I would like to begin my stating that this office met my standards many years ago but a lot of changes have been developed that have affected my perspective towards the customer service I receive.. Let me begin.... My entire family comes to this office expect me since I see an ophthalmologist...Debbie (office manager) fails to return my calls when I want to place contact lens orders for my kids.. and ever since Kelly left she has not been able to adjust my husband's glasses accordingly.! An unprofessional business has developed and I can honestly take my business elsewhere. I love love Dr. Na. He is so knowledgeable and patient. I never has an optometrist who was so determined to fit me with the right contact lenses. I went through so many pairs until I had the right fit. Dr. Na wanted me to be super happy with my lenses and not just be ok with them. He didn't care how many trial pairs he had to order. And when I decided to do LASIK, he took the time to call me and walked me through what to expect during the procedure and after post-surgery care. He seriously is the best optometrist! read more

I had a rough time getting the kids out of the house for soccer today, and it ended up with me sitting on my Cartier prescription sunglasses in the front seat of my car. The frames were bent, a lens popped out, and they were looking like a loss. I called 20-20, brought them in, and 15 minutes later, good as new. They did excellent work, and there are no lingering signs of damage. Very friendly and pleasant as well. I'll be back when it's time to update my prescription. read more

20/20 is amazing! I've gone here ever since there was only 1 doctor, and to see it what it has grown into truly amazes me. Everyone is amazing here from the amazing lady at the front desk, to Nina who helped pick out some amazing frames for my glasses. She was not pushy when she helped me select the frames and lens options. Spent 25 minutes at this location today, just to have four pairs of glasses adjusted. Nina is superior when it comes to making your glasses fit properly. She "sees" the problem/s and makes the adjustments accordingly. Have used 20/20 in San Ramon as well as San Mateo for the past 20+ years. You are the best advocate for your eye health. Really do not get the mixed reviews here. I have visited twice, now 50, and have to admit it is time for my first set of glasses. I have gotten away with reading glasses, but Dr. Na said that would not last. Now at this appointment, I see he was right if I wanted to be able to see better, both close up and far. What a genuinely friendly staff he has! I filled out the preliminary paperwork and off we went to the blinky-light machine (not sure what it is called, one eye gets covered and you click a button when you see the light). Then off to visit with Dr. Na. He will run you through the tests with lens as I am sure this is typical. Then he discussed with me how I saw things, fuzzy, and the like. I said it was not bad, but when changes happen slowly perhaps I am not really aware. He set the device up with lens and showed me what things COULD look like. I liked what I saw, but this a machine with a slide. He then setup some "glasses" (reminded me of something out of SAW movie) and told me to step into the lobby and look out into the world and what did I think. I looked out at sign about 100 feet away and could actually read it, took off the big glasses and the sign was a blur! (this is the A-HA moment). I then went back to the room where Dr. Na and I discussed. I am a very curious person so I asked questioned and Dr. Na (being so enthusiastic about Optometry) obliged me, answered all my concerns, added with what this all means and what to expect today, tomorrow, and a few yrs from now. What a great communicator. Never got the feeling he was trying to sell me anything, just that he wanted to be sure I knew what WAS and what COULD BE. (Morpheus to Neo: You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.) I took the RED PILL and will get glasses ( I am moving out of the Egyptian Delta away from Denial!) I was met by Erin who was a wonderful help in guiding me to just the right lens, frame, and options. She is a very accommodating and extremely helpful to this newbie. She showed me all kinds of frames and helped me to decide which would look best on my face. Lens, tinting, material, coatings.....she went through it all with expertise while answering and discussing pros/cons of each with me. No rush here! At no time did I ever feel out of sorts, just a customer, or that this practice was just in it for the money. I truly feel their passion for their work when I visit 20/20 and just cannot figure out why others have not had the experience I have enjoyed, they did not provide detail or it was a very old review and the staff has "turned over" so those are no longer valid. Well Nina the office manager called me several times following up with my complains. She offered a full refund on contact lense check up. Although they made a mistake in the beginning but they are dedicated to make their customers happy. They are also willing to change their practice and let customers know in advance what their cost is. All in all it is a decent business. I will be their customer again. read more

I have been a patient of 20/20 Optometry for 3 years now. The doctors (there are 2 now) are very welcoming and friendly. The staff are great and very knowledgeable about choosing frames and can also answer any contact lens questions you may have. The taught me how to put my contacts in and take them out properly when I first started wearing them. Also, they have a huge selection of frames with a lot of major designers. Prada, Gucci, Armani, Oakley, Oga, Coach, Kate Spade etc...They are also very competitve in their pricing. I shopped around before selecting my glasses with them. Dr. Na is not too friendly. Also, they made many mistakes, and refused to admit it. That resulted in higher costs and wasted a lot of time. The glasses had to be redone and I had to return each time. The staff is very friendly, however. Dr. Na could improve by learning to imagine himself as the patient experiencing his manner. Then practicing a warmer, more upbeat approach. Better staff training on technical matters would help too. read more

Nina Nguyen does a wonderful, careful job of adjusting glasses so that they are comfortable and well-fitting. I bought a very expensive pair of glasses here. After some time, the threads stripped on one eyepiece and the screw fell out, I went back and they "fixed" it by jamming in a larger screw. An optometrist whom I trust later said that the lenses were not placed correctly in front of my eyes. I'm not impressed. read more

I've been taking my daughter here for about 7 years for contact lenses. She's had several different doctors who have been fine. Nothing spectacular, but for what she needs it's been sufficient. The staff however is constantly changing and are often subpar. The most frustrating thing for me is when I call to order contacts it often takes several days (last time ONE WEEK!) of phone tag to get this done because they require a credit card over the phone before they will ORDER them. I work in a classroom during the day and it's difficult to make daytime phone calls. I would think after being a dependable customer for 7 years who has always paid on time or EARLY they could order contacts without advance payment! The last gal didn't even call me for a week, insisted she did as if I lied, and was not at all apologetic. Life's too short, I would rather support a more caring and stable business. read more

Excellent, proffesional, friendly service. I had an unusual situation where a contact broke up and got stuck under my eyelid and I could not correct. I walked in to the office mid day. I had never been to this office previously. I am not a regular patient, this office was not covered with my existing eye care insurance. None of that mattered to the staff or doctor Yan. Without an appointment, they had me fixed up in less than 15 minutes. The front office staff was incredibly friendly and quickly worked with me to gather information. The doctor was able to remove the broken pieces of my lens from my eye quickly. She continued to thoroughly check my vision and ensure there were no lingering after affects. I was able to get my prescription from my regular doctor, and this office had the contact in stock. I walked out with good vision and enjoyed an outstanding customer experience.
