    Shrimp salad
    Stephanie C.

I was waiting for my car at Bergeys and looking for something for lunch and this place popped up. I had seen the signs when driving by but wasn't sure if it was opened previously. I got the 6in old fashioned Italian, hot roast pork, shrimp salad and soups of the day. All very tasty! I wish the 6in hoagie came on a seeded roll. I forgot to add broccoli rabe to the roast pork but it was a good amount of meat for the sandwich. The soups were light and very nice on a cold day. The shrimp salad had these giant shrimps that I couldn't resist. On the other side of the checkout counter there is gelato so don't miss that! I got a pint of the salted caramel to go. The store has tables to sit down to eat and there is a mini market for the staple Italian grocery items. I will definitely return to try some of their other hot sandwiches and gelato flavors.

Penna's Italian Market sits in a new strip of stores along Bethlehem Pike. The owners are not strangers to the food industry as they own an operate the popular Fireside Bar & Grill in Ambler. This new deli is filled with Italian specialties, prepared food and a full deli counter. They have a huge seating area along with a private room separated by barn doors. Their grand opening was on a Friday in November and I was able to stop in for lunch. There was quite a crowd but the wait to order wasn't too long. I' an Italian hoagie aficionado so their Old Fashioned Italian (Boar's Head meat) was in my cross hairs. They offer (3) sizes 6", 10" and 21" i believe. I chose the 10" which was around $13 with tax. After choosing the size you have the option of a regular or seeded roll. Any true hoagie guru will always choose the seeded roll which I did. This hoagies comes with oil and vinegar which is my go to and I added sweet peppers. I think they make their peppers in house because they were not the run of the mill sweets that come out of a jar but I will have to ask on my next visit to confirm. I had to eat half in the parking lot and finished the second half at home. I give it an overall 9 out of 10. Its a solid choice and probably the best in the area. The only change I would make would be to add a few slices more of each meat because the roll is quite large and overwhelmed the contents just a bit. I will definitely be back and after updating this review at 8:45am today i'm already craving lunch!

Small but comfortable Italian market with a big selection of premade items and take home ingredients. The made to order sandwiches are amazing. High quality ingredients put together with authenticity. The old fashion Italian is the face of the menu. It was so fresh and full of flavor. The seeded roll was a little thick to chew but it holds everything together. Will return next time I'm in town. Bonus: seating area was clean and cozy

Penna's Italian Market has the best Italian Hoagies well packed with meat & cheeses using the great Corropolese Bakery seeded rolls.

Horrible service and not accommodating when they mess up a meal. Received the wrong item and they would not remake a new one.

Now, I've been to several Guy Fieri restaurants in my life (actual restaurants) in Vegas and the like, and they were all top-notch. This, however, was not quite the case. Granted, I was certainly not expecting 5-star Vegas caliber dining here, but we were painfully curious to try this along with a few other "delivery only" places popping up. We ordered a Cuban sandwich - pricey and just okay. Slightly inconsistent distribution of meats across the entirety of the sandwich. Basically, one half was great, the other half was so-so... basic math gives that a solid "C" - so again, just okay. We also went for the cheesesteak egg rolls. Again - just okay. Really scant amount of meat, and the "SMC" (super melty cheese) tasted a lot more like a cheap processed American than the claimed provolone. So again, just okay. They even completely omitted the sriracha ketchup, but I was able to concoct my own. The queso dip was actually quite nice. Very flavorful and nicely seasoned with lots of corn, poblanos, and bacon to go around. The chips that came with the queso were grossly under-fried - they might have been good if they were crisp enough, but as they came, they were completely inedible - right in the trash. Finally, and I saved the best for last, the fries. I will admit that the fries were actually something special. Super crispy and loaded with flavor. If you're looking for fries, this is the place! Otherwise, you may look elsewhere. I don't plan on risking the burgers, sadly. I'm really not sure that Guy has even been served the same food we ate the other night, or he'd not allow his name to be associated in this manner. All that said, the fries and the queso get this bumped up to 3 stars - otherwise, it'd be more like a 1.5-2

Had it delivered on time. Opened the container and looked at the burgers ,our immediate thought was "Are you kidding me?" Disappointing doesn't even come close. A sorry excuse of shredded lettuce, onion, and cheese on top of a tasteless burger. Also where was my tomato and special sauce that was supposed to come with it? Nothing worse than expecting a great food experience and getting let down big time. $57 for 3 burgers and 1 French fry -including delivery and tip for driver.

The woman who took my order told me all about them and asked if I wanted to add one to my order. I told her no, but I would definitely be ordering one to go. With that said, here is our experience. My pastrami sandwich was very good. The rye bread was good, but the crust was very hard and I could not bite throught it. My mom did not care for her corned beef sandwich and said the meat had a decent flavor, but was cut too thick. She also could not bite the bread's crust. Our latkes were tasty and you can't go wrong with Dr. Brown's cherry soda! Now, the disappointing part. I ordered take-out, one small chicken matzah ball soup and one potato knish. I ordered with the same woman who raved about their kinish and guess what, she forgot to include the kinish in my bag. She brought the take-out bag to our table and assured me everything was there. I asked if the kinish was there, to which she said, "yes, as is the soup". Drove home over 30 minutes and no kinish. When I called them, the woman who took my order and packed the bag said, "Oh". Yes, she credited my card, but still....I was so looking forward to that kinish. If you're used to NYC deli, this is not it, but it is decent.
