We chose 2FL for new windows and siding after getting three bids. The initial phone call resulted in me having to leave a message, but it was promptly returned by one of the owners who scheduled a weekend estimate appointment. This allowed my husband and I to both be there. 2FL was the only company (of 3 bids) that offered weekend appointments. The sales process was easy. He asked the right questions, listened to what we wanted, and gave us a fair bid. When we chose 2FL, I received a phone call from the owner thanking me for my business! He also kept me informed about when the windows would be ready so we could schedule a start date. It took two weeks to complete the whole house and the quality and workmanship is fantastic. It is easy to tell they take pride in their work! My house looks amazing. I would easily recommend 2FL for windows and siding. read more

I scheduled for estimate for all my windows and patio doors in one of my home and since my wife didn t like the shutter infront of the house and doesn t match with black windows once they are installed. We decided to change the house sidings that looks like cedar wood also. I scheduled for earlier date this week for Friday but I got a call from work that I have a meeting for Friday so I have to cancel my estimate appointment with 2FL construction and the manager Steve mentioned that He just wasted $180 for someone to give me estimate for Friday because I have to reschedule. I told him I'll just call him when I confirm my schedule. He tried to schedule me for other date coz he said he is fully booked but since he mentioned he just wasted $180 for someone to come and give estimates, I told him it is better for me to call him when I confirm my schedule so I don't have to reschedule again and waste his $180 for someone to give estimates. He should start charging for estimates so he doesn t have to rub it in to potential clients that he just wasted $$ for rescheduling an appointment. I wouldn't consider hiring since the estimate scheduling is already an issue, I suspect the actual job will be also an issue based from other low reviews. We are spending $45K-50K all windows, doors and siding project and didn't wan't to have more bad experience. read more

Follow up: A year later, when I contacted Terry about a whole my husband put in the siding doing yard work, he's more than willing to help us get an additional piece and repair it for free. Siding: Our siding experience was great! 2FL brought over a crew from Spokane to do the work to keep them busy between jobs out there (we're in Western Washington). Although they started a day later than expected due to material delivery being delayed, they were amazingly fast and always courteous. Ron and his crew did a great job, working through the weekend and even until around 7-8pm every night. Total whole siding project took about 4 days. We're really impressed by their performance. Even now, 2 months after the siding has been completed, John & Terry are more than willing to come look at any areas we might be having problems with (vent was popping off). Deck and porch overhang: When we first requested a bid from 2FL, we weren't aware that they did decking so to find out they do, we were happy to have one company doing both of our large projects (siding and decks). Tear down of original decks went really quickly. They were more than happy to build us temporary stairs so we could get still get in and out of the front of the house while they continued to work. The original estimate for the deck project was about a week and a half to 2 weeks. Unfortunately, we got red-tagged by the City of Covington (not 2FLs fault). Between getting engineering and plans drawn up and permits approved by the City, we were on hold for over 2 months. I didn't like the fact that once we were red tagged, the crew simply left all the excess unused wood/materials out in the back yard. We waited about a week before moving it ourselves to under the frame of the deck so it wouldn't get as damaged by the weather and wouldn't kill our grass. Before the work stop, we did notice that the crew only worked partial days. Usually they were gone by the time we got home at 4:30pm every day. Even after we got our permits and work began again, unless Junior (crew supervisor?) was on site, the two other guys seemed not to do as much work as they perhaps could have. The quality of work is great though and now that the project is finished, we love our new decks. Overall, Terry and John were both really easy to get a hold of when we had questions. We're happy with the experience other than we wish the deck portion had been completed a bit faster. read more

I am so disappointed with 2FL who I hired to install hardiplank siding. The salesman was a smooth talker and I fell for it hook line and sinker. These people do not communicate with you at all. People promised to show, never did, or would show up early morning without me being informed they were coming, material was dropped in my driveway without notification, a dumpster was dumped in my driveway with no notification. They sent subcontractors out who did a HORRIBLE job and they ignored several emails, with pictures and finally I had to file a complaint with the BBB. A 3 or 4 week project turned into a 5 month long nightmare. The caulking on my house is still not correct, looks like a toddler did it. I am going to hire a 2nd contractor to correct there screw ups, don't want them sending their unqualified subcontractors out here, with no supervision and then not follow up on my requests to send someone who knows what they are doing. The paint contractors are sloppy as well. 28K and it is horrible. They were asked not to touch my AC system, but they did, caulking all over the covers, on my windows and new doors, painted over cracked paint, promised to fix, never did so it looks horrible. They don't care. I am surprised they are still in business to be perfectly honest. There very own employees if you happen to ever see one even shake their heads, asking who DID THIS?? I see why you are upset!! OK, but then nothing is done about it. Not worth the stress and frustration when they could care less if you are happy or not. read more

We had five bids for our home window replacements and Steve was prompt to provide a competitive bid. We narrowed it down to the type of windows we were looking for and the bid was not the lowest but definitely not the highest either. After signing the contract the measurements were taken within a few days and we did need to wait about six weeks as each window was custom ordered. Replacement was completed timely and with care. The trim to adjust for the difference in thickness turned out nice and everything was sealed and finished properly. I would recommend for windows (we used Lindsay with low E/self cleaning glass and they look awesome). read more

We are very pleased with the vinyl siding work that 2FL did for us. We chose the company because of excellent referrals from past clients, and we were the most impressed with the thickness of the siding offered. The quality seemed much sturdier than others we were quoted by other contractors. Work started very quickly after the siding arrived. The workers were extremely courteous and very friendly. They even went out of their way to suggest that this would be a good time to get new house numbering and a new doorbell to go with the new and improved look of our house! They also cleaned up their work as much as possible each day after finishing for the day to be the least disruptive they could be. Communication was very prompt, and when a few issues came up that required immediate attention they were very thorough in explaining what they had found after tearing off our old siding and discussing our options with us. Any questions we had were almost immediately responded to, and the job finished in the amount of time projected. We are thrilled with the quality of the work and the revitalized appearance of the house, and would definitely recommend 2FL to any friends or family. read more

This company did nothing but waste our time. After the salesperson spent 2 hours at our house, I was told by the owner that the job was underquoted and that they could not do it...their own quote!! When I asked them to tell me what it would actually take to do the job, they sent yet another person to my house, who cancelled appointments with me twice, and then took another hour to review the project with me. Ethical & Professional set-up. The salesperson Simeon was prompt and courteous. The fact that they work on a variety of buildings: residential, commercial and multi family properties sold me. I am providing an positive update after working with the other owner of 2FL, Terry Flannery. Once he understood the situation he took immediate action and had the problem door replaced by a very competent installer. It appears that there is also a manufacturing issue with the doors which are manufactured by Therma Tru. 2FL advises me that they no longer sell those doors and accordingly I would avoid this particular door manufacturer. Terry has assured me that he will continue to work with me on fixing any future problems and seems sincere about long term customer satisfaction. read more

Simeon came out for a bid on a small project for some siding repair. Although he dropped a few hints the job was too small, he was happy to do the estimate, was thorough, conscientious and courteous, sent me numbers as promised. When I followed up to talk closing the deal, I attempted to talk brass tacks on price, Simeon reminded me the job was so small that the owner wouldn't budge. Being in the market for a new roof, I threw an idea at Simeon that we could up the stakes and with the two projects together come up with a better deal. He seemed open to that idea, aske me to send the roof specs for an estimate. That was the last I heard from good old Simeon until I called him this morning (6 days later). Simeon told me he was put off by my proposal, and had 'shut down'. He went on and on lecturing me that he had already said no, that he 'cant deal' with customers who continually try to negotiate after he tells them no, that my project was too small to begin with (I get that part buddy), and that since I had the audacity to bring it up again (I had done so on one occasion and followed up on what we had discussed with an email) he decided to leave me hanging and not follow up with me (I thought he was working up a roofing bid to go with the small job). He went on to say I had asked him 5 or 6 times for a discount (not true), and that CERTAIN CULTURES RELENTLESSLY BADGER HIM ON PRICE. That's when I lost all respect for the young man. He then told me they would pass on my projects. All this over a difference of $275 from what he bid, and the potential for a 5 figure sale in follow-up business. Based on this experience I cannot recommend 2FL Windows & Siding for ANY project, large or small. read more

After getting 4 other bids, we engaged 2FL to completely replace our siding and paint the entire house. Typically I am not the friendliest person when it comes to something like this, especially because it is so expense and impacts the outside of the house, but I can safely say that these guys absolutely rocked. We had some initial miscommunication around timing, but they completely replaced all the siding on our house in two weeks and painted it in less than two days. The house looks spectacular and I can't find a single area where they did not do a good job. Honestly it takes a lot for me to write this, but I would recommend them to anyone. Hands down. We were very impressed with the service from 2FL. They were very informative about how they were going to install the windows and doors. They came with cloths to cover the furniture and moved what ever was in the way and even removed the curtain rod. The installers were well trained and explained what they were doing so we could understand how the windows would be installed. They arrived at about 10am and were finished by mid afternoon. The salesperson Adam was quick to come to my house and promised me an estimate by the end of the next day. After 3 weeks with no estimate provided, I contacted Steve, the person who scheduled the estimate, and he responded with "Okay LOL" and "busy season LOL". I still have not received the estimate, and they tell me it must have went to my spam folder. (Blaming me rather than taking responsibility). The estimate is no where to be found, and needless to say I went with another company for my siding project. After writing this review I received a phone call from Steve upset that I gave a bad review, yet he did not address my concerns. I wrote the review based on my experience with their lacking customer service. I cannot speak to 2FL's workmanship or product, but from my experience their customer service could use some improvement. We hired 2FL to replace the old siding to our home -- to the newer and sturdier Hardie Plank brand. We love it! And even more, our total experience with 2FL was beyond my expectations. We give high marks for 2FL! The crew and on-site supervisor (Rob) for our project were courteous, conscientious, consistently on time, hardworking, and professional. Yet, when there were some "hiccups" to the plans (what home project doesn't have any), Rob was totally "on the ball" and addressed and fixed the problem to the best of his ability and to our deep satisfaction as SOON AS HE COULD. This made us grow to trust and appreciate their responsiveness and integrity in giving us their best customer service possible. BEST SCENARIO YET - 2FL ACTED AS OUR ADVOCATE: I have to say that with removing old siding, you discover what's really under there and sometimes things you see from before -- have to be addressed. Because 2FL also knows a lot about window installations, they brought to our attention quickly something they saw that could impact the future quality of our windows --and current siding job. It had to do with how our newer windows were installed incorrectly back in 2009, which just happened to have been installed by a previous company in the same field as 2FL. So, we had to delay our job a bit to get this "corrected." So, I called the previous windows contractor about this. Needless to say, they (ask me if you want to know WHO THEY ARE, because they do siding too) did NOT seem to take our concerns seriously at first, and they seemed to try to deflect the responsibility back to us and 2FL even though our windows were still under warranty. Hmmmm. Basically, the one I spoke to seemed to hem and haw his way through this. Delays (whether real or on purpose) came. Aggravating. UPSHOT: Thank goodness. Our 2FL siding supervisor Rob patiently and professionally explained clearly to us many times (so we would get it) about what the window problem was, and how it could affect our siding job if not corrected. He even spoke directly (and respectfully) to the previous contractor's representative FOR US over the phone about the problem he saw with the windows. (This was very appreciated, because then we, as just homeowners, didn't have to find ourselves struggling to describe the problem in technical terms to the other company.) Even 2FL co-owners Terry & Mark, were willing to be present onsite or offer their advice and listening ears to us on this, too. This was SOOOO great! 2FL basically acted as our ADVOCATE and they were even ready to correct this window installation problem for us if the other company couldn't. But after some negotiation our part with the other company (yet girded with good and reasonable information by 2FL and by our own research), we got the window correction done by the other company. All turned out fine in the end. BOTTOM LINE: 2FL does excellent work, and they really DO put the customer FIRST. I would trust these guys (and gals) with our next project because I know they'll always be honest with me... and if there's ever a problem or concern - they will ADDRESS IT, or at least, we can TALK about it and work out a solution TOGETHER. That's what I appreciate most -- good communication between myself and any outside company we hire to do work for us. 2FL fits that bill to the HILT. Yet, I advise that if possible, you too, should be that ever present, observant and communicating homeowner to make sure this kind of project turns into a good experience for ALL. This was the worst customer experience I have had in a while. This company had "backstock" windows listed for sale. I emailed the company to buy some windows, no return email. Had to call 3 times before I got a call back, should have known then to move on. Finally got the owner, Terry, on the phone and inquired about the two windows I needed and he said he had them. I drove down from Seattle to Auburn area to pick up windows, when I got there we went into the storage container and he couldn't find them, he said "well I guess the guys took them for a job, sorry". He then walked back into his garage without another word. I had talked to this guy twice on the phone, and a few texts messages getting directions to get to him and you would think he could taken the time to go outside his house and take to make sure he had them. The worst part of the experience was he could have cared less that he did not have the windows and had no interest in any type of customer service. He did text me later to refer me somewhere else, but who wants his recommendation after that experience. if this is how he handles something simple, I shutter to think of the customer service you would get if you had a problem with the windows, siding, or roof you purchased from them. read more
