I cannot stress enough to demand a written estimate when working with this company. Although the tech who arrived is kind, knowledgeable, and did his job well, he would only give me a verbal price so what I thought was the total price that I agreed to ended up being double at over $9000 to re key 4 deadbolts, replace 3 knobs, drill out/replace 2 mailbox type keys, install a locking mechanism on the sliding door. I guess I did not comprehend his accent well enough or my hearing failed me. I have since inquired and received estimates from 3 other locksmiths and all 3 came in at under $1000. I paid him under duress and immediately called the main number. I was told the manager would call but I have yet to hear back. Hence, my review. I really feel greatly taken advantage of. read more

Be careful! When I called I asked what the price would be, the dispatcher said the tech would tell me. When they do show up, get in front of the door, they price gauge you. All I needed was the door to be opened, no replacement of any hardware and the guy wanted to charge me $250.00. The other locksmiths I called told me $80-$110 max. SCAM ALERT: Whatever you do, do not use this locksmith. They would not quote anything over the phone and certainly neglected to mention there is a flat $65 technician fee on top of any service. I had a simple door knob (1) that needed to be unlocked and was charged $245 : $175 for the service (well above the market rate for unlocking, no needed hardware etc) and then the surprise $65 technician fee. When I called to dispute the technician fee, I realized it is not a neighborhood business but instead a phone number that spits you to a call center. For shits and giggles, I acted as if I needed service and inquired about a technician fee and they said there was none. There was no one available to discuss the issue with as well. Anyways, totally robbery, save yourself at my expense and do not use/call this company. read more

I think this service dispatches all of their jobs to 3rd party locksmiths, some of whom will unscrupulously upcharge you. This seems to be the pattern with other 1-star reviews and is definitely what happened to us. Be careful dealing with this business because your results will vary wildly. Or better yet, just stay away. In our case, we needed to get our locks rekeyed to address a security concern and while the locksmith came out reasonably quickly, was friendly enough, and got the job done, he majorly overcharged us for the work he did. After adding up the base rekeying fee and various mysterious "labor" charges for about 45 minutes of work, we were on the hook for over $400 for rekeying 2 standard deadbolts and 1 door handle lock with the same key. This was around 5:30pm, so it wasn't an off-hours emergency or anything like that. I thought this seemed suspiciously high, but paid the bill anyway. I then found out from my landlord that something like this should have cost 1/3 of that. I called back the next day to get them to give me a quote over the phone and was told rekeying should cost $75 for the first lock and $25-45 for each additional. With 3 locks, this means the max should have been $165 plus taxes for any hardware. They weren't able to do anything for me except contact the technician to understand why he charged what he did. When you find yourself in the position of needing a locksmith, you are almost always in a position of vulnerability and insecurity, and it's an easy position to take advantage of. You just want the job done and trust an honest professional to do it right and charge you fairly. If something doesn't go well, you're now potentially arguing with a stranger who knows where you live, practically has the keys to your house, AND can pick locks, so in the grand scheme of things, the potential downside isn't really worth quibbling over a couple hundred bucks. But it doesn't mean it's right to take advantage of a trusting customer. A business that employs someone who consistently does that does not deserve additional business. I can understand the need to contract work out to maintain 24/7 coverage, but in doing so, you also need to stand by the integrity and quality of the people you work with and take responsibility for their actions. read more

I hate to rate this, but I'm a little frustrated. I called Sat afternoon about a lost car key and they said they had no technicians available currently and I said I had no problem scheduling an appointment for the next day. I give them my car make and model and they say it's no problem. So the next day rolls around and no one shows up. I get people to are busy, so 2 hours after the appointment I call and they tell me they can't help me.
