This is a new restaurant, opened a little over a month and attached to a gas station "travel center". With that in mind, I'll try to be fair. We were greeted right away and the service remained good throughout our meal. We started with a cup of chili which was pretty good. It had just enough heat/spice and the meat was chunky and tender. When asked if it was made in house, our waitress said "Yes, my boss makes it". :) Unfortunately the meal went downhill after that. I ordered a BLT which had very little bacon on it. What bacon there was, was burnt and very crumbly. Not a solid strip on it. My husband ordered the fish sandwich. The fish was fresh and fried perfectly. The only problem is that is was catfish. Generally a fish sandwich is something like Cod or at least not a bottom feeder fish. It was supposed to be served on a hoagie roll, but was served on a regular bun. Which fell apart. The fries are pretty good. I don't think they are house made, but still fried just right. For the location and being newly opened, it was not the worst place we could have picked. Hopefully a little time and experience will bring it up a notch.

The food was delicious for a 45 minute wait and a sub-par customer service. Highly recommend the BLT.

We stopped midday on a recent road trip to this small town burger spot with 50s diner charm and friendly people. Just off the freeway a bit, this is a great place for a tasty meal, ice cream dessert or snack pleaser We enjoyed some fried pickles while we waited for our tortilla burgers ( we added avocado). The pickle chips and ranch dressing was good but a little too salty for my liking. The tortilla burger was a veggie loaded cheesy smashed beef burger in two fried tortillas. Greasy but good. Fall all apart but finger-lickability. With a side of hot fries, this filled us up quickly. But not too full to not partake in an ice cream shake for the road. Needless to say, we couldn't move for a good two hours but we felt great having a bucket list item checked and a satiated palate.

The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, which made a big impression on our whole family. We also appreciated the Christian decor throughout the restaurant and enjoyed learning that members of the team participate in an annual mission trip to Guatemala. There was even Christian merchandise available for purchase to help support those trips, which was a really meaningful touch. The food was just as good as the service. Our kids were very happy with the chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers--fair warning, the burgers are HUGE and come with a very generous portion of fries. Everything felt like classic comfort food done right. We also tried the chicken tenders, fried okra, and tater tots, and all of it was delicious. I ordered the hamburger steak plate with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables, and it was flavorful, filling, and exactly what I was hoping for. The only "regret" we had was not ordering the onion rings--they looked incredible when we saw them come out for another table! If you're in Victoria and looking for a friendly, family-oriented spot with great food, this is definitely worth a visit.
