They were very understaffed, and although the servers tried their very best, it was not a comfortable situation. Stopped for lunch today to check the place out. Good service with the two young ladies there. Had the Philly Cheese Crepe for lunch. Plenty of meat in the crepe that is for sure. Very filling meal peppers and onions were cooked correctly. A little upset they were out of Provolone Cheese at 12:40 PM and they still have a good 6 hours. No one made an attempt to send someone to the store to get the correct cheese. That is prevalent in a lot of stores lately just run out of items and wait till they show up. Also out of mushrooms for someone else's crepe. Will give them another try sometime later. Would of been 5 stars if better customer service. read more

Nothing like eating breakfast with some pure classic rock like Prairie League playing in the background. We shared the Egg, Bacon and Cheese Crepe. It was nice, light and delicious. Restaurant Review: Village Crepe Haus No, no, no. I'm not trying to be mean, but Village Crepe Haus just did nothing for me. I had high hopes, but they fell short. We tried the s'mores crepe and the gyro crepe, and neither impressed. The s'mores crepe was overdone and too much to handle. The gyro crepe was even worse--dry, flavorless meat with an overcooked crepe. The place itself is extremely small, not conducive to much, but it does have a cute ambiance. On the positive side, the customer service is extremely welcoming, and the coffee is strong, which I appreciated. But, I'm sorry, Village Crepe Haus--I won't be returning. read more

First impression: I was SO excited to eat here while I was in town.. the outside of the crepe house is adorable, as is everything in this cute little German themed town. We came in around 11 o clock on a Sunday (on the off season) and this little place was SLAMMED. There's a very limited amount of seats and tables. But luckily by the time we were done waiting in line we were able to snag a table. (We were standing in line waiting to order for about 10-15 minutes, and we don't receive our food for another 15-20 min after that). The coffee: I ordered a white chocolate cappuccino.. it was 10 out of 10. I like my coffee sweet but with a strong coffee flavor and this fully delivered. My partner ordered a s'mores iced coffee and she really loved it! It was sweet and creamy and everything she wanted.. Le crepe: I had a Nutella crepe with strawberries and bananas. It was DELICIOUS. Easily 5 stars. It was soft and fluffy, the fruit was perfectly ripe and delicious. My partner had a Elvis crepe but she substituted the peanut butter for Nutella. It was totally delicious, but unfortunately it was a little crispy and kept cracking. The guy making the crepes (may have the been the owner?) was super nice and instantly made her another one. The second one brought out was perfect and honestly I was kinda jealous on how delicious her crepe was. The only think I really didn't like was the pricing system... for most of the crepes, it a "build your own" and they charge by the ingredient. By the time I was done I paid $40 for two crepes and 2 coffees. It was definitely worth it and I would do it again; but I do wish they had more crepes on the menu that were pre-set combos with 1 set price (like the Elvis). Over all there was a few cons to this little spot, but it was so delicious and you can tell it is a small, family owned business. Which is why I think this place is a MUST if you're rolling through Helen. Just make sure you don't stop in at brunch time if you have a strict time schedule. read more

We walked in (this was in March), I took one star off because the person making my crepe. We were the only people in the crepery at the time we were ordering. The inside was quaint, with a few tables available, for those that wanted to sit down inside and eat. We opted to grab ours to go, so we could eat them outside. We both opted to go the original route, whipped cream, honey, powered sugar. We grabbed our items to go and went outside to grab a bench. Please note, there are a bunch of benches outside, so you can sit outside, enjoy the weather (when it cooperates). The crepe was good. It had a little crispiness on the outside, the inside was thin, yet fluffy. The honey was sweet, but also tasted like it had a small amount of lemon juice in the honey (don't quote me on that, but that's what it tasted like). The Village Crepe Haus has a lot of varieties -- everything from Chicken Fajita to Nutella. The food was served very quickly, the portions were generous, and the staff were friendly. The crepes had great flavor and will appeal to everyone from picky eaters to those who love gourmet adventures. In addition to the crepes, we found that they have great gelato too. Their offerings are better than many ice cream stores and the price was reasonable. The inside of the restaurant only has a few tables and a bar. So, come early. It's a small restaurant with approximately 5 tables. They serve meal crepes, dessert crepes, beverages, and pastries. I ordered a Turkey and cheese crepe from the kids menu. It was nothing fancy. The Turkey was processed meat but my daughter appeared to enjoy the meal. I had the Philly Cheesesteak Crepe. I didn't have high hopes for it but I was pleasantly surprised. The meat was tender. It came with green peppers and onions. It was absolutely delicious. I inhaled my meal in about 5 minutes and didn't leave anything for leftovers, which is rare. Small restaurant so I thought it was silly when they asked us to stand at the register to order(the tables are inches away and there's no where to stand when they are more than one deep at the register without standing over tables). This is after we stood there for a few minutes wondering if we seat ourselves or what the deal was. This place is small but fit our party of 9 and other families comfortably. The staff are so friendly and welcoming! The food is great. We got the big Lebowski with bacon, Nutella crate, and an egg and cheese crêpe with chicken. The waffle that came with the big Lebowski was amazing. It tastes like cake! I used to love this place. Would look forward to it every time we came to Helen. This time it was such a letdown. The cashier looked like she hated her job. The food and coffee is SO expensive and not even worth the price. They charge $15+ for each crepe and they barely have any filling. They are just sad. Served on paper plates at that. This place gets popular, and crepes take time, so plan ahead and get there early if you're planning on breakfast, or be ready to chill and wait if you're headed there later. It's definitely worth the wait! And if you are hitting this place later in the day it's a fair trade if you're a parent wanting to hit the Biergarten across the street. OMG, OMG, OMG...da best! This little hidden gem is simply scrumptious. Small and locally run, the owner is both friendly and funny. They run Chive TV so you can hardly notice the wait. All crepes are made fresh to order. The crepes are HUGE!!! I absolutely recommend them. We bought four having no idea how big they would be. I definitely think it is worth it to spring for the whipped cream on the sweet crepes. They all have cute names but we had the strawberry, the nutella, the meat lover, and the cheeseburger. Needless to say after eating all of that you could have rolled us down the street. Everything was basically heaven. It was so good, so fresh, and so warm. They had a lot off different options and limited interior seating space. Bathrooms were clean and they had some different menu options but crepes really were the main stay. Friendly chef and service team really made the experience fun. I would recommend this place anyone just don't let your eyes be bigger than your stomach.
