Went to Wabi House for happy hour with a friend. We tried the sake bomb, edamame, and shrimp dumplings. For mains food, we both had spicy miso ramen (one pork broth, one chicken). I liked the spice, but it was pretty oily. The meat (only ground pork) was sunk at the bottom, unlike other ramen bowls where it's on top and easier to mix. Service was okay, got a wrong extra item at first, and the "spicy" edamame wasn't spicy and took a while to fix. The outdoor seating had a really nice, relaxed vibe. Since it was my first time here and I arrived 5 minutes before happy hour ended, I ended up ordering 7 appetizers and 1 yakitori and got full off of those before I even got to order any ramen. I enjoyed all of the appetizers though. We ordered the crab Rangoon, hamachi rayu, crispy pork ears, shishito peppers, beets and Brussels, takoyakis, and seared scallops. We also tried the beef tenderloin yakitori. All of it was really good. The vibe in here is good and they played good music. Prices are fair; I noticed the menu prices were more affordable than a lot of other ramen spots in DFW, though the portions felt a bit smaller. Traditionally a huge fan of wabi house. My go to food here is the Spicy Misu soup with chicken broth substitution and it's truly amazing as far as texture and flavor. The place is also really cute inside and outside. They also have amazing deals for lunch and happy hour. However although the staff is very friendly the service tonight was not the best. I visited this place with my friend. Our server took our order however brought extra items we did not order and my order which was supposed to be a spicy edamame came as original. Then when we told the waiter he took the extra items away and mentioned will bring a spicy sauce for the edamame on the side. However even mentioning to waiter twice he did not bring the sauce so at this point I asked if he can bring the correct edamame with the spicy on it instead so he took away the original edamame and left. Then when he brought our main order of ramen he swapped our orders and we had to tell him which one was whose order as he did not recall. Then he also had forgotten to bring the spicy edamame which he brought after our main meal came. My friend was also upset as her ramen did not have enough meat. I've loved Wabi House at the Dallas location for years. My recent experience at this location was a bit disappointing. For starters: The seating arrangements felt just a bit off. The host sat my husband and I in one of the tiny booths which I usually don't mind when a restaurant is packed - this was just not the case. Not a huge deal just annoying. Starters: we ordered the beets n Brussels and the chicken karaage. It's very rare for me to send something back - but in this case we had to. I'm used to constantly having to cool the food down as it comes piping hot. This one came out cold. Next, we ordered a sake to have with our lunch and when it seemed like it would never come, the manager brought us whatever was left over in the karafe and said it was "on the house" as they were running low. It was half of the ordered amount but hey it was free. Then as we got our checks, our waiter brought out a fresh bottle of saki. We were already rushing to leave and we had to explain that we couldn't drink it anymore and the manager gave one to us. It's just awkward when communication amongst the staff is missed, especially when we were late to get back to work and wanted a quick lunch. Tons of miscommunication. I love their piping hot and flavorful ramen - tried all except the veggie one. Crazy cheap for such a great bowl! Love both the Shoyu and Tonkotsu. We ordered the gyoza which came out pipping hot and crispy. The bone marrow crab was my favorite. A very unique dish with delicious flavor and the crab was fresh. Wabi house has some of the best ramen I've ever tasted! My wife loves ramen so we are always on tour to find the best in each city. The spicy miso is packed with flavor and the ground pork is a nice touch you get a bite of pork in each bite! Recently we tried the brisket ramen they paired up with Hutchins BBQ and used their brisket it was awesome. Very smoky, peppery, and spicy from the miso broth! Very cool special for their menu. I don't even know where to start here. Everything was so good... I guess I'll start on the alcoholic drink made of lychee. It was delicious. I barely tasted the alcohol and one of my friends that was with me claimed he didn't even think it had any. It definitely did, but it was kind of sweet and just tasted like a slightly carbonated juice. The gyoza was really strange I have to say. It was pork that was just wrapped around and deep-fried. I'm sorry I don't know how to describe it. Just look at the photo... That definitely is not gyoza... But it was really good? I definitely would've rather had what I was expecting to eat, but these are not bad so I can't say I'm disappointed. I tried them. chicken kaarage wasn't bad at all. I really liked the sauce that came with especially mixed with soy sauce. I honestly did not even touch the watermelon with the fried chicken itself was really flavorful and it came with a decent portion I'd say. Onto the good part.. the entrees! The spicy miso was mine, and I don't think there's anything I would've changed about it. I mean, I did change the kind of pork that it use because mine comes with minced pork which I left in, but I also got a side of the chasu. it was like three dollars or something, but completely worth it because the way that they smoke their pork there is out of this world and it is fall off the bone smooth. My broth was the perfect amount of spicy and extremely flavorful. They had a really good portion of noodles and overall I'd be happy to eat this every time I come. One of my friends got the beef udon noodles, and he was extremely satisfied with it. I tried a little bit and it seemed pretty good, but I will say his portion seems smaller than the Ramen. He got full of it and it wasn't like it was a tiny portion, but I didn't notice that it looked like a little bit less food. My other friend got the house special Ramen that is only available after 5 PM and it was so interesting because it came in two separate parts where you had to mix the soup portion into your bowl yourself. I tried a little bit of his and it was absolutely amazing. I'm definitely going to get it next time if I come in after 5 PM. It didn't have any sort of spice so we got chili oil on the side, but it was packed full of flavor. I took a seat at the bar and started looking at the choices. If I were hungrier I would've gotten a bowl of ramen.
