American Traditional Flower done by Tom.
Shania D.

THEY DO NOT DO PIERCINGS! (As a friendly reminder for anyone who comes across their Yelp page and sees that). I came here a long time ago because of what Yelp had told me but they don't offer it and Yelp won't take it off. I finally conquered my fears and got my first tattoo yesterday! I showed Tom a reference photo and told him I wanted to get it placed on my left forearm (my arm is really small and thin, but somehow it all worked out). I'm really into american traditional designs, including flowers. We booked the appointment on the day that my boyfriend's sister got her first tattoo done with Tom. On the day of, my boyfriend got his tattoo first, and then came me. I was really nervous with how the pain would feel but I actually surprised myself and sat through it. It really felt like constant cat scratches. The shop is so clean, the walls are beautifully decorated in different styles, designs and I'm guessing things that other people have gotten done. The AC was really nice inside. When you walk in, you're able to look at each artists portfolio on the counter. The parking lot wasn't packed when we came a little after their opening time (around 11:30am). There were others getting tattoos done and the atmosphere was such a funny and friendly vibe. I had such a great experience. Tom is the best, super chill, and friendly! He will also tell you the truth, give his honest opinion, and give you suggestions. He was able to accomodate me with all of the details I wanted and even added more. I love the colors he chose to make the flower pop. It's so nicely saturated, the shading is awesome, and his linework is perfect! We will be back again!

It's a tattoo shop whose artists are all extremely talented. It's kind of a thing among artists to NOT continue a design that was started by another artist. It's someone else's work, not theirs. They give honest feedback about your ideas and let you know straight up if they have ideas to add to your original concept or if certain things (small lettering, super fine lines) will or won't holdup over time. A consultation is an actual consultation where the design is an open discussion and the outcome has always been beyond my expectations. Deposit required to hold your appointment time because their time is literally money, it goes to the total cost of your tattoo. They take walk-ins if they're available to do so outside of their scheduled appointments. And they always make time, even when they're tattooing, to consult with current or prospective clients. It's a great place to get amazing work done and I'd highly recommend all of these artists. These men are artistic professionals and worth it every time.

At the shop almost done with the piece!

I finally got my first tattoo at this shop from a tattoo artist named Jaycob In fact, I got 2 tattoos and it was a good experience. My first tattoo artist ended up flaking on me even though we had already planned and sketched it out so I decided to walk into this shop after my friend recommended them to me. I walked in with my friend and their shop was cool looking. Art on the walls, clean, but a little small. We were immediately greeted by the staff and they were all friendly. I told them about my situation and they told me I could get my tattoo done that day yay! I was excited because my artist actually ended up being the guy that I wanted for my tattoo. I was looking on their IG before I came in and decided I wanted either Erin or Jaycob. I think there was another Jay but my artist is @aloha_show_you on IG. While Jaycob sketched out my tattoo, we were talking to one of the other artists. I think his name was Nirvana? He also does piercings and was educating us about it because we had just recently gotten piercings from another shop. He was a cool guy, very nice. Jaycob came back and told us it would be better if we came another day so he could add more details to my tattoo, which made me sad but at the same time I wanted my first tattoo to be super nice so I agreed. Fast forward to Tuesday the 26th, I arrive at 12pm, which is their opening time. Within a few minutes we got started. He showed me the placement and let me know that the tattoo would be better if it was bigger, but would be a little more pricey, which I didn't mind at all. Pain was not as bad as I thought and he was super careful with me. He even made sure my collarbone tattoo didn't hurt by putting less pressure with the machine. I was there for like 4 hours I think? Time went by fast though. We talked during the session but it was the right amount of talking and he's a chill guy. But I'm super in love with my tattoo and am planning to come back to Jaycob again

Tried to schedule an appointment for a new tattoo but I've been pretty busy. I decided to do a walk-in and see if they had any openings. The guys in the shop recommended Erin to do my tattoo, who specializes in geometric looking tattoos. She was kind enough to take me in and even spend an hour drawing something up, which is long (I think?) for a walk-in. An hour later and lots of consulting later and I'm on the table. I'm not a big talker, so we sat in silence most of the time but she didn't mind. The other tattooers even recognized an artist whose done an old tattoo of mine, and they were very friendly and chatty. They had lots of knowledge of tattoos and the shop was clean and constantly sanitized. Three hours later and it was finally finished. Erin's work is so clean and precise it's so hard to save when I just want to go for another. My tattoo came out exactly what I pictured. She took her time and didn't rush and it felt like I made an appointment before coming in. Definitely recommend this place, and definitely will come back.

Tat choices for Friday the 13th
Sheena J.

Happy Friday the 13th!!! Two years ago I came to Oahu and found a tattoo shop in town that did a Friday 13th deal: $13 tattoo/piercing. Two years later, that same shop didn't do it anymore, but I had to dig really deep to find this place...two thumbs! It was a far commute from town but I didn't mind. Me, my cousin, and our friend Ace knew that today we were going to get matching friendship tattoos. We drove out to MILILANI and there was already a bunch of people waiting outside the shop. It's behind a gas station and the inside is your everyday tattoo parlor. They were really nice and straight to the point people: get in, pick your tat off their sheet, pay, wait your turn. Alexis was super friendly and helpful through all of it, because there was a lot of tattoos to choose from from their sheets. It was all Friday the 13th themed of course, but she was very fun spirited and would joke with us about what to get. We waited for 1-1.5 hours til it was our turn. They're quick! We got our tat's done by @inkster_andrew and he made it look so much nicer than what was on the sheet originally. Definitely one for the books! Thank you! :)

This was my first time going here since I live in mililani side. I went to get my spine tattoo from Tom and he was very friendly and helped me ease my nerves when getting this piece done. The session took an hour and a half and I absolutely love it!! Would definitely see him again for more future tattoos. Thank you Tom!

Been wanting to cover up an old tattoo for a couple years so I gave 2Thumbs a call back in May 2018. Guy named Bo answered and told me to come down so he could see what he could do so I went in that same day. Was immediately greeted by Elton at the front desk (big smile, friendly dude), told him I wanted a Japanese style Phoenix to cover up an old tattoo on my shoulder so he recommended Bo to come take a look. Bo was super chill, he let me browse through some portfolios and he gave his input on what would work with what I was asking for. I liked what I heard so I put down a deposit so that he would start drafting me something and he told me come back in a week. Came back a week later and he showed me a few ideas he had. I picked one out and set up an appointment. Been coming now about once a month (2 - 3 hour sessions) since May 2018. Shop has a comfortable chill vibe to it and they always seem to have someone getting work done. Bunch of flash on the walls and even a "Get What you Get" gumball machine that has various palm sized traditional tattoos ($100 for a $200 piece, I think). They have AC and good music playing with a restroom on hand and lots of parking. Super happy with the work that Bo has done on my sleeve, super talented and down to earth guy. Highly recommend him for Japanese and American traditional style work. See pics for progress.

I got my first tattoo here. My artist is Jaycob. Getting a tattoo was a great experience. I got 90% of my tattoo done in 4 hours. I love the setting of the store, the music, and the decorations inside the store. Everyone is super experienced and friendly, and I had quality time getting a tattoo. I highly recommend it!!

I recently had a Tattoo with the Artist Andrew. I came to the shop as a walk-in and was greeted by the owner in a friendly welcoming yet safe environment. My entire experience was positive. Andrews technique and hand was steady and not heavy. His energy was calming and aware of my occasional discomfort. My picture that I brought along to show my choice of my tattoo was replicated spot on. The shop was clean and organized and at any time I wasn't uncomfortable. I would definitely go back again and I would definitely recommend this shop with a 5 Star Rating! Nice, easy, professional!

Tattoo on my right inside forearm by Leo.

They have been great. I didn't have an appointment and just did a walk-in and got seen within 1 hour and 2 hours later my tattoo was done by Leo. He did a great job on my tattoo. I definitely recommend for anybody to stop by the store if you want to get a tattoo or piercing. Thanks and 2 Thumbs up from me.

I've been to many tattoo shops and I have to say, the best work and the best service comes from Two Thumbs tattoo. Usually I go to the Aiea location, but hearing such a hype about the new Mililani location had me curious. The shop is clean, spacious, and well decorated. Parking is right outside and they are attached to a convenience store for those long tattoos that require a snack break. Bo and the guys are very helpful. Best of all, they cater to your needs - not try to talk you into something easier or more expensive. If you have an idea, they have a vision. Lastly, I love that you don't just sit there while they work. They treat you like family and really get to know you. Youd be surprised with some of the topics I've discussed with these guys. An absolute must if you are looking to get some ink! I will definitely not be going anywhere else. Two Thumbs is the place to be.

Hi, what's your minimum price for a small tattoo, about two inches, between thumb and index finger?

Aloha our shop minimum is 80 dollars but we do not guarantee the price due to the fact that there are to many factors of the Tattoo design, placement, and style let alone if it’s even possible to do it in the area allowed. We recommend always coming…

Aftermath Tattoo Studio Hawai'i…read more I finally got to finish this beautiful piece that my Angie gifted me for my 60th birthday. With my hectic schedule, it took a while, but it was absolutely worth the wait. Josh, the talented artist behind this work, brings vibrant colors and incredible attention to detail. I'm beyond grateful for this piece and for the experience at Aftermath Tattoo Studio. Highly recommended. Marie

DO NOT COME TO THIS SHOP TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ! Ariel…read moreis a great tattoo artist but terrible at customer service! My girlfriend had a bad experience with Ariel. @hellafreshhawaii My girlfriend had an appointment with her, she shows up at the shop and Ariel didn't even show up or did not acknowledge that she will not make it until a hour after. We were okay with that and didn't mind to reschedule. So the day of reschedule day my girlfriend was unsure if she will make it on time, she messaged Ariel to let her know she will be an hour late. Ariel responded yes that's fine. Now my girlfriend is rushing to leave her job, go home and get ready she realizes after getting ready she can show up close to the original time scheduled. But because they agreed that she will be an hour late, my girlfriend showed up to the shop early but left to eat and come back. Meanwhile Ariel is messaging her but my girlfriend did not respond right away so I guess that made Ariel assume that my girlfriend will not show up at all and was thinking she wants to reschedule entirely. So Ariel practically tells her I was confuse on your appointment so let's reschedule this will be the second time she will not show up to an appointment. So unfortunately my girlfriend just rather go to someone else. Once she told her you know what just cancel the appointment. Ariel just doesn't care and doesn't respond. So now our $325 deposit is gone, what a waste of time and money. I had never had an experience with an any tattoo artist , it's very unprofessional and I hope they don't do it to another because losing a deposit will be unfortunate. Ariel made my girlfriend feel like she didn't want to do the tattoo. As a tattoo artist wouldn't you want your client to feel welcomed and acknowledge. Wouldn't you want to satisfy your client after not showing up the first time? Looks like you don't care. Now we are going to take our money and take it to someone that really cares about there customers cause this place makes you feel like they want your deposit and that's it.

I recently took her course 1 day work shop and beginners course. She explains how a typical appointment would be like from the time the client walks in until they walk out the door. She went in depth about the anatomy of the skin, technique, color theory, different needles and depth, and different pressures, different ways of shading/outlining, how to take before & after and the entire process of mapping etc) Coming from someone who has no experience with a machine, never had any background in beauty, I walked out the first class feeling confident in myself that it is possible for me to do this. Before I left she had me practice on latex which I gave her a full set of eyebrows which surprised myself and sissy. Shortly after I left I practiced and practiced day in and day out & let me tell you my first sheet of latex was not that great (but as expected as someone who has no experience) I texted sissy a photo and asked for her advice and within minutes she's replies with tips for me on how to better my work. It was too saturated, you can tell my pressure in some areas was heavy & the pixels was not there. After following her tips, the next set I did was much better than before. Moral of the story for this is that there is infinite support with sissy. She wants to see every student succeed in this industry. I had a demo day we're sissy shows me exactly what goes on. I knew that my tattoo would be a chrysanthemum, but nothing more than that. My tattoo took 3 appointments, but I appreciated that it was broken down this way. The first appointment I had was to consult with Jimmy about what I wanted. I explained that my tattoo was a memorial for my mom who had passed away. It was to be a chrysanthemum because it was our shared birth flower and a favorite of my moms. Jimmy asked about colors and I mentioned I wanted to encorporate green because it was mom's favorite color. He showed me several images of chrysanthemums and explained their significance in Japanese art and tattoo culture. Knowing how well the flower matched my reasons for getting it, I was confident I had chosen the perfect artist for my piece. My second appointment was for the outline. I appreciated that Jimmy took the time to explain the process to me and made sure I knew what was going on as he worked on my. He checked in to be sure I was comfortable (as comfortable as you can be getting a tattoo). I left with a beautiful outline in a relatively short amount of time. My last appointment was for color, shading and completion. Jimmy showed me the colors he had chosen based on our initial consultation and again talked me through the process. I am beside myself with the beauty of the piece I am now wearing. I highly reccomend Jimmy Mack Tattoo to anyone looking for quality work created by an artist.
