I got the most BEAUTIFUL manicure at 2x10!! My nail tech, Angie was truly an artist with how detail oriented she was. I got the gel extensions and showed her a photo of the shape I wanted which she replicated very well. She was so meticulous with perfecting the shape of each nail. The color I picked out ended up being too sheer. Angie ended up mixing two colors (OPI's put it in neutral + bubble bath) for the perfect combo! On my toes I got Dutch Tulip which is so cute for summer. Angie is so incredible!! Cannot recommend her enough. read more

My no chip, manicure was executed by a woman who had been thoroughly trained and had new technique to remove old polish, which was so gentle on my nails from beginning to end . I've been going to 2x10 since they first opened and I was so excited when they announced that they were doing DIP because I've had to go to a different salon for that service. I went to get a dip mani with dip already on and there were a few things that took me back a little bit. After my nails were done soaking and she started rubbing the remaining dip off the nail she was rubbing so hard that the length of my nails was bending where it was coming off the bed. She then asked about the length and I said just file a little bit and keep the shape (soft almond/oval). She proceed to start cutting and filed them sharp where they looked like hard almond. When she finished applying the color and putting the activator on, I was expecting her to go in with the electric file to shape them. Which she didn't and they are bumpy/textured or Extra round (if that makes sense). Instead she went in with just the buffer and applied the clear coat which is streaky and not covering every part of my nail. For an $80 service, I was expecting a phenomenal job considering their standard manis and pedis are phenomenal. I proceeded to go home and fix them myself. All in all I think 2x10 is great for regular polish and gel polish but for dip I will go to a different salon. read more

Well first time I went to the salon the owner was very nice and friendly. The services were extremely expensive for the area with not much extra quality to warrant the increase. At that time I got a manicure and a pedicure, I walked out satisfied, but still did not want to pay that much. I went back this evening, at 6:23pm. I thought I would give them another chance because they are close to my home and they're open so late which is convenient for when I have a later shift. I walked in and there were no customers and three employees. I asked if they were still taking walk-ins and she said that it depends on what I was needing as she looked at the clock. I said I just needed a basic manicure no nail polish and gel nails for my toes. She asked me to pick a color and I said it's actually French manicure. At this point this is when she rolled her eyes at me and looked like she was absolutely put out about my request. Mind you they don't close for another hour and a half, and there was not one other customer in There so I turned around politely said no thank you and headed for the door. she said no wait we could do it and I said no thank you I saw that look on your face. I'm good and I left. For me there's so many options. Customer service is a big piece in a nail salon. you get to know a nail place. They end up knowing your name you know their name. it's your go to and you really enjoy that hour to hour and a half of relaxation that they can provide. I definitely did not want to stay there because I felt like I was putting them out and I just didn't want to be a bother so I left. It's a shame they were so nice. I lIke my nails painted in a very specific non traditional way ( that requires precise lines and use of acetone dipped brush to create) I usually do I it myself at home to avoid burdening someone else with my neurosis. But every once in a while, I get lazy. Every time I go to the ladies at 2x10 and make my silly request, they always deliver without any complaints. It turns out exactly the way I want and it doesn't costs me a ton extra like some other places. I always have lovely conversations with the technicians. Last time I went there, we were discussing Mongolian food and the toll of partying too much during the holidays. What a splurge! This little, cozy spa is in my friend's neighborhood and we decided to treat ourselves. My pedicure was such a different experience, especially compared to the higher-end salons that I've tried once or twice in the past. There are lots of pedi chairs so if you come in with a friend they will accommodate you if you want to sit next to each other during the treatment. The whole place was very clean, organized and didn't smell of toxic choking chemicals. The actual pedicure was pretty long with a very thorough and very relaxing leg and foot massage. Meanwhile you can have the chair massage your back so it's very heavenly. Then there are actual driers to dry your hands and feet afterwards so you don't have to worry about smearing or chipping. After everything is dry, they spray your toes to lock them in, wrap them in saran wrap, and actually roll your socks up your legs for you, put your shoes on for you, and give you a big smile. It's such a reasonable deal with very friendly staff! It's been over a week and my toes are still green, glittery and sparkly without a single chip. Best of all they do spa parties where you can rent out the place for all your girlfriends to get manicures at the same time while bringing in food which I am considering as a part of my bachelorette party! read more

For $22 i had a manicure, hand massage, and shoulder massage. Since my daughter's birthday was coming up, I decided she needed a treat too. My daughter had the same service and is just $10! I was impressed that my 5 year old daughter was treated as a customer and the nail technician conversed well with my daughter! Complimentary neck and shoulder massage with service, though mine is a bit longer because of my package deal. A lot of Asian ladies with thick, loud accents, which is alright by me because I am also Asian, though American born. Hence I'm used to being around foreigners. The nail dryer was at the back & the nail stations and pedicure chairs are towards the front of the store inside. Meter parking available, residential street parking is a bit far. read more

I have been going here for many years and always been happy with their services and friendly staff. The prices were always competitive to the neighborhood. Imagine my surprise when I booked an appointment and was finished with my services to find out they just had a significant price increase 5 days prior, over 30%! There is small sign to notify customers in small print behind the cashier (after he pointed it out) but no posting of the new prices anywhere. When asked, the staff tell you that the owner has cited increased costs for supplies, etc for the increase. However to go from $45 to $60 for a regular mani/pedi is kinda crazy. Not A dip, no chip, just a regular OPI nail polish that you can buy at Target. I feel sorry for the staff as they will get the feedback on the increases, not the owner, reduced tips, etc. I WILL find a new place. Very disappointed to say the least.. I came here few weeks ago with my bf and it was a great experience. Returning by myself and getting a mani and pedi (regular) but i told the lady that I would prefer no chip on my hands and regular on feet, and she started freaking out on me. "Well you didn't make an appointment saying no chip you called for regular mani pedi. I said , Is that a problem? Because it's faster , it drys faster. She was like Yes is it a problem because it takes longer. My response immediately was "Well I don't have to get my nails done here" and walk out. It's people like this lady that causes business to fail. It prevents people coming back. It's time to let the red hair lady with the bob hair cut go. I struggled with deciding whether to write this review or not and finally one week post visit decided that I should review, despite only having visited once. I was across the street from this salon when I realized I have about an hour to kill and I am long overdue on a manicure (especially now that I am interviewing at places). I gave them a call and was told that I can be seen right away. The manicure itself was pleasant enough but I was very taken aback by the extra charge to take my no chip off. Most places will do it complimentary if you are reapplying a no chip but I was grateful to be seen with no notice and this place was recommended by a friend so I figured it must be worth the price. One week later and I am yet again disappointed by the discoloration of my polish. I've attached some pictures, this has never before happened to any of my manicures. With the amount of nail salons in the area I feel like there is no reason for me to pay this particular spot a visit again. I do want to stress that the actual nail technician did a nice and thorough job, I just dislike their pricing policy as well as the quality of the nail polish. read more

I came in here without an appointment for the standard pedicure ($30). They were able to accommodate me promptly even though I could see they were doing pretty brisk business that day. Everyone was polite, professional, and efficient. I felt very relaxed between the massage chair and the foot/leg massage that's included in the pedicure. My toes look perfect! I've used Yelp for years, but just signed up so I could write this...my first review. I walked into 2x10 Nails yesterday and asked if I could get a mani/pedi. I didn't have an appointment, but they were able to see me asap. The place seemed clean and pleasant. Jackie, my nail tech was kind. The pedi was fine. No frills, but exactly what I expect from a mani/pedi for $35. I was chilled out, eyes closed, enjoying myself, when I jumped in pain. I yelped (no pun intended) so suddenly that I actually scared the customer next to me. I had been cut badly by cuticle scissors. The reason that I gave the salon 1 star is because they charged me full price for the mani/pedi. I was floored. That is just plain terrible customer service. And, they have a rewards program...5 percent cash back into your account with each purchase and no stupid card to keep track of! T'aint bad, at all. Great little nail salon along Montrose, just east of Damen. Plenty of metered street parking but I took the train just in case! I called 2 hours before for an appointment for a Pedicure. When I arrived, I was seated right away and the girl who did my pedi was very sweet. She was fast and efficient and I was in and out in about 40 minutes. There are about 5 pedicure stations and 6 nail stations. 2x10 gets pretty busy on the weekends so it is a good idea to call ahead. They have a points system and your account number is the last 4 digits of your phone number. Brilliant! Manis are $15 and pedis are $30. Pretty reasonable prices. You can only put a charge of $20 or more on a credit card and tips in cash only. Cute, clean and friendly nail spot. I will be back! read more

This is my first and last time at this salon. - 1 star. Poor cashier service. Cashier made me pre-pay for our manicures even though I was getting a no-chip. Weird. We asked about tipping on cards and she looked at my friend and I as if were aliens and said that they only accept cash tips. She then said that this time they will 'allow' us to tip on a credit card but we would have to pay it before actually receiving the manicures, and that all future tips would have to be in cash. I'm sorry, I don't have to tip at all. So ALLOWING me to tip on my own credit card before actually receiving any services is not doing me any favors. -1 star. Rude nail technician. Apparently, since I was forced to tip before receiving any services my technician threw customer service out of the window. After about 3 minutes of sitting under the nail dryer thingy, my friend's technician came back and asked us to grab our coats. She physically put them on us, and walked us out of the salon. What? We were not asked if we were ready to go and there was no line of people waiting to use the dryer. Why we were rushed out? I have no clue. Rude. -1 1/2 stars. My no-chip manicure, which is supposed to last up to 3 weeks, chipped after five days. I was simply washing my hair and noticed that three of my nails had noticeable chips, and one nail in particular had almost half the paint off. I didn't do anything outside of my normal activities- no heavy typing or manual labor of sorts- to explain my nails chipping so quickly. I've had plenty of no-chips from other places that have lasted for over a week before chipping. Summary: Spending $40 bucks on a crappy manicure, poor customer service, and a shitty back massage at a place with a stupid name is NOT my idea of a good time. And I needed a last minute pedicure for a date. 2 x 10 is close by, just not as close as my usual spot. But they did take me in at 7:15pm with no appointment for a really good pedicure. Tiny gripe: Classic pedicures are $30. Their signature (2x10) pedicures are $42. They include a really good foot and leg massage, as well as a shoulder massage. The upgrade is definitely worth the extra $12. I was just not explained the options when I said I wanted a pedicure and I was automatically given the most expensive one. It was a really good pedicure. It's a nice place in a soon-to-be pretty nice area. I wasn't thrilled with the polish color choices. Definitely the least variety of any salon I have ever been. You may want to bring your own color. This and the lack of explanation on the difference in pricing are the only reasons I can't do 5 stars. But they went out of their way to do a really good job last night, so I am definitely a fan! read more

The building where this nail place is used to be all empty for a LONG time. They did the constructions, started accepting new stores, and there came 2x10. This place is fantastic! Not only is it down the street for me, but their service is excellent. I had my nails done - $15 for manicure. They must have put on 10 different kinds of stuff on my hand and nails. From massage to lotions, cuticles all cleaned up, and the actual nail polish got put on perfectly! Because it is new it's super clean and quiet. The ladies who were working there were super nice. This is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I had been going to Super Nails on Western/Lawrence but they were so inconsistent with their service, I really hated going there (but it was close & I could walk there so I kept going back). Then 2x10 entered my life. I've been going for manicures for a few months now and just love them. My manicures look good (meaning, no chips, or just itty bitty you can barely see them chips) for close to 5 days now. That's been unheard of for me prior to going to 2x10. The shop is really clean and quiet and makes for a very relaxing experience. And everyone who works there seems to be very pleasent (or at least the 4 or 5 people I've dealt with). It's just about time for pedicure season and you better believe I'm really excited to get one here. I believe they have a deal on mani's & pedi's on Monday's too - so it looks like I'll have a new Monday night ritual for the spring/summer!! While receiving a standard pedi here two weeks ago I peeped a sign behind the counter "2x10 Pedicure (with ten minute foot massage)." Oh snap...my dreams have come true. While I know it's perfectly acceptable to ask for some additional rub time and tip accordingly its much less awkward to have it laid out as an option - both parties well aware of what is expected. So today I walked my sore high heel wearing dogs over to 2x10 to see what this special pedicure was all about. I should start by saying my first experience with the standard pedi was great but going forward I will be paying $42 for the extra bit of TLC. Most impressive was the enthusiasm while my foot massage was administered - a thorough job was done to both my legs and feet. I seriously could've fallen asleep right there in my massage chair. I had finally found my "go to" nail salon - Divine on Belmont - before I was unexpectedly uprooted and sent packing to the North Center neighborhood. I'm happy to report 2x10 Nails has taken that prime position. If you're like me, and always wish the foot massage portion of your pedi lasted a little longer, this may be the place for you if you don't mind forking over a little extra dough. Sidenote: most of the good magazines are stashed atop the drying station in the back, so don't be put off by the three month old selection in the front. read more

I'm not a total nail aficionado. I only get these fingers treated when there's an absolute need or if I'm bored out of my mind. My friend (who actually is a nail salon regular) has been all over, and chooses to go to 2x10 Nails & Spa over others, must be a good sign, right? TOTALLY. First of all it's just $15 for a manicure, and they do a great job and don't rush the process, even when there's a line waiting for their turns. It's super clean inside, has friendly staff and a wide selection of fun, flirty and "safe" OPI and Essie colors. win, win, win. Not to mention, the $15 manicure? Comes with an awesome back massage in addition to the hand massage, making your manicure worth every penny. It's a bit further than some other salons by my apartment, but it's worth the mini-trek.
