I wish I could give them a 0 star. They told us that the towing job would cost around 165 + some overhead when we had called them. THEY CHARGED US 4000!! RIDICULOUS!! They did not negotiate and held our car ransom till we paid them. We have called them multiple times and nobody in their office has been able to explain this insane bill. If your car needs to be towed call Preferred towing or anybody else. DO NOT CALL 24/7!!

If only I could give a lower rating than this... FRAUD ALERT!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! Please stay away from this towing company. They are THUGS. My friends and I went to Fairbanks during thanksgiving break. And our car got stuck in the snow. We ended up calling 24/7 towing(WORST mistake of our lives). The dispatcher first said it would be $165 + some overhead charge and NEVER communicated the anticipated bill and eventually ended up charging us with a bill of $4000 for a simple tow. The locals there, helping us later mentioned: even $300 would have been too much, let alone the 20 times extra charge. It was insanely RIDICULOUS. They took our rental car as ransom. We made endless calls to them to help us understand the ridiculously itemized bill. They couldn't explain a thing. They kept stalling us and transferring our call and kept saying the BOSS is not available. Unfortunately, we had to pay the money to get the car as it was a rental as we had to fly out the next day. I am stunned, even after reading these reviews, they are very much in the business and keep looting people. Somebody REALLY needs to do something.

These guys are straight-up crooks. They spent an hour towing my car out and then took my keys and made me pay them $1,950. They bent the rear control arm and stabilizer, which cost me $436, after my discount (because I work in the industry). Do Not Ever call these guys.

    Insurance fraud in my opinion

Was charged almost $400 to pull our car out of snow, about 10 to 15 minutes of work. Stay far away

This is…read moregoing to be a long story, so if your here just for the review, trust me when I tell you it's rare to find decent, honest and honorable companies these days. Suffice to say that Preferred Towing is most certainly one of the "good guys" and I wholeheartedly recommend them! Read on for more details on how they helped my son. Aliases will be used to preserve OpSec protocols. For weeks we have planned to send our youngest son (we'll call him J here) from New Jersey to Fairbanks to spend Christmas with his brother (we'll call him D here). D's car died while driving yesterday, was disabled, and needed a tow. We didn't know what was wrong. It could be any number of things. But the bad news was that D had already called his mechanic and they wouldn't even be able to look at the car for a couple weeks! D called home and told his brother to cancel the trip! It seemed like an active time together for the two brothers was going to be squashed, and even the simple task of pickup at the airport on Christmas Eve was now a problem. D called Preferred Towing. The driver arrived quickly and D explained the symptoms of the car. The tow operator could have just hooked the car and towed it. Instead, he believed he knew what was wrong. Within minutes of tinkering under the hood D's car was running!! Preferred Towing not only saved the day, but they saved the whole Christmas vacation together for my two sons! They can now go snowboarding and have the freedom to drive around together next weekend. We are so thankful that companies like Preferred Towing have such compassionate, knowledgeable and caring employees! I even tried to buy the crew at Preferred Towing lunch on me but they wouldn't accept! They believe that doing the right thing is is own reward! If you're ever having car trouble in Fairbanks, Alaska give the good folks at Preferred Towing a call (907-456-6767)!

Buyer beware!! Warning!! Buyer beware!! Alert!!…read more If you go here..., spray paint the parts you plan on having replaced before you get any work done! I was billed multiple times for work that was not completed, parts were not replaced or they were replaced with junk and I was charged. If you have front end work done. Make sure your steering wheel is aligned with straight tires as they do not! Trace back any wiring you may have had done as they do not remove burs from the metal or use protective materials for the wires to prevent corrosion or vibrations that can ultimately lead to a vehicle fire. There is no warranty with the substandard shade tree mechanics they have working for them. The down time from needing to repeatedly bring my equipment back for repairs was phenomenal. I had brand new led light bars stolen and numerous parts supposedly replaced or repaired. If you confront the owners they just give you the run around full of excuses. Then when they get sick of hearing you complain they threaten to call the police on you. This is the most unprofessional automotive place I've dealt with in 23 years as a local Fairbanks Alaskan resident. In short, save your money and go somewhere else. Hire the Girl Scouts. I'm sure they are more competent and competitive.
