It is not a bad joke like others have said. They are capitalists and they are in this for themselves not us. Business goes that way!! There marketing makes it seem like they care for the environment etc. This is the type of place you go if you don't have any options. They offered me 2 dollars on tops i paid 175.00 for and i almost burst out laughing. I took my valuable stuff back. I would rather continue to enjoy it or give it away myself. The fact is offering someone .20 cents is an insult to me but that is the game and how they make money. If they pay me .20 cents and sell it for 9.00 they just made more than quadruple their money. I am sure if I was in the mood to shop they have a good selection. I will not be going back..i believe there are better options if you want to make a little money. read more

Didn't know this store existed in Old Towne Pasadena!! I wandered further down Colorado Blvd than usual, and found awesome quality, brand name handbags from $5 - $900 (I found reasonable Ummmm, I'm always searching for a deal, so I found Michael Kors, Coach, and others for lovely prices. I don't really care about the brand, if it's quality and I love it, because it speaks to me. (words to live by) I'm a Thrifter, who will buy "unused" estate sale merch from Goodwill, & Crossroads Trading Co, etc.! I'm big on buying unused items that someone decided to remove from their closet. I like "new" even in resale stores, like this one. read more

I went in just to see what they have and found $50 shirts with stains and rips but I mean I guess that's what they call "vintage". There isn't that much variety or good stuff in the women section, but I didn't mind shopping stuff for me In the men's section. The reviews about the manager and workers are right, they do tend to watch you and follow you but kind of understandable since the store does have expensive brands. This place is super small and can get super crowded, max 3 people per row or else its packed. There are some good brands and some good finds but the prices are not the lowest and I feel they tend to overprice their items way more than their actual worth. There could be a shirt with ugly stains and obviously worn out but will still charge $100+ because of the brand. However, you can always return your items if you're not satisfied. read more

This place is terrible! Overpriced cheap quality products. I would question the authenticity of their designer items cause it seemed odd in terms of the quality and feel. Also employees following you around to see what your doing is uncomfortable for the shopper. As a person who wants to make sure designer items are legitimate and try on the items before purchasing, I did not appreciate the experience. You're better off driving to an outlet where you get designer items for discounted prices and know that they are real or going vintage stores in Echo Park. read more

Went into 2nd street today. The music and vibe is so nice. Gem helped me out today. Everyone here is soooo sick. 10/10 experience.

The store has a great selection. It is very clean and organized. I saw some great pieces. What I did not appreciate was being followed by different employees my entire time there and being stared at by them. I do understand that the store carries High end products. Nonetheless, it is not a pleasant experience at all when you are genuinely just trying to shop. read more

Great stuff here.. but if you're selling I recommend going to buffalo exchange or another shop instead.. brought a bag of stuff and got $8.. was kind of thrown off because it seemed like they were only getting 3 items from my bag- that's what it looked like on the iPad.. and I even asked for the rest of the stuff before I left and the employee said they took everything in it. The buyer at the counter would take his time doing his things even though he sees you waiting for him. He would talk to his colleague or his colleague would talk to him while he is looking through my clothes selection. He offered $0.10 on clothes he did not want but he said he would still sell it for about $5.00 at the store. I should have read the comments before go there today. read more

I've sold here about 4 times and make the trip out to Pasadena because I know they'll take whatever low quality items I give them. I do not shop here because I know the quality of items they buy. My last trip here solidified that I won't be making the trip out anymore, as the cashier was incredibly rude and I can't remember a time I had a positive or friendly experience with any of the buyers here. This past selling session I got $8 total for approximately 12 items. Their prices are also ridiculous for the quality of items they carry. Although Crossroads down the street is more selective, you are at least guaranteed more fair prices. read more

They threw my Alexander McQueen shoes all over the place price points were awful compared to the retail resale value staff are not knowledgeable on any current past or future trends I've interviewed with this company before and if I knew this is the criteria or these guys were the standard for the company I would've never ever associated with them. read more

All the reviews are semi bad on here when I had a wonderful experience. You shouldn't expect much it isn't suppose to be a high end place. The people there are nice and really helpful. I recently just sold a couple of items there and got what I expect. You got to keep in mind the resale value and what they have to make off what you are selling. read more

Terrible customer service. All of the employees have no enthusiasm whatsoever. Not welcoming at all, besides the doorman. Extremely humid in the store, which creates an uneasy shopping experience for their customers. Took an hour and a half to sift through two bags of clothing. Their price points for buying used clothes and accessories felt like an insult. Their prices for selling items are even worse. I would feel more better about myself to donate my clothes to Goodwill for free rather than to sell my clothes to 2nd Street, knowing my clothes can help others in dire need as opposed to 2nd Street's audience that are comprised of so-called "fashion elitists". This place is a joke. Go to the Costa Mesa location, where their Air Conditioner actually works, and is more spaced out and curated. read more

I visited the store after having such a great experience at the Melrose and Sherman Oaks location. The young woman with blonde hair that works there is super nice and took her time to help us with the different Supreme hoodies. However, the green haired guy, who is probably the manager, was super rude and condescending. The woman employee told us to try on the Supreme hoodie since it was so expensive, then the green haired guy kept yelling at us to take it off and you can't try these on, even after knowing his own employee was wrong- then maybe your employees should all be aligned on policy? We purchased the hoodie and the green haired guy hastily put the shopping bag on the counter and went back onto his laptop in front of us even before we could ask him about the return policy. When we asked, he ignored us and pretended to start typing away on his laptop directly in front of us. I guess he was super busy with less than five customers in the store. His assistant that was connected to his hip, was super nice and folded the hoodie and placed it into the bag. Bummer that this location has such poor customer service since the 2nd Street locations for above and beyond to ensure you are satisfied with your in store experience and purchase. read more

Wish I had read reviews before I made the trip over to PASADENA and wasted the gas. I just felt stupid when they offered me .10 cents for the well taken care off Coach shoes and a dollar for Coach boots. Not to mention the Anthropology, Rebecca Taylor, Marni, etc designer clothing. Including some never worn pieces and holiday items (current/seasonal). Next time I clear out my closet and those I curate clothing collections for I will just take these nice second hand pieces directly to Discovery Store in Beverly Hills and get a tax write off receipt for the donation. It sounds like that's what they do with our 10 cent items anyways; is get a big tax write off by donating them. Not setting foot in this store again. read more

Buying here is usually a great experience, but selling here is a joke. Listen to the other reviews on this: they're accurate. The prices they offer are worse than Crossroads, which is embarrassing because they boast being a place that has a designer focus. But I have sold and done consignment at Crossroads, The Closet, Buffalo, and this place-- for years. This place was the worst. They were going to give me $25 for an almost new Alexander Wang leather trunk clutch-- that retails for almost $500... I mean, when they say in their responses that they're "competitive" it's just embarrassing. I took the same clutch to Crossroads and they consigned it for $150, meaning I would get $75. Don't sell here. It's just a waste. Also, the reviews that mention fakes are right. The store has a response that says they use Entrupy and all that, and that's probably true for their BAGS, but I have been a BAPE collector for 10 years, and I found two fakes the last time I was in. And they weren't even good fakes... the sleeve tags were horrible. So obviously, some of the employees who buy the clothing from customers aren't looking carefully, or simply don't know how to look at sleeve tags. Buyer Beware. Also, when I came in to sell, the employees were pricing and hanging up clothes that they just bought from a customer and were talking to each other. The clothes had defects and they said, "ehh just still hang them up, we'll just act like we didn't know" I don't know. I enjoy shopping here, but I have to be really careful, that's all. Because they really do have fakes and also, obviously, employees who don't really know what's up. ***UPDATE: the response they gave was professional enough, but there were definitely multiple fakes. wish i had taken pictures because obviously they've probably gotten rid of them now (which is good).- they were what we on BapeTalk refer to as blatant FAPE. it was so bad, it was embarrassing. like the sleeve tag ape head was a train wreck lol anyway, again, not saying this place is terrible. you just have to be really careful. i still shop here, but because i can authenticate myself. everything but bags; i suck at those. still a cool spot, just be careful. read more

Um....mostly thrift shop/rummage sale "boutique" quality merchandise at uber retail prices. Some Yelpers warn about possible Santee Alley/Canal Street designer "tribute" items in the mix??? There's even that slight funky "pre-owned" aroma, that is tolerable at Good Will/Salvation Army prices, but not trendy, expensive Old Town Pasadena. Who is paying the sky-sky-high rents on this place? Their neighbor is a chic Tesla dealer! This whole retail experience should be totally on-line, and that's where the bargains and quality are! That, and Craigslist are ALSO where the vintage/designer label seller/possible consigner will get the best deal! read more

Avoid selling to this place!!! Horrible experience. I brought in numerous brand new items (Nike, Jordan, Doc Martens, etc.) and they offered $20 on average. They aren't knowledgeable at all, took nearly half an hour to give me an estimate , and were rude. When I told the guy at the register I would pass on his offer he made a smart a** remark. At the suggestion of a friend -- My first selling experience at 2nd Street was not what I expected. As instructed, I brought in seasonal (new and lightly worn) items, including a new Tory Burch tote with tags, two time used Prada purse, Kate Spade black tote, beautiful winter coats and lots more. I should have taken pics. Anyhow, guess how much they paid me?!?! Approximately $210 and change!!! I took it because it was way too much stuff to walk back to the car. I'm not going there or doing this again! I'm just going to continue donating my goods to family and friends. read more

I came to ask what their seeling process is like since ive sold at other places like crossroads, the employees made me feel unwelcomed said you can try but were being very selective your better off not selling unless you have vintage or deisgner they said. seemed very rude . The only person that was friendly was the security guy in the front. but from these comments saying you only get .10 cents for a shirt better off going to crossroads down the street where you can get $5 or more for your clothing items read more

One of my favorite places to find hidden treasures. A good "last stop" place to sell as they take everything you bring but don't necessarily give top dollar. A little cramped and hard to move around (not wheelchair accessible) so definitely come off peak hours. read more

Wow! Great selection and reasonable prices for gently used clothing that you couldn't even tell were used. They have everything from high end designer clothes to shoes and accessories.
