Solid weekend brunch. I tried the frittata and the breakfast nachos. The frittata had a creamy eggplant and feta filling inside a fluffy egg exterior. It was served with a fried breadstick, and I thought it went well with a bit of hot sauce. The breakfast nachos were also great - it's really just a regular plate of nachos (beans, pickled jalapenos, pico de gallo, queso, sour cream) with a sunny side egg on top, but it was still very tasty. The queso had a subtle heat to it that I enjoyed. My friends also tried the breakfast burrito bowl and the MEG sandwich, and they seemed to enjoy those as well. Four entrees split amongst the three of us, plus one coffee, ran to about $117 after tax and tip. This puts the cost right around with other brunch places, but it ended up being a pretty heavy meal and I'd order one less dish next time. read more

21 Greenpoint Is a restaurant in the northernmost neighborhood of Brooklyn close to the East river shore. They describe their cuisine as "New American" fare, which didnt mean much to me because I've heard that term to describe just about anything that doesn't fit into traditional categories. Their menu has selections with a wide variety of ethnic influences: mexican, italian, french and American. I wouldn't call the serving portions "tapas" but I do see a common theme of smaller dishes served a la carte. Call it an adult version of a Kids menu. The cocktail I ordered was an old fashioned, which was not terrible but nothing id rave about either. I ordered their Burger at a temperature of medium rare but it came to me dry and really well done. Sent it back and asked to have it taken off the check which they gladly did. I would consider trying this place again but its not likely I'll be back. There are so many alternatives in the area that I have yet to explore. read more

We happened upon this restaurant while staying in the area and were absolutely delighted by the service and the ambiance! The food was absolutely delicious as well, we had the burrata salata which had a lavender honey drizzle that made it stand out! The Spaghetti Meg Ryan hit all the high points with delicious meatballs and finished with a bit of a kick! Our waiter, Jackson was great and gave us very personable service and the owner, Homer spent time talking to us and even gave us a couple of hats from his "private stash"!! Came here for a late brunch with a couple of friends and it was very chill. The place is bigger than it looks on the outside with nice sky-lighted seating in the back. We got the wedge salad (3.5/5), jalapeño cornbread (4/5) breakfast bowl with veggie chorizo (4.5/5) and shrimp and grits (4/5). Everything was solid, overall a pretty solid brunch place. read more

What an intimate and fun spot! This is a small space so highly recommend making a reservation. We went on a Sunday evening and it was easy to get a table. I will say the menu is limited but everything we ordered was tasty and good portion size. We started with the nachos without chicken, which I was hesitant about ordering but it turned out being a hit. It has a slight kick to it, which I enjoyed. I'm glad they put black beans for protein. We also got the spiced nuts, which tasted like they had some Cajun flavors. I got the spaghetti as my entree and it was so simple but flavorful, which is exactly what I wanted! Sunday brunch for 2. Thanks to my friend Frannie, I was introduced to this gem for a delicious brunch after an interactive art show at The William Vale on a Sunday afternoon. First of all, the place is so design-appealing, with rounded shelving, a half-circle counter bar area, the cutest window frames, colorful tiled tables and gorgeous tiled floors, friendly plants. Even their outdoor parkette is well-design and an extension of their indoor area with a beautifully tiled floor. It really is a designer's eye candy! We both ordered the chilaquiles and added grilled shrimp which was phenomenal. I ate every bite! From the delicious sauce, to the fresh herbs to the perfectly crunchy (not soggy) tortilla chips -- every bite was a delight. I couldn't believe there wasn't a line out the door when we arrived without reservations. The vibe is chill and relaxed which was just what we wanted. Really disappointed with this one. While the outdoor space was beautiful, 21 Greenpoint missed the mark with most of the dishes we ordered. I had the steak frites and substituted the fries for the cooked kale, but the kale was excruciatingly salty while the steak came out cold. We tried the crispy artichokes as one of the appetizers and it just didn't wow us, especially for the price point. The burrata with lavender honey was honestly the only thing that saved the day here. And if you're looking to eat expeditiously, this isn't the place for you. I understand that many restaurants are understaffed these days, but there was little communication with our server -- she didn't take our app orders until we had been sitting for about 30 minutes. I would reluctantly give 21 Greenpoint a second chance, only to try out its dessert. read more

GREAT GREAT GREAT - went on a Wednesday so it was pizza night and the pizza was delish. We had the meg Ryan (the group loved the spicy sauce!) we also had the Hawaiian and the squash pizza with kale. All were excellent. What really stole the show were the apps, the wedge salad was phenomenal and the artichokes and calamari were insane! Loooooooved this place. We went on a Wednesday, when they serve pizza and they were so good we went through three pies. The ingredients were delicious and the pizzas were perfectly baked and so flavorful. The ambiance felt very cozy, with mood lighting, candles, and plants all around. Brooklyn has so many new and interesting restaurants opening up everywhere, it is not easy to keep up. The name of the restaurant is the address of the restaurant, makes it easy to find and to remember. It was pretty packed, and seemed rather small. They had a bar right at the entry, and very small amount of seating... But, we discovered they actually have more seating in the back with bigger tables! The back room was very nice and cozy, quiet and relaxing. Well, until this room got filled up. We ordered a few items since we were all hungry. We got a Special Pizza of the Day, which was white pizza with mozzarella, permesan, and pepperoni. It had quite the punch from the chili flakes, good and spicy! We also ordered a Market Fish, which was Scottish trout. The fish was very much like salmon. It had great mix of fish and sweet watermelon! The last item we ordered was Pork Chop New York. The pork chops was nothing like I imagined, and quite tasty! The meat was packed with flavor with perfect amount of seasoning. For dessert, we asked what the "Seasonal Cobbler" is, and we were told it is apple and pear. It came out piping hot, rather small but since we were full, that was ok. It had some rosemary that added aroma and flavor which was quite pleasant. It was not too herb-y but just enough. I was used to getting ice cream with cobbler in the past, but their cobbler does NOT come with ice cream. So, we added order of ice cream as well. We chose Vanilla and Blueberry Olive Oil ice cream. The ice cream came out first, and it took a while for the cobbler to come out. So about the time the cobbler finally reached our table, the ice creams were gone... The service was good and friendly. We were taken care of nicely, felt welcomed in a relaxing atmosphere. It was a good find on the restaurant, with good food and service. The price point is rather high, though. read more

Seated in the back room table for 3. It was a nice evening, their first night open since January. The ambiance was really nice with tee light candles around the room and dimmed light fixtures. Very cozy vibes. We ordered a salad, burger, steak and fries. All which were delicious. Definitely would come back! Our waitress also was so kind and recommended the bottle of wine which was medium body, red. Perfect pairing with the steak and burger. I think the fries alone was the highlight. I could have a bowl of those crispy fries and a bottle of the wine and leave so happy! They do charge service fee 3.50%, likely due to Covid times and restos taking a hit? We didn't mind of course! Love! We came in on a Saturday afternoon for brunch, got seats at the bar and were served by a lovely bartender who was friendly and super attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy and the decor was spot on. I had a margarita pizza with 2 eggs on the side and it was beyond good - one of those meals when you just stop talking and enjoy the food. My fiancé got the brunch burger and had the same feeling as I did, so good! Highly, highly recommend this place. Definitely our new go-to spot. We enjoyed an outdoor, chill, and delicious brunch at 21 Greenpoint last weekend. I loved the heirloom tomato and eggplant dish. It was fresh and had an incredible smokey flavor. Unfortunately, it wasn't filling enough to stand on it's own so I also ordered a side of their brocomole and chips. YUM! Even this side felt like I was eating something truly special. My boo ordered the chilaquiles verde, which was also delicious. I am looking forward to coming back to try their dinner. Such a cute place. On such a great street- The tables Are Tiny. The drinks are expensive, the staff was nice, but the food, Not so much. Old bay on everything. I came here during my visit to Greenpoint. It was a beautiful sunny day and we sat right next to the window. I turned vegan at the beginning of the year, so eating out has been quite difficult. Often times, I don't have many options. I came here and really did not have many options. Honestly, it wasn't really memorable for me. Though, my friend, lives down the street and she couldn't stop talking about how they used to serve chilaquiles here. She couldn't stop raving about how delicious they were, and how she wishes the owner would bring it back! Dear Homer, please bring back the Chilaquiles!!!! This place is in my neighborhood located right by transmitter park & only a quick 7 min walk from the Greenpoint Ave - G stop. I absolutely love this place, the design of the restaurant is very pretty. I always find myself wanting to take pics of the restaurant. The food is amazing, I've only been during brunch but everything I've had is yummy. The burger & fries are phenomenal. I usually ask for a side of garlic aioli to dip my fries in. The servers & bartenders are also very nice which makes eating alone there enjoyable especially if you eat at bar. The owner homer is typically there. He'll say hello & ask how you're doing. Can I just say that I LOVE this place? No, I really, really loved this place. Where to start? I entered this restaurant after taking the G Train and walking about 5 minutes towards the water. I am not familiar with Brooklyn/haven't been to Greenpoint, but the area reminded me of parts of Manhattan near the west village before it became stupid expensive. The restaurant has a very warm, inviting ambiance and the servers, waitstaff and bartenders were beyond amazing. I met a few friends for a "boys night out" and we had an early dinner with MANY drinks. Being honest, we were a bit noisy, but the waitstaff was more than gracious and brought out drink after glorious drink for our group. I thoroughly enjoyed the beers they had on tap and my friends thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails. I believe the Mezcal cocktail that was on the menu was their favorite. We had a big assortment of food: from Snacks: Shishito peppers - PERFECT! Appetisers: Oven Roasted Cauliflower - omigod, i never knew that cauliflower could be so delicious. Texture was perfect (caulflower still crunchy and outside had a nice crunch as well. great flavors Eggplant Caponata - think tomato sauce with eggplants, olives and glorous seasoning on cute little piece of toast. DEVINE! Salads We got the Mickey's salad. I thought it was just a salad, but one of my friends loved it and we ordered a second. He licked the plate. Not kidding. Pizza ordered the TMNT - pepperoni pizza. Goodness gracious that pizza was good. So good that we ordered 2 of them. Main Course: Chicken Roulade. I have no idea how they made this, but it was awesome. Get this. Desserts: We got Ice cream (all the 4 flavors) - they were delicious We also got the pumpkin cheesecake and not surprising, it was awesome. Watched What About Bob last night, went to Bob's son's establishment tonight. Just as Bob in the hit movie What About Bob starring Bill Murray was excited about family, baby steps, and in general, LIFE, so am I concerning 21 Greenpoint's selection of spirits and dishes. We are currently awaiting my fren to join us for dinner but they let us sit at our table and wait for her instead of making us stand outside like PEASANTS like a lot of other restaurants might make us do to make up for our tardy guest. It was just ok. I'd say if you live close by it's an ok local spot. We came from Queens after hearing about it from the Michelin Guide and we were rather disappointed. A rude, rushed waiter. One of the reds from the Willamette Valley read from Washington on the "by the glass menu" and from Oregon on the "by the bottle" menu. I said Oregon and the waiter felt the need to correct me that it was Washington. Albeit very close, after research it is in fact Oregon (and the bottle even said Oregon) Why the rude correction? The food was ok, edible but nothing special. The martini had one sad olive floating in the vodka. We were forced to order our entire meal at once to "pace the kitchen." Maybe that's becoming the norm these days but really a pet peeve of ours. Because the experience was not great and we had to travel to get there, we won't be returning. When this place was River Styx I had a delicious seafood dish and loved it's charm while my husband didn't like it. After changing names/themes we decided to give it another try. We sat near the windows in what is a very charming spot near the East River in Greenpoint. Not much has changed inside still the same kickass music is being played which was good to find. Staff: we had the same waitress as our first visit to River Styx - she was very good so two thumbs up for her. We ordered the happy hour pizza special where for I think $16 you got a glass of house red or white to go with your pizza so we went for this. If you advertise pizza, I assume you can make it. We had the happy hour stuffed crust pizza - thin and not bad tasting however the amount of toppings was dismal at best and the "stuffed crust" was simply them taking the crust cutting it in half folding it into some sort of triangle that they then supposedly stuffed but if you ask me they piped a teaspoon of ricotta cheese mix there and called it stuffed crust. I'm sorry but don't advertise something that is it not. It was okay but not what we were expecting and really a let-down. We also ordered the hot Italian sausage pizza - if the first pizza was a let-down this one was worse. I mean again, it wasn't inedible but the toppings were so lackluster. I mean when I order a sausage pizza I expect to receive actual bites of sausage not nibbles or scraps of sausage. Just had the best brunch in Greenpoint Brooklyn. Walked into this place when it was fairly empty, and was a bit hesitant at first until the waitress brought out my winter bowl. The dish was so well prepared and full of seasonal vegetables (refer to picture). My boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich which I took a bite of and it melted in my mouth. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly. Three of us had a beautiful Sunday dinner here. This was our second Sunday dinner and it was even better than the first one. The place was still packed at 8pm. We got very lucky to get a table. Every dish was amazing and filling. Most of the dishes should be shared. There were 6 courses including desert. We had a soup, a salad, pizza, pasta with brisket, roasted chicken with root vegetables and a delicious brownie with ice cream. A table next to us had a rice dish instead of pasta, I assume they requested a gluten free options. Our waitress was great, she was very prompt with the drinks.
