I wish I would have written down the young man's name. He was so mannerly and attentive. We ordered a club with fries and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. Our 6 year old typically shares with one of us. Sometimes he only eats fries. My husband's club was great and so was my bacon cheeseburger. I prefer hand cut fries, so I was not a fan of the crinkle cuts. They were just not a great quality either, but our son liked them. We will be back or order takeout soon. read more

Great family restaurant. Very nicely decorated and clean. We stopped in late afternoon just before dinner hours and it was filling up just as we were leaving. They have a robust menu with fresh soup and daily specials to suit every diners needs. We ordered the crab cakes and fried flounder filet as our entree and both were very good. Each dinner entree comes with a choice of two sides to choose from for that day. We got Cole slaw and banana pudding for ours that were excellent. The fries were nothing special. Of course we had to order a dessert to take home. The chocolate layer cake was divine. The menu options available, booth seating (large and small) available and efficient friendly service makes this a perfect family restaurant. read more

We went to eat for dinner time during the weekend. The service was great, good family atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. Food arrived timely. We had dietary issues and easily found something to eat from their vast menu. Their chicken was moist, sauces flavorful, and their banana pudding was delicious. I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it was delivered well done I eat the food that is brought to my table, but my husband convinced me to send it back because it was not what we had ordered the waitress returned, saying They hadhad no more prime rib to make it medium rare so they offered me a ribeye and I said that would be fine. Would have loved to give this place a better rating but sadly am not able to. I ordered the homemade chicken and dumplings with a side of mashed potatoes and macaroni. The chicken and dumplings was very good and very authentic but came out lukewarm, as if it had been sitting in a big pot all day long. The mashed potatoes had absolutely no flavor but the brown gravy did give it the life it desperately needed. The macaroni and cheese looked like it was going to be delicious but was honestly just extremely mushy. (My three year old wouldn't touch it and that's saying a lot.) Everyone was very friendly and our waitress was just the sweetest. I think I'll give it one more try, hopefully it'll be a better experience. read more

Sometimes the little family owned restaurants are way better than the big chains. This restaurant was nothing fancy on the outside or inside but the food was great! I had the fried flounder, cole slaw and broccoli and it was great! I wish I took a picture, sorry, but it was one very good - the broccoli was the first to go. It was cooked to perfection and had the right amount of seasoning on it. I highly recommend the slaw too, definitely on my top five best. I felt like I was eating with one big happy family band the owner who was at the register was very talkative and friendly. Been putting off this restaurant because the outside looks dirty and run down. The environment is great, country-style mom and pop place with an old feel. My food is not good however. I got the Wednesday hamburger steak lunch special, comes with gravy and onions. I also got Mac and cheese and green beans as my side. Green beans were fine, Mac and cheese was really watery and mostly just noodles, but the hamburger steak... I thought they accidentally had given me a soup instead. This is our new family favorite go-to restaurant since we moved to the area. We've ordered take out many times as well as dining there and have never been disappointed. Service is great and they're always very personable when we pick up. I love all of their sides and the salmon is my personal favorite. What a horrible experience. This place would last about 5 days in a competitive market. After waiting 20 minuets, I went back to the hostess and told her that no had been by to get our drink order. When our waitress did arrive, she told us she was new and that the hostess didn't tell her she had another table. Great. We asked for some bread if possible to pacify the kids while we waited God knows how long for our food. She returned with our drinks, no bread. How was the food? How do you think it was? Ribs were too sweet and dry. Fries were cheap frozen crinkle cuts. Greens were cold and old. How did the rest of the table fare? Flounder breading was too thick and bland. Fish was not fresh tasting and had an odd odor. Corn and green beans were under seasoned and tasted like they had been in a can for quite some time. We were just about done when she brought some bread. They did do something right. They really know how to bake a potato. read more
