After 8 calls from my insurance company and several tow companies that couldn't seem to understand there is no address off the side of the Parks Hwy (just a milepost number). The insurance company uses Ajiro who kept calling hungry tow guys who kept asking if it was in a driveway NO it's behind a guard rail in some trees. Didn't believe me that a "regular tow" wasn't going to do it. 3 tow trucks later, after what felt like DAYS of this nonsense, my insurance company let me call a tow myself. Gary from Borealis was the only person that recognized I needed a recovery not just a tow. It was a complicated situation based on where and how I ended up. If you have more than just a "vanilla tow job" give him at call it will save you time and stress. Fair price, great service. He is a no nonsense, skilled operator. read more

Gary at Borealis Towing was a life saver/dream saver this weekend. On Saturday morning my boyfriend set out on the Dalton Highway after a year of driving across the country - making it to the Arctic Ocean was going to be his last big hurrah. Barely 10 miles up the Dalton his alternator belt broke and I got the SOS text from his satellite device that he needed a tow. I started calling companies in Fairbanks from my living room in Austin, TX. The first place I called gave me attitude ("no way, we don't take our trucks on the Dalton and your boyfriends car is a liability", etc). When I called Gary and he seemed ok with running out to the Dalton, I got nervous when he asked what kind of car he was picking up. I said "ok, don't laugh... It's a Ferrari 308". Much to my delight, when he heard that he was actually excited to be able to help out! Told me a story about a Delorian he once helped on the Dalton - I knew we were in good hands. He ran back to his shop to pick up the truck he'd need, even grabbed a friend to come help and made the 2+ hour drive out to get my boyfriend. The absolutely amazing part of this story is that, when they got to my boyfriend and he filled them in on what was wrong (broken belt - he had a replacement and tools but no good working surface to safely jack the car up on), Gary and his buddy offered to help get the car fixed and back on the road. And that's just what they did!! I'll forever be grateful for his willingness to help spend a little extra time - it certainly would've been faster for them to have loaded up the car and shuttled him back to Fairbanks. With the holiday weekend he probably wouldn't have been able to get it fixed in time to make a second attempt. In the end, this car ended up making it to Dead Horse and it's entirely thanks to Gary and Borealis. We're so grateful - thank you, thank you!! read more

They are always willing to work with you and your items in car stay in car till auction. You are allowed to go talk to them about releasing items in car they are good about that. Reliable prompt. Always a friendly & familiar face, small staff of 2. Their competitors are more focused on quanity of customers not quality of service, & its obvious.
