The first stop is Simply Thai Bistro. It's a simple Thai restaurant with some good options. We enjoyed the Jungle Curry and Pad See Ew. We did not like the Papaya Salad at all. It didn't taste right. Maybe the Papaya wasn't ripe enough and the marinade was fermented? When we asked for Thai spicy, we didn't get it. All dishes were fairly mild. Counter service was great. read more

We have been eating here about 5 years now, and it's about time I did a review. The staff inside are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. If you are eating in the restaurant, you'll have to order at the window and they will deliver your food to your table when it is ready. As a designer, I'm not a huge fan of the décor in the restaurant, I feel it could really use a makeover. However, the restaurant is in a great location and has a nice patio that overlooks Main Street. The food here is absolutely wonderful. It's always cooked to perfection and we always receive piping hot food. Our favorites are the curry dishes. My favorite is the Green Curry with veggies, my daughter loves the Yellow curry with chicken, and my spouse loves the Massamun curry with tofu. My daughter has also had the Beef with broccoli here in the past, it looked and smelled great. Other than that, we've really never tried any other dishes here because we always crave the curries. One day we will explore some of their other menu options.   We almost always order carryout and call in our order in advance of pick up. They do get pretty busy on the weekends, so just make sure you call in early to reduce your wait time. They are almost always pretty accurate on the time they tell you your food will be ready to pick up. The curries always come in plastic containers and the rice comes in a Styrofoam box. If you crave something delicious with spice and flair, I highly recommend you try Simply Thai Bistro. It truly is tasty satisfying food, at a great price. read more

Simply thai is one of my favorite Thai places. The approach is pretty straight forward, no fuss about ordering or seating. You grab a menu and order food at the counter, food is usually ready in few minutes. I must say the ambience is decent nothing to complain about and also kid friendly. My kids were comfortable with the food too. So far we have tried edamame, wings, soup, curry and noodles. Pad Thai is my favorite dish when it comes to Thai. And this place makes it pretty good. This review is based on a single takeout visit, but it was good enough that I had to write a quick review. Being in town for business I was in the mood for Thai and found Simply Thai Bistro was close to my hotel. The reviews seemed positive so I decided to give it a try. It was a good choice. I got the chicken with red curry (heat level 4) and a side of the vegetable crispy spring rolls to go. I've had a lot of red curry chicken in my travels and theirs is one of the best I've had. The portion size was pretty typical and it had plenty of chicken as well as Thai eggplant, red peppers, and bamboo shoots. Flavor of the curry was excellent and the level 4 heat was plenty hot and had me sweating pretty good by the time I was done. The crispy spring rolls were good, but were a little soggy. I really can't ding the restaurant for that as fried foods don't necessarily travel well, and I knew that when I ordered. I would imagine that if I had eaten at the restaurant they probably would have been much crispier. Oh, and did I mention the staff was very friendly and helpful? They were! I think from order placement to heading out the door with my food was probably about 10 minutes. Excellent service all the way around. read more

You go inside to order, but they ask you to wait in your car till your order is ready. #corona sucks. They bring your order out to the car, so you hope it's all there. Back to the hotel! The chicken Pad Kee Mow was wonderful. Big pieces of chicken and lots of veggies. The sauce was a perfect 3 star spicy. I liked the wide noodles. The chicken spring rolls were great. We have been customers of Simply Thai for over 2 years now and although not the best Thai restaurant, they have always been consistent and "good enough" to keep you coming back. So this is not a spur of the moment review. Yesterday we got takeout - Basil Fried rice and Singapore Noodles- which is standard fare for any Thai restaurant. Unfortunately both items were sub-par, lacking in flavor and probably made with ingredients that weren't fresh. One thing about Thai places is the abundance of colorful veggies (red peppers, broccoli, scallions, cucumber, tomato etc.) in their dishes...especially the fried rice. Our order had none of that...it was just a couple of sorry pieces of green bell pepper and rehydrated shiitake mushrooms. See the sorry pictures below. Same vegetables in both dishes. COVID19 will separate the bad restaurants from the good. I loved Simply Thai but will not be back. Simply Thai chose to give customers substandard fare instead of being diligent about their inventory. There are better options that NEED and deserve your business. read more

We used to go to the one in downtown Frisco all the time and felt like it was the best Thai place in Frisco .... and then we got really excited when they decided to open another location on legacy drive . Used to like this place ever since a different/closer Thai place changed management. Ordered take-out tonight and got pretty sad portion size in one of the dishes compared to previous orders. Also requested extra broccoli ($1 charge) and there was a pretty disappointing amount of that too. It looked more like leftovers or as if someone had eaten half of it, lol. I called the restaurant after getting home to let them know, but the very friendly CSR told me the owner said they had made it personally and there was nothing they could do. I offered to send pics but that didn't matter. Our other dish (curry) was good. I'm pretty easy to please, and I'm always ready to give an opportunity to make things right. My visit was made one chilly night late last year and my experience has stuck with me since. As rather than being the flat average as a 3 Star Rating would connote, instead they simply have no redeeming qualities and nothing in ways of a 'con' that was particularly unappealing, which would have stuck with me since the first visit. First and foremost, as I like to begin with, their service staff was young, semi-professional and fairly knowledgeable about their menu, although internal discussion was needed. There is an element of self-service here when getting your meals and drinks but for the business size and price point, it's not an issue. The dining section was however rather cramped and loud within the duration of my visit. As for the food, portions were varyingly ample for the price, truly a dish to dish basis, and the flavors there were semi-nonexistent. The relative amount of flavor you 'felt' directly correlated to the spice level you requested. In addition, I wouldn't go towards saying the meals were inauthentic, but they were nothing memorable or unique either. Simply put, they were edible but forgettable. All in all, for the effort made and expectations set, this restaurant wasn't the top of any list, and falls entirely on personal experience in my opinion. I ordered chicken Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle w chicken, and Basil Fried Rice. The Drunken Noodle and Basil Fried Rice had WAY too much soy sauce in them. To the point that this is all we could taste. The Pad Thai wasn't as soy saucey but it was just very, very dry. It almost needed more of something? It also tasted like fish sauce wasn't used in any of the dishes. Simply Thai is our only choice when we need our Thai Fix. In fact we either dine or take out from here atleast 2-3 times a month and the food is always on point. The Red Curry, Pad Thai, Shrimp Prick Pow, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings are usually our go-to faves and they never disappoint! The service is also always friendly and cordial. It's so tasty, however consider yourself warned, their spice gets hot. You ask for level 1-5 for heat. I suggest 3 or below. I love spicy foods, while 4 is edible, it will mess with your belly.
