I had the chance to go up for a friend's event. From the street, they roll out a carpet and usher you to a tucked away elevator past some bouncers, where you're taken up to the top floor. The top floor is quite a large space that can easily hold hundreds. There's a stage, a balcony where they set up a casino night for the event I attended, two food lines, and two bars. Drink options were relatively basic and they couldn't do something like an espresso Martini but they were fast and poured good basic cocktails. The food overall was decent - my favorite there was the shrimp and the elotes, and the meats were a bit dry. Highlights were definitely the views and the spacious nature of the venue. As an attendee, it's a pretty cool spot. Bit of a pain to get to and it gets a bit stuffy up there - I definitely had to take my suit jacket off.

Unfortunately, the management and operations make the experience frustrating. Communication is excellent before booking, but after payment, the tone shifts to constant nickel-and-diming. A $500/$600 per hour (if rented hourly) is charged even when only one staff member is on-site, doing little more than being present. The drinks package, presented as mandatory, offered low-quality options by default, and getting better selections approved became unnecessarily difficult. Requests for bar supply details were met with incomplete information and a dismissive attitude. The event director is essentially unreachable, despite having a listed phone number. On one occasion, after staff connected me to her, I overheard saying she didn't want to speak with me since she did not know she was on speaker phone. This after I had spent $7,000 on the venue. Staff have openly said that management prioritizes revenue over guest experience due to financial struggles and potential closure. The space itself was not properly cleaned before my event. Plants were dying, trash was outside (which I had to pick up myself), and overall upkeep felt neglected. The initial walk-through was warm and welcoming, but that hospitality disappeared once the contract was signed. In short: beautiful venue, poor management practices, rude and disrespectful management. I'd consider recommending or returning ONLY if there were a change in leadership and a genuine focus on customer experience and overall upkeep.

We had a full menu at sit down tables and great staff supporting the event. Even had some escargot! Loved that it was a shared menu so we could all try everything on the menu if we wanted to. The host brought her own dessert/cake which was amazing as well. There was an outside champagne bar and place to set up for photos. There was an inside bar with cocktails of the day like French 50 instead of French 75. ;-) We were fortunate the business next door was closed for the day so we could park there for the event, otherwise we would have had to hunt for parking. It was a smaller wedding so the ceremony part took place in the front courtyard area, which was intimate and cozy. It's right on the street so we heard some loud vehicles but nothing that really took away from the wedding. The venue is a house, of course, with many rooms and different nooks. One small room had the bar and an appetizer spread laid out, and another room had the dance floor with a DJ. I liked the different areas to mingle and hang out. The reception dinner was held in the back courtyard area, which was beautifully done with lights and great ambience. However the ground is a bit uneven back there, so I was slightly tilted on my chair throughout dinner. That was a little annoying and could be limiting for those with mobility or balance issues. The employees I interacted with were all very polite and provided great service. The wedding was beautiful and I think this is a unique venue that's perfect for a smaller wedding or party.

There were lots of food vendors all around which was a nice but they're mostly unhealthy food (pizza, burgers, fries, nachos). The only downside was that the sound system was not that great. Drinks are overpriced as expected at a venue like this and food prices are also on the higher side, though not as bad as the drinks. Hoop Tea ($14.75): A lightly spiked iced tea but it was enough to hold us through the entire concert. We went to Chick-fil-A one time and Stubb's Bar-B-Q another. At Stubb's we split the ATX Burger ($16) and onion rings ($8) and both were pretty darn good. The burger came with crispy chips but the onion rings were the real winner.

The food options are surprisingly solid for a venue, and of course the champagne selection is amazing every time. Always a fun experience and definitely one of the best places in Austin to catch live music.

The reason why this is a 3-star review. The service was awful - at least at Saltillo. After I finished my nachos, I ordered a margarita. The way you order is - you go up to a kiosk and get a ticket number. However, the employees here don't adhere to the ticket system. To pick up my nachos, I had to ask, "Is this number 162?" And the girl behind the counter just told me to take my food without confirming. Later, I got a margarita - by also ordering at the kiosk. And waited. And waited. And eventually went up again to the counter to ask the non-English speaking employees about it. Eventually the guy behind the counter said, "I gave your margarita to that guy!" I showed him my ticket. He repeated himself. I then went outside to ask the guy outside if he had ordered a margarita. Of course he said yes! We sat in the 200s and had a great view of the events and musical performers. The beer vendors were plentiful. The line for refreshments, merchandise and bathroom were all short. The restrooms were cleaner than you'd expect for a rodeo. Outside, the carnival was setup in a way that there was plenty of room for people to walk around. The only downer is that it's a pretty good trek from parking to expo center but parking only cost $5. I don't know what other events are held here but based on this experience it's a good spot to be for spectators.
