Pad kra pao with chicken (10000/10): juicy, flavorful, & not too salty. Neal said the fried egg was perfect. I decided to go to 246 on my lunch break and get the beef tom yum soup. I got the 4 spice level which was the spiciest level. They did warn me but I do like spicy. Next time I will go with 3 . On Sunday evening, I ordered a to-go meal from 246 Thai Grab and Go: one Som Tum and one Kao Man Gai Tod (fried chicken with rice). I saved the meal for lunch the next day, and that was a huge mistake. The chicken had a strong, disgusting rotten smell, like it had been sitting for weeks and was clearly spoiled. I immediately threw the entire meal away. This was not just disappointing -- it was alarming. Chicken is cheap and easy to source. If you are charging $15 per plate, there is absolutely no excuse for serving old or unsafe food. This is a serious food safety issue. What if someone actually ate this and got food poisoning? I strongly warn others to be careful ordering from this place. Food safety should never be taken lightly. read more

Overall, this place is cute and we enjoyed our meal. I'm not running back to Frisco to go here but would definitely stop back in if I was in the area. The chicken curry puffs were so surprisingly delicious! They were flaky and full of tasty chicken curry filling! I loved the Tom kha soup. It was a good size portion and reheated well the next day. The panang curry was good but not amazing. I was disappointed that their curry does not come with vegetables; you have to add them. I randomly found 246 Thai Grab and Go and now I'm obsessed. This place serves real Thai street food with dishes you don't usually see at standard Thai spots. The boat noodles were incredible - like a Thai version of pho. Super savory, comforting, and satisfying. This is my favorite dish I've tried here. The pad thai is saucy with a slight sweetness, exactly how I prefer it. They give very generous portions which I appreciate. I come here quite often despite living 40 minutes away and can confirm everything is authentic Thai. This is also the only Thai restaurant in a Japanese/Chinese/Korean dominant food area. My favorites are the boat noodles and the Isan grilled chicken with tamarind dipping sauce with sticky rice. The ambiance is casual and the service is great. You order at the cashier, they give you a small paper cup for anything at the soda fountain. Then, they bring your food on a tray to you. 100/100 recommend! read more

I recently stopped into 246 Thai Grab & Go for take out. I placed an order through Chow Now linked on their website. Placing the order was easy and notifications were given through the app that you can install. During lunch time I saw many people stop in to grab an order. I ordered Panang Curry that is cooked in yellow chilies, lemongrass, galangal and spices including turmeric. You can choose between chicken, ground chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu or vegetables. You can also adjust the spicy level from none to level 4 (on fire/burn). I also ordered Drunken Noodles with wide rice noodles, bell peppers, onions which are stir fried with Thai basil sauce. You can also choose your protein on this dish or just add vegetables. There is a slight charred flavor to the drunken noodles which is amazing. This dish is hands down going to be something you crave regularly. There is easy parking as well as plenty of seating if you choose to eat in. read more

I had the yellow curry with shrimp, I'd love to try more of the food next time I'm in the area. The curry had a wonderful flavor and spice was perfect (2/4) it came out very hot. I typically like more coconut cream flavor but it was very flavorful. The shrimp were beautiful. It was a bit pricy $20 because of the $4 upcharge for shrimp. I saw around 4 shrimp so it's a bit on the higher end upcharge in my opinion but it tasted great! The potato and carrots could be softer. It did come with rice and that makes me happy. Loaded with beefy and herbal flavor and they are very generous with the beef. Whenever I'm craving a flavorful and meaty soup, I come here. They do have some other dishes like the poached chicken, fried chicken rice, and other classics. Absolutely not. The 4 entrees I got weren't worth $84 and btw I didn't get a free drink for checking in so that promotion seems to be over. (I did buy one. That was another $6. It was a small bottle of tea but tasted good) For one thing, the Pad Se Ew hit the spot- it was soft with great texture and flavor. I consider this a very basic menu item that is near impossible to mess up. But everything else was upsetting. Dry, poorly presented clumps of sauceless dry noodles and dry chicken with a lot of fat and SKIN on it. My first bite was all chicken skin. Very unappetizing. I'm almost positive they left out the coconut curry as described on the menu I with the Kao Soi Gai. It was some chicken and noodles and rice with little sides of onions and cilantro, a very basic build your own dish, just without any of the moisture or sauce. Very poor takeout experience. Definitely not worth $84 and I'm the loser for bringing home these upsetting dishes to the family. This was my first time and last time. In total we got 4 dishes: Tofu Pad See Ew, Pork Pad Kee Mao, Chicken Curry, and Chicken with Rice. The tofu pad see ew was tasty and appropriately portioned. They used fried tofu and included some broccoli florets as well. But for the money paid, I expected there to be more broccoli. An entire crown of broccoli costs $1 and I was only given 5% of it, lol. Seems stingy if you ask me. The pork pad kee mao was good. P2 ordered it Thai spicy level 2, which is an American spicy level 6 of 10. The dish was delicious as well, and we had to take home leftovers. The curry chicken is how one might expect. Standard curry dish that's hard to mess up. The dish included potato and carrot chunks, as well as a plate of rice to eat. The chicken with rice reminded us most of Chinese Hainan Chicken, except they served it with a different sauce. But the chicken was seasoned and very yummy. Large portions of chicken with this dish, much to our delight! All in all, not a bad place to get Thai food. Food is phenomenal and fresh. My one complaint is the Thai tea is bottled. So, it's not as fresh. But be warned, the spicy scale is authentic, not Americanized. If you can't handle a normal level 3, say "no spice". Level 1 here is a level 3 elsewhere. Level three here is beyond what most Americans can handle. Don't be brave. Kao soi was an off menu curry soup special. I typically would not order this as most places make it overly sweet and too heavy on the coconut cream. We had a wonderful dinner at 246 Thai and enjoyed Crispy Duck and Crispy Chicken with Basil -- both delicious. For dessert, by all means try the Flan with sticky rice. The noodle curry soup dish was very flavorful and the noodles had a nice chewy texture. The fried noodles added on the top of the soup was like a crouton and added yet more texture to the dish. The larb gai was ordered without any spice and it was not at all spicy yet still bursting with the lime-h fish sauce flavor. Full of umami. I got boat noodles, but noticed it wasnt as saucey as i thought it would be, but it had a pretty good spice to it (i got level 4 spiciness). The noodles could have been better, but wasnt bad. The chicken was nice and crispy, but could have been fried a little less. The thai tea was good, and came in a bottle, in which I found to be cool. The thai tea came at a good price, and was quite cheaper than other places with thai tea. This place is generally a to go place, and so they were quick to bring the food. They also had the option of a QR code to order your food on your phone, or just order in person at the register. The place was very clean, and well kept. I would recommend this place. read more

The food is garbage and you will loose your money. We asked to exchange our food for something else but the girls said no and even called their manager and he also said no! That's insane. This little restaurant hidden in the corner of the 99 Ranch Frisco plaza is definitely worth a try. I got the Kok Mai Gai for takeout and it was very quick to pickup. The workers seem pretty friendly as well. Kok Mai Gai is a turmeric chicken and rice dish and a great pick if you're looking to expand out of the usual picks. The spicy cilantro sauce was the STAR, I wish I could buy a bottle. Not too spicy for my American tastebuds, but still brings a good amount of refreshing heat. The portion was also quite big, definitely enough for some leftovers. Would love to come again and try their other dishes! read more
