Eagler river location. Customer Service: Amazing! They are under new management and under it they have me feel like family. Prices: I have used five automotive shops in Eagle River and here is among the lowest. I broke down in Fairbanks after driving from my home state of Minnesota. One of your locals recommended Simard automotive down the street from where they live. The vehicle went in and they got a flash to the computer. They tested it out it was fine. I went to pick it up drove down the road to get some gas and it started acting up again same problem. I took it back to them and they went through it found a wire problem of sorts. No extra charge, and we are back in Minnesota! Thanks to all including John! John is very good with customers. After trying to get my Jeep fixed at Gene's and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center on Fort Wainwright and being told multiple different things and that the supposed needed part could not be obtained for 45 days, I was desperate. Brought my Jeep to Simard and within hours was sent a thorough assessment, including photos, along with an estimate and completion timeframe. Turns out it was a sensor issue and did not need major repair/part the other two places told us. Immediate their customer service was world's above Gene's and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center!! My Jeep was fixed quickly, reasonable price, friendly staff. And randomly they fixed a four year old mystery squeak :) read more

Jeep broke down after just as they were closing. They not only stayed open to look at it but they ran to their warehouse and got the alternator and a battery. I just PCS'd inbound in October 2023 from overseas and had to purchase a truck within a few weeks of flying in this great state. I wanted to ensure it was bulletproof while in-processing and getting my home and family situated. I took my truck to the 768 Gaffney location immediately to have them perform their 75-point inspection, multiple system flushes and re-services, and unserviceable component replacements. They had completed the requested maintenance up to the cost of $3000 and I took my truck back home to notice that my engine coolant reservoir was actively leaking in my garage. At this point, I was happy to pay the amount considering they had great reviews and multiple locations indicating they were legitimate. I called the location back to inform them and it turns out the technician put in the notes that this item should be replaced however, it was never in the report given to me and the manager had overlooked this technician request. I took it back for the second time considering that the manager assured me that they would not charge me for this work. After this second visit, I took it home and as I got out of my truck, you guessed it, it was still leaking. I called back, and the manager had messed up once again by not having the part replaced at the technician's request. The manager assured me that I would not be paying for labor and just the cost of the part and that they will take care of the leak. They replaced the engine coolant hose assembly and told me that it was good to go and that the cost of this part was $180 (after researching on rockauto.com it is $30). After this third trip to this location within a span of a month, I took this truck directly home and as I got out of my truck, wouldn't you know it, still leaking out of the same place. I have now ordered another coolant hose and reservoir and will be doing the maintenance myself at the base auto hobby shop because I can't trust any of the maintenance performed at this location. To all of my military folk, avoid this place like the plague. This place is either a corrupt money trap or employs incompetent mechanics that will cost you more maintenance cost to your vehicle. read more

Had my van towed there from Healy to have the timing belt replaced. Asked for a estimate and was told 3 different times he was working on it and would call when done. meantime had the engine check done on it. What a waste of money. Didn't tell me anything I already knew but also missed 2 items I planed on replacing my self. But did say I needed struts (replaced year ago), rear shocks, wheel bearing and my tires where of different tread. last I checked those are not on the engine! Should have spent that time doing a compression check instead. Got quoted $500 more than the estimate from other shop. No wonder it was easy to get an appointment there, no one can afford their high prices! read more

Do not use this place for any repairs.I towed my car there paid $316 now I'm towing it back home. Only thing they said is I can try to replace my pcm or car computer but it might or might not fix my problem.This place is just a chevron gas station and they really don't know how to fix cars just can pump your gas if that's what you need.Im referring to the one on gafney rd I don't know anything about the other ones. read more

I've had my car serviced there a few times so far (Gaffney location). As far as the quality of their work, they're great. I've never had any issues anytime I picked up my car. The pricing is fair. It's slightly pricey, but it's worth it. Service is done pretty quick too. They have a lockbox system where you can drop/pick your car off after hours(big plus+). They're customer service is great. Very friendly and cordial. They don't try to get over on you. I'm going to them as long as I'm in Fairbanks. read more

I usually go to Jiffy lube for an oil change, chassis lube and (including) the 12-24-35 point inspection. Reason I decided to give these guys a try is because Jiffy lube, Mobile 1 etc. don't ever do what they say their going to do. Example: 1) After a chassis lube I look under my truck and notice nothing has been touched. 2) Pull my truck out and the oil plug is leaking oil. 3) Blow all my fuses etc.Although the main reason I wanted to take it to a shop was because I had a break light that was out (too lazy to fix myself). I seen that Simard has some good reviews (not a single bad review, out of over 600???). So I decided to give them a call. I ask the guy on the phone to go over their prices and what is included in the 15000 mile 75 point inspection. The price was $150. He stated an oil change was not included ($99), So I asked what am I getting other than a kid filling out a inspection check list?He stated they flush this, they flush that and they rotate the tires...I'm like oh cool...I am getting something other than paying for them to fill out a simple checklist. I take the car in at 8AM, as per requested. They have shuttle service (round trip), that was nice. I get a call at 4:15 notifying me that my ride is at my house ready to take me back to the shop (nice).Arrive at the shop at 4:50, was told my car has not been inspected yet. Waited, waited...cars good to go now. ;-) So they go over the paperwork, tell me all the minor (Minor, thankfully) issues my vehicle has. Find out the tires do not get rotated (only upon request), nothing has been flushed, misunderstanding, I'm OK with that and will take it as a misunderstanding on my part. So You are still getting a kid, just filling out a checklist for $150.  They did give me a free oil change for the misunderstanding, and even offered a discount in place of the free oil change if I wished (no bother I was already bummed out and half asleep from resting on their couch for 40 min.).  All in  all I get a less than 35 (could have been 10 min what do I know, they close at 5:30) minute, 75 point checklist for $150. I will give them the benifit of the doubt.  I am not pleased or overly upset, just a bit exasperated.   Question is, why did they come get me an hour earlier before closing time...why would they not take the tires off and rotate them if they have to anyway (to check the brake pads)...why would they wait till closing time (having the car all day) to give a 75 point checklist, what if something was wrong with the car, no time to make any (brake light) corrections? As I am driving out of the parking lot I notice my Brake light in the reflection of the shop window, I think oh, ok the brake light is working I look to see if the other brake light is working, can't see it in the reflection. I thought about driving backward to readjust as to see the other brake light's reflection (to see if it had been fixed), I remembered the checklist that we had gone over, there was no mention of a brake light that was out, I assumed that meant they had fixed it as per my request...being that I paid for it to be fixed.  So what we have here is a 75 point checklist turn into a "less than 75 depending on time...only have 30 minutes, want to get home lets hurry and make this a 75/30 'main points' checklist!  Before I submitted my Vehicle to these guys I was viewing their Reviews online. I noticed that they had only good reviews. At first I thought they must really aim to please, If somebody has an issue they must go above and beyond to make it right...I mean 600+ reviews and all have nothing bad to say, right?  So I give them a call and have to leave a message Quote: "I see you guys didn't fix my Break light, thanks" End quote.   I get no response, no call back...not that I care but It kinda puts a kibosh on my theory of them really going all out to make it right for those that have an issue with the work that has or not been done. It is statistically impossible to have 600+ reviews and not a one bad review...their a statistical oddity.  Although I am not overly displeased, I kinda expect auto shops to be in it for the $$$ and not the Job. Its hart to find good help these days, not much chance finding a kid that is conscientious about his work nor is it possible to find an auto shop that is either. I will put their reviews back in balance...there, now they gain and additional star. I'm sure this review won't make it on their home page. Update: Turns out they did make it right. I received a full refund and a free oil change. I had ignored their attempt to contact me (what's the use, right), Mike Really wanted to make it right. Its easier to get forgiveness than permission mike always is willing to whip out the checkbook when someone has a neg review forgiveness is pretty easy to get when you buy it. But maybe u should keep a closer eye on what is going across the front counter I honestly wonder how he sleeps at night I've been working in the automotive industry for 20 years and just cause you have smooth talking counter people that give customers the warm and fuzzys about paying to much doesn't make it right. read more

The staff was great, especially given the current situation with COVID-19. They spoke with me and made an appointment to have my truck looked at. I knew that I was leaking power steering fluid and explained that I worked in the medical field and had only 1 vehicle and needed to know how long I would be out my vehicle. Everything I was told, the staff held true to their word, it was great. They even gave me pictures of my inspection it was so thoughtful and helpful. read more
