He not only does he do phenomenal work, but he is a good guy and very down to earth so you can talk to him. AMAZING. I've only gotten two tattoos in the past, and both times were good experiences but nothing can compare to this shop. I walked in and one of the artists, Forrest, helped us out immediately, me and my friend weren't too sure what we were going to get that day so we just looked around for a while and when it came to asking Forrest for his opinion on this coffin I wanted he made it EXACTLY how I wanted it, the flowers inside the coffin, the color, everything. Plus he was very light handed compared to the previous tattoo artists I've seen. Stopped in for two smallish tattoos on a walk in day. My turtle tattoo is absolutely amazing. I have 8 tattoos and it's probably one of my favorites! My husband also got a tattoo from Shawn that looks amazing. Very crisp and clean work. Everyone in the shop seemed friendly and professional. I do have two complaints though. One, my tattoos (in my opinion) were very expensive. The shop minimum is $100 which is pretty standard in Hawaii but I thought since my tattoo was pretty small and standard and no color I would add another small one to get my money's worth. The second one I got was very, very small. Maybe two inches. My turtle one is probably about 4 inches and another 4-5 inches but very basic and again no color. I was charged $200 for both. I didn't realize each tattoo is a $100 minimum. I thought it was $100 as the starting price then they would adjust from there. Thought that was a little steep but not a huge deal. Also asked about military discount since it's advertised on their door and was told it's already in their prices, which seems a little odd since anyone off the street could walk in. My husbands tattoo though was very reasonably priced. So I guess it just depends what artist you get. The other complaint I have is the shading on my small tattoo in the shell is way higher and darker in the shell then I expected it to be. The rest of the tattoo looks awesome but the shell not so much. I asked for light shading towards the bottom of the shell and instead got dark shading throughout. Which makes it look like a dark blob if you get too far away. Maybe it was a miscommunication. It's unfortunate because now I'm going to have to have someone try and fix it or get laser removal which is going to be another expense. Overall, I had a good experience though and would come back. I would just be better prepared to pay top dollar and wouldn't let someone do shading without specific details. read more

Got my first "non-traditional" ear piercing (a rook), and my experience was GREAT! The shop was very clean, and the signs hanging on the walls were very entertaining. LOL! I chatted with a very friendly woman at the front desk (sorry, I didn't get her name!), and she put me at ease. Forrest, who did my piercing, was DA BOMB! He was super-friendly, and super quick. Very talented young man. It felt more like a pinch than anything, and when I was done I had this adorable rook piercing. It's been about an hour, and my ear isn't even red, and Im only feeling a dull ache. As I was leaving I was already figuring out when and where my next piercing would go. recently i made a review talking about my belly piercing. sicne then, it has rejected (because i have the wrong anatomy and i shouldn't have been pierced in the first place). i was pierced by dan and he did a great job calming me down because i was nervous, and he also did my helix. my helix is now swollen and very very purple, i belueve my cartilage was shattered dhe to improper piercing. in no way am i bashing dan or american made tattoo, as it wasn't their faults, but i just wanted to let everyone know thay every piercing i've gotten from dan has had to be taken out due to rejection/infection. i clean my piercings everyday. attatched is a picture of my helix. read more

Called as soon as they opened up and was seen as soon as they opened up. My wife and i got 2 i initial tattoos and i got an add and on. collectively it took around 2 hrs to draw it up and ink it on. Amazing environment amazing tattoo artist. My wife and i have a barrage of tattoos and we both agree Andy (tattoo artist) and the shop in general were amazing. This place was great. I recently had to remove all of my piercings due to a surgical procedure, to include my nipple piercings (4 years old), but the holes began to close so I was unable to put in my jewelry on my own. I searched Google and found American Made Tattoo and called and spoke with Tim who was very courteous over the phone. He told me to come in right away, so I did. Once I got there, I saw Forrest who actually reinserted my piercings for me. Boy, was I nervous, but he was very clean and professional and he helped me to feel comfortable. So I can't say enough good things about this shop and the people that work there. Everyone is talented and professional, but still fun. You feel completely at ease with the artists. They're all great people! I personally have now been tattooed by 2 artists there. Andy Deaton has done a huge back piece on me that was started about 6 years ago when I lived on the island. I moved back just a couple months ago and have been to see him a number of times for more add ons to my back. He will also be doing a sleeve for me. Well today I came in with a friend that I brought to see Andy (this is now her second tattoo by him in 1.5 months) and while I was sitting there I got that itch. I wanted my nose double pierced and a very teeny tiny and detailed tattoo on one of my fingers. Finger tattoos are not easy and I have long thin fingers. Andy told me to ask his fellow artist Forrest if he would do it for me while he tattooed my friend. Now I wasn't really expecting a yes because finger tattoos are rough and especially the one I wanted. Forrest looked at it, and said no problem I love doing these small detailed tattoos. Awesome for me!!! So not only did Forrest double pierce my nose, quickly, professionally, and pretty much without pain......he followed it up with knocking my difficult tiny finger tattoo out of the effing park. The EXACT design I gave him to a T with a big giant capital T!! Absolutely perfect. I couldn't be happier with it. Forrest also said he's more than willing and happy to fix a craptastic finger tattoo I had done years ago. It's horrible and I hate it. I have complete trust in whatever he comes up with, because he's really that good. So after writing this book of a review......the moral of the story is that I love this shop and I love the artists. I will go nowhere else and will continue to bring my friends and family to see these guys. I suggest the same for anyone reading this. Good people, good vibe, amazing artists! read more
