Enter Moe (not Curly, Larry or Shemp - which would have been cool) and while it took him a few days and his initiative to hunt down some more relevant parts - the got the project done for me when others could. Their price was fair. They also installed my August "keyless" door locks and solved a tricky problem for me. I write reviews of consumer electronics for a living (I am a publisher by trade) and it is a pleasure to give out this well-earned 5-star review. These guys are in my CRM as my go-to locksmith.

Our lock was damaged from a flood, completely locked up, and somehow he still got into it, checked to see if there was anything inside (bummer, there was nothing). He removed the dial and made some extra drill holes in case our house is ever burglarized it would be clear this is a non-functional safe. Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. I've been going to Ocean Park Lock & Key's little kiosk to get duplicate keys made since it first opened many years ago. They have a wide variety of locks, particularly the old fashioned Yale locks. The man who duplicates the keys is very kind and always happy to help people. He charges low prices for duplicate keys and he doesn't seem to have raised his price despite inflation. I will warn, however, that his kiosk is only open from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday and not open on weekends. The kiosk is conveniently located next to McCarthy's pharmacy and Gelson's supermarket, at the corner of Ocean Park Blvd. and Lincoln. read more

Armando is the BEST! I was in a bind to get a copy of my front door key, and I went to numerous other places to try to do this (e.g., a hard ware store, another place that makes keys, etc.) and it wasn't until I went to Armando that I could actually get a key made. He explained that the key I had was a copy and that was why the other places couldn't duplicate it. He tried to make me one copy and said that it might not work and to give it a try. He didn't charge me - and it totally worked! No-one else could explain what the issue was, and Armando was so caring the entire time. I would go to him again in a heartbeat. read more

THE BEST! Armando was so great. Look, I'm not usually gonna write a review for most stuff, but when a small business goes out of the way to turn your crappy day around, it's worth mentioning. I was absolutely screwed if I couldn't get a bent key duplicated, and this dude did it in no time--even after another key place said the key was too damaged. I've had the worst luck making keys this week. First a KeyMe kiosk at Smart and Final then at Home Depot. None of the keys worked. I stopped by (open till 7pm M-F) and got a copy made. I asked Fernando why the copies from the kiosk didn't work and he showed me that the blanks they use aren't the proper length! Hopefully Home Depot will give my $$ back. He was quick in making my copy, less than a minute! read more
