We drove all the way from California, en route to a 40th birthday party, and the entire drive up we were like little kids, "are we there yet?" Nope, not Portland, our ultimate destination - we were giddy for 2 Towns Cider. Their cider is some of our favorite- Nice and Naughty caught our taste buds by surprise around holiday time at - of all places - our local favorite Mexican food restaurant, and since then we've thoroughly enjoyed the dry, complex flavors that 2 Towns produces. The tap room is small - a LOT smaller than I anticipated, but the night we walked in, there must've been about 20 dudes playing Magic The Gathering at various tables. Right on. The two people working there were super cool, a woman who knew just about everything there was to know about the product, and a younger guy who was also very polite. We thoroughly enjoyed tasting and talking with them. I wish we could've been able to tour the brewery, but alas, we had to keep on our journey the next day. If you like cider, especially cider that has actual complex flavor and doesn't taste like an alcoholic soda, do yourself a favor and stop by this amazing spot. Thank you 2 Towns! read more

I've always been a fan of 2 Towns cider but had never been to their ciderhouse until recently. I'm glad we made the trip for it. They have flavors on tap that you won't find anywhere else and the flights are a good bang for your buck. The cider was great, but I was even more pleasantly surprised by how great the service was. Let me start by saying up front: I don't like beer. I live in the land of microbrews, and despite trying and trying -- everything from raspberry Hefeweizen to that horrifying Rogue Voodoo Bacon Maple stuff -- I've never found one I could drink. I went to the Bite of Benton a couple of years ago and ended up spending half of my taste coupons on 2 Towns ciders. I immediately fell in love with The Incider. I later fell madly in love with Made Marion, their seasonal marionberry cider. I nearly cried when I bought the last one of the year from the convenience store near my house. Then I tried their autumn seasonal cider, Seriously Scrump. Winter is saved! The cool part? Each type of cider is made with just a few ingredients. The Incider is apples and honey. That's it. Well, plus fermentation blah blah blah. They're a local company just starting to take off. They've just finished their new ciderhouse (with a tasting room... YAY!) and I'm seeing their products in more places. This is a good thing! 2Towns is run by a few Oregon grads who spent more time in the kitchen that in class...and that is great for us! Cider is quite delicious, and a great alternative when you're not in a beer mood. These guys make some great stuff. The Bad Apple flagship is good, but you must try the Pear cider as well. They have great concept art and I love the style and character of this business. The taproom is absolutely disappointing. Thier website describes a great experience with a large tap list and help from thier staff on choosing cider. The help that we were given was being told from the bartenders that we should try this one because it's a pretty color. It have recently developed a taste for ciders and sours. We were recommended to this place from a different brewery in town. Cute little room with great personalities working there. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and the bartender was so so nice. I can't recall which beer I liked over the other! We tried every beer they had. We went in only thinking we would have 1 beer, but chit chatting with the bartender she started explains the local Marion berries and gave us samples tasters of each beer. We had an amazing conversation with her about the processes of pressing and she gave us a quick little tour. It was an amazing experience with great tasting ciders. Such nice people there. We were visiting Eugene and realized Corvallis and 2 Towns was not far + we had family to visit there so bonus! Didn't get a chance to try their sampler because I showed up before they were opened. BUT they let me in to buy some stuff to take with me on our two months long road trip. I got to share these amazing drinks with friends all along the West Coast, Seattle to SanDiego. I was blown away by these guys, best hard cider I've ever had...by a long shot! This was a cool place. I'm not the biggest fan of ciders in the first place but I though it was pretty cool how many more options there were from what I'm used to seeing distributed in wider scale. There's room for darts and a comfortable area to hang out in and most of what is there is priced really cheap. I have been dying to try this tasting room since it openes. Luckily, a recent trip to Corvallis provided an opportunity. We opted for a flight and there were plenty of options. The 4 samples were only $4. Quite the deal! The view was great with some kind of garden or orchard in the back. Our favorites were the Maid Marion, Bad Apple, and Naughty & Nice. Cider is such a great compromise between beer and wine I can see why it is becoming so popular. I loved being able to support local business and having a large variety of choices to sample. I'm not a huge fan of beer (even the local microbrews!), but I do love hard cider. The problem is...it's difficult to find good cider, especially one that is made locally. Yay for 2 Towns!! 2 Towns produces delicious ciders that can be appreciated as well as any microbrew. Both flavors have unique qualities, without being overly sweet. They also don't have artificial flavorings that many commercially made ciders have, so the taste far superior. PLUS - the 2 Towns boys are both quality people who are passionate about what they do! Incredible experience! We visited Two Towns Ciderhouse on a Monday afternoon. A group of six us did the cider tasting, which at $4 each we thought was great value. The service was fantastic! We were treated to some information and advice from the bar tender, and she even took us "behind the scenes" for a look at how they produce the cider. What happened to the Made Marion? Bought a 6 pack in cans in California and they were horrible-funny smell and horrible taste.

These guys make some really awesome ciders - some of the best I've ever had. Watch out though because in addition to smooth refreshing taste they have a pretty high alcohol content. 2 Towns Ciderhouse makes some of the best ciders that the northwest has to offer. Whole, pressed fruit, with no added sugars or chemical flavors allows the natural ingredients to speak for themselves and I like what I hear... I can't really pick a favorite because they are all so delicious. BrightCider is super crisp and drinkable, definitely a cider that would please both the seasoned cider drinker and the new comer. The Bad Apple is big and bold, with some lovely complexity, one of the more unique and crowd pleasing ciders I have come across. All of their seasonals have a neat twist to them that makes them unique as well. Some of my faves are: Rhubarbarian, Ginja Ninja, Cherried Away, Nice and Naughty, Serious Scrump and Made Marion. The limited release line up has never let me down either, my favorite being Hop and Stalk, a citra hopped rhubarb cider and my second favorite Fly'N South which is a gooseberry cider fermented with English cider yeast... yum! You can also find Cidre Muscato and Cot In The Act here and there if you hunt around a bit. Both of which are exceptional. Case in point: 2 Towns Ciderhouse makes some Damn Fine Cider! read more
