It's perfect especially for those who live in the area and have pets to walk. I've l seen lots of families walking around and hanging out in the park, and also kids playing sports (soccer, volleyball, etc.). It has a good playground there too. But what I like the most about this park is it provides complimentary doggie bags to encourage dog walkers to help keep the park clean. It also provides plenty of trash cans for use. My dog seems super happy whenever she's at this park - the grass looks healthy, some trees look well grown and huge, which tells me they're watered and taken care of well. I also feel safe walking around this park during the day.

A pretty park, with a large grassy area, many shady trees spaced out, and a playground. There's one group picnic area, and one or two other single picnic tables, as well as sitting benches. We used this park a lot when my kids were young as they love the playground. The playground has since been refurbished, although still a little small. A gravel path winds its way around the park and you can get a decent walk if you do a few revolutions. Obviously loved by the neighbourhood, a steady stream of visitors were here on a Sunday morning. Parking can be an issue as there is no dedicated parking lot. Adjacent to Concord High, if school is out you can usually park in the school parking lot. However, when school is in session, it's difficult. The small neighborhood parking area off the East park entrance (where we used to be able to park) is now labeled a "tow away zone", with any nearby curbs painted red. So when school is in session, you are forced to either park near someone's house or forget about this park. Neighborhood use only at those times apparently, unfortunate for those of us without a neighborhood park.

This park is located right of the 242, its easy to access with lots of parking. The kids get to play in a small scale castle, stores, and boat spaces to keep them entertained. Every time we come here, our older son just runs around until we say it's time to go home. We go for walks in the neighboring park and fields to get some exercise in as well. Check out this park if you're in the Concord/Martinez area to discover something new. They recently updated the fields nearby and parking lot. They have food trucks on the weekends. My husband's grandparents live in Clayton and regularly attend the concerts; we can see why. The Grove has lots of shade and is in the middle of downtown Clayton, surrounded by some restaurants and stores. There's a large convenience store nearby, in case you need a few items or drinks to round out your picnic. The grass was well maintained. There's a path around the space, so that you don't have to worry about walking through people, like if a concert is happening. The bathrooms were reasonably clean with baby changing tables. And there wasn't a bad seat for the concert. Still, though, my husband's grandfather did head over to the park early to set up chairs and save our space. That didn't appear to follow the rules on the signs, but he was far from alone in doing this. All in all, this park and its musical programming were great for enjoying a beautiful summer evening.

There's also a community garden, very close by. I had a nice chat with a gardener there. You rent out a space for a small amount per year. There doesn't appear to be many facilities. But parking is plentiful. I would've liked some brochures but I did not see any. I guess they're online only
