome. I'd say the brisket was too fatty and could use a little more flavor. (It was typical beef brisket in Philly.) Overall I'd recommend getting the Yo Dog but asking for a more flavorful cheese, like Gorgonzola. The pork could have been good too, so maybe go for that next time. Good service and value. read more

Wonderful operation and concept with a delicious menu! We were fortunate enough to vend alongside Nathan and 2 Street Sammies at Wissahickon Brewing Company. The sandwiches made our night! We had both the pulled pork sandwich and the 'Yo Dog' hot dog with scrapple. The bread is fresh, the pesto and sauces are delicious, and you can taste the quality of Nathan's dishes. Great-tasting, abundant sandwiches for $7. I had the roasted pork with broccoli rob and my partner had the meatball. Both delicious. The owner Nathan is a really nice guy who cares about serving people a decent meal. And he's willing to be grilled about where he sources his ingredients. :) The meat is bought from a local butcher in South Philly. He's fairly sure the animals are pasture-raised, as opposed to brought up on a factory farm. It would be great if he could confirm this with the butcher, as when it comes to meat, this is probably the most important factor when it comes to the ethical treatment of animals, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, and protecting the environment. But yes, delicious sandwiches for a very fair price. read more

Had Nate out last night for a cart buy-out and it was a real pleasure working with him. He was super professional, flexible, and friendly! Every single sandwich that he made was delicious. I work way too much and decided to order a week's worth of food so it would be there when my Zoom day ended. I expected it to be convenient, I didn't realize it would be so delicious! So.delicious. The sweet potato lasagna was my favorite, but a close second were the crab cakes and banana cream pie. The roasted beets and farro salad were also great. We tried 2 Street Sammies' new home delivery service recently and it was excellent! I could have eaten the entire container of the tender, perfectly-flavored BBQ drumsticks myself but unfortunately had to share them with the rest of my family. Aptly-named for its South Phillly-inspired sammies, 2 Street is the real deal. I've had the pork and eggplant sammies at a couple events and both were dee-licious! The owner used to be with Paesano's and brings his sandwich skills to the streets in this cart. The pork is perfectly-cooked & complemented with a mozzarella-provolone cheese sauce I would swim in if I could. The garlicky broccoli rabe with hot pepper is a nice addition to the pork, and the rolls stand up to the heft of the over-stuffed Sammie.
