Great spot to get away from the hoopla of the main strip in Helen, GA but still be somewhat close…read more It's about an 8-minute drive to this cute coffee house from Helen. It seems to be a local favorite because it was pretty busy when we arrived. We got the last spot in the parking lot. The lot is not paved (dirt and mulch); however, if you have a Tesla they have two charging units in the lot. Staff are very friendly and inviting and they do a good job of cleaning and maintaining the coffee station and customer seating areas. Prices are competitive to other businesses in the area, although the coffee is a bit expensive in my opinion, but it is delicious. I ordered an Americano and it was one probably the best one we had on our whole trip. Nancy and I both ordered coffee's, the Americano was $5.75 and her Coffee of the Day was $4.00. For our breakfast we decided on the Bacon Quiche $7.50 and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit $6.95 to share. The Quiche was on point; it was much better than the Biscuit Sandwich. Don't get me wrong both items tasted yummy it's just the biscuit was quite dry. Nancy had to ask for Jelly to spruce it up. They didn't charge extra for the jelly and after adding the jelly the sandwich was actually the bomb; something for the menu development team to ponder. There is not a lot of seating here but it seems most customers are in and out quick except for a few that are working on laptops and whatnot. All-in-all, a great spot for a quick breakfast or brunch and fresh ground and deliciously brewed coffee. I recommend them if you are in the area.

We ordered the pretzel sticks with their beer cheese, and they were incredible. The pretzels were warm, soft on the inside with the perfect chewy exterior, and the beer cheese was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It was the perfect snack to share while exploring downtown. We also couldn't resist the bakery. We picked up a raspberry Linzer cookie, and it was phenomenal, buttery, perfectly baked, and filled with just the right amount of sweet-tart raspberry jam. Before leaving, we grabbed a bottle of their blueberry maple syrup to take home, and if it tastes anything like everything else we tried, I'm sure it'll be just as amazing. Their bakery cases are packed with fresh breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, jams, and other specialty items that make it hard to leave empty-handed. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and beautifully fits Helen's Bavarian theme. The smell of fresh bread greets you as soon as you walk through the doors, making it feel like an authentic German bakery. Even with how busy it was, the staff kept everything moving efficiently and were friendly throughout our visit. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, a snack, or just to browse the bakery, Hofer's is well worth the visit. Between the fresh baked goods, delicious food, authentic atmosphere, and unique take-home items, it's easy to see why it's one of Helen's most popular spots. We'll definitely be back on our next trip.

I didn't try either during my visit, so I can't speak to their quality, but it's nice that they have more than just honey available. The highlight for me was being able to sample both their traditional and whipped honey before making a purchase. It was a great way to compare flavors without feeling pressured, and the staff was friendly throughout the experience. After tasting a few options, I ended up taking home the Lemon Whipped Honey and Cinnamon Whipped Honey, and I'm glad I did. The whipped honey has an incredibly smooth, creamy texture that spreads easily, and both flavors were delicious. The lemon is bright and refreshing, while the cinnamon has a warm, comforting flavor that's perfect on toast, biscuits, or even stirred into tea. My only reason for giving four stars instead of five is the price. The honey is definitely on the more expensive side, so it's more of a specialty purchase than something I'd buy regularly. That said, the quality is excellent, and the ability to sample before buying helped make the purchase feel worthwhile. Overall, this is a charming local shop with great products and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're a honey lover or looking for a unique gift, I'd definitely recommend stopping in. I would happily come back to pick up more whipped honey and maybe give the coffee and pastries a try next time.

I guess it makes sense to be called HOTH. The place is decorated nicely and is a good place to wind down. The reason why I only gave it 2 stars was solely the service. I asked if the chai tea latte was pre-sweetened and I was assured it was not if I got it "none sweet". After I got the drink, it was VERY sweet even though it was labeled none sweet. Given it was a $10 drink, I wanted to make sure it was what I ordered.Talking to a different person at the counter, they told me it was pre sweetened and I was not able to get it without sugar. They allowed me to get another drink after I asked. I got the cold brew which was light and a little watered down. My experience wasn't the best, but my girlfriend got a drink and said it was good! If you're into sugary creative drinks with cool ambiance, check this place out! But if you enjoy more basic coffees, maybe look elsewhere.

The best part is definitely the setting--you can sit and watch tubers float down the river while you eat. Just keep in mind there are no fans or air conditioning, so it can get pretty hot... The menu posted on the food truck/website is not the full menu, so make sure to ask for the paper copy. They're known for the Buddha Burger and also have some healthier options. The food was okay for me, but if you love greasy smash burgers, you'd probably rate it much higher. One thing I didn't love was the pricing. Prices have increased, and there is an upcharge for paying by credit card that I didn't see mentioned on their website. There are also no fountain drinks--everything is bottled and purchased separately. Service was great. The person cooking and serving us was very friendly and genuinely eager to tell us about the food, the location, and their sister restaurant (Hoochee's River basket). Overall, I'd stop by again if I were already in the area, especially for a casual picnic-style meal with a nice river view. The atmosphere/location is really what makes it unique.
