A wonderful nail salon that avoids using toxic chemicals. Very helpful and they don't leave a boring tv on to watch shows in the afternoon during my visit. Only off thing about my visit on this slow afternoon was sitting someone next to me in the pedicure chairs who needed to have a issue with a toenail addressed, by all 3 staff members. Sure, they could have sat her 4 chair s away from me, so I could talk to my mom who was getting a manicure, but nope. I got to hear all about this woman's toenail. Really awkward. My foot soak lasted until they sorted her out, and the water got cold. Luckily my mom was able to turn and talk to me while the 3 staff members worked on one persons issue. More awkward trying to find distance from a conversation happening right next to me. Hard to turn away. Looking for an alternate salon because of problems at my usual, I made an appointment at Holy Nails. The vibe was decidedly abrupt and unfriendly from the start. I did not feel welcomed here and the remainder of my experience reinforced that. While the pedicure process was fine, the technician cut my big nail in such a way that i've been dealing with an ingrown nail for weeks. This seems like a rookie move for a manicurist. The dryers were way too hot without a way to adjust them. I tipped the technician well, and there was no acknowledgement or thank you. No one said goodbye even after I said so. The usual pleasantries being absent was surprising; if they were quiet, or even rude and did a satisfactory job that would be one thing BUT the manicure and pedicure began chipping and wearing out by the next day, and my nails have been peeling ever since! My coworker/friend has been going to Holy Nails for a long time, and she mentioned to me one day that they carry a wide range of really pretty pink nail polishes and I should check them out. I put it off for a bit because I have on-and-off eczema on my hands (mostly stress-induced), and I didn't want to subject nail technicians to them (or be turned away either ... ew, a scene, no thank you). Anyway, I had a beach vacation planned and my work stress was lessening (for the moment) and she knew it, so she took the opportunity to remind me that my beach vacation would be a great reason to finally check out her nail salon - Holy Nails. "Brilliant," I told her. So I scheduled a mani/pedi girls' day for us, and the lady I spoke with (sadly can't remember her name, but my friend said later it was the owner), was so sweet and accommodating! I scheduled the appt like 2 months in advance because, 1) I was excited about the impending vacation (desperately in need), and 2) desperately in need of some pampering, too. When the day finally arrived and we got to the salon, I thought it was very nice, clean and charming on the inside. The nail technician that did my pedicure and no-chip manicure listened to all my requests, and I absolutely loved how everything turned out! When I requested an additional coat of polish for my toes because the color I chose was more sheer than I expected, she said "no problem," and the no-chip mani was a really nice experience! I really like the gloves they put on my hands, I'm assuming to keep your hands moisturized and protected from the UV lights when curing the polish. The total cost for the no chip mani/pedi was $82 (not including tip). It's a little higher than I'm used to paying for these services, but then again, I haven't had a no-chip mani for several years. I'm still very happy with the experience and would definitely go back again ... for a special occasion mani. :) TL;DR: Really happy with the experience, nice people, comfortable environment ... definitely will go back! read more

I am SO SO SO disappointed. I have been to so many nail salons throughout the city and suburbs and this is most definitely the worst. Please don't waste your money here. I just received a pedicure and I felt like my 8 year old son was playing and doing it for me. I called because I was in the area and found this place on google. I asked if anyone was available to do a pedicure and was told to come in. If they knew they didn't have the time then they shouldn't have taken me. I received text confirmation that Veronica is who I was scheduled with so I'm assuming she did it. The water bowl wasn't even turned on, I don't know if this is standard practice here. The bottom of my feet are the same as they were before I walked in. Half of my cuticles were cut and half weren't. You can see cuticle and dry skin pieces hanging on each toe. She took 10 minutes to remove the existing no chip polish I had. Less than 10 minutes to do the actual pedicure and 10 minutes to polish my nails with gel polish. Who can file nails, remove cuticles, scrub bottom of feet, scrub legs all in UNDER 10 minutes AND do a great job? NO ONE. As a matter of fact, half of my toenails are crooked now, it looks horrendous. This was beyond pathetic. I asked her to remove my ingrown nails and she didn't, she made my big toe hurt worse now. At checkout, I felt very pressured by one of the ladies because she was pushing for future services. I paid, watched her watch me sign the receipt to see how big of a tip I'd leave and walked out. I am now driving to a different nail salon to get an actual pedicure now. read more

Way too overpriced for the lack of detail with the mani pedi. I'm not a picky person when it comes to getting my nails done. I go to a salon once, maybe twice, a year. When I do go to a salon, it's because I've noticed that my feet and hands are starting to look embarrassing. I paid $92 for a rushed mani-pedi. My feet still had dead skin on the heel and large toe also well as looked dry. She barely scraped it down or moisturized it. The polish also didn't reach the end of my nail. For the mani, I don't know what she was doing. She barely cleaned the sides of my nails and there was still dead skin and cuticles that needed to be trimmed away. I seriously could have just bought my own kit and spent time doing it myself. Let's hope at least the dip polish holds up for the 14 days the website claims. Save your money and go elsewhere. They should be ashamed for charging what they do if they're not going to put in the work to make sure the nails look pristine. read more

I've been going to Holy Nails on and off for 2 years. My feet and toenails are challenging but I always felt comfortable in what seemed like a non judgmental environment and I was pleased with the outcome. It was unlike so many other nail salons. My recent visit was the opposite experience. The nail technician did a lot of sighing, tisking, and sharing her thoughts with the technician next to her. I do not speak the same language but a vibe is a vibe as well as gestures, body posture, and a few disapproving looks. I don't want to be treated in a way that leaves me feeling judged about callouses or ingrown toenails or whatever. I likely will not return despite some other nice staff who do a great job. I recommend people disguise their disdain when working with the public. Not nice in the service industry. read more

Always a great experience. Have been a customer before and during COVID protocol. They take your temperature at the door and require hand sanitisation. Everyone wears a mask and asks that you do the same. All staff are super nice and professional. Nice music playing throughout, offer you bottled water. I was looking for a new place for a pedi and no chip mani. This was the place for me! I booked the bundle online for $72, which saved me $6. I first got the pedi, where they have great massage chairs, but the tub where you soak your feet does not have jets. No big deal for me, because they also give a great leg/foot massage! For the final touch, as your toe nails are drying, they wrap your heels in lotion so they are extra soft! Love it! My previous no chip mani (with a different place) wasn't great, as I had several nails split. Veronica was great. She tried to save as many as she could...but many had to be clipped. I think they turned out great. (The 'party nail' has a flower and some white confetti.). Part of the mani was wearing these moisturizing gloves. My hands have never been softer. This is the nail salon I prefer over ALL other nail salons. I'm not fancy. I don't care about a Russian manicure or the longest coffin shaped tips or whatever (okay, that's very 2017 of me). Give me a good no-chip mani and a pedi that doesn't hurt. This is the spot. They're closed on Sundays since they're a Christian nail salon but you can make an appointment online and it doesn't STINK in there. This is incredibly important to me since I'm lazy and don't want to talk to anyone on the phone but I'm also asthmatic and can't tolerate chemical smells for 45+ minutes. They have an EXCELLENT selection of polish colors. They're hip to what's in even if I'm not. I love this place. Everyone is so nice and even the patrons are chill and easy to talk to. I don't really know what else you could want. I have never had a bad manicure here and I am picky. There are some Instagram famous spots I've visited I won't name here that left me irritated - both emotionally and physically. I have never had that issue here even though I get ingrown toenails very easily. They're patient with me and do the work required to make me comfortable again. Love this place. This is the best nail salon I've been to in Chicago. The staff is very friendly, the location is clean, and they have a great color selection for regular polish, gel, and dip! The pedicures are great- they offer you the option between a Lavender or Green Tea scent- something I've never seen at various nail salons I've been to. Your manicures follow up with a shoulder massage! I usually get the dip powder- and it lasts 2-3 weeks. If for some reason it chips, they'll fix it for free too! And even though the out growth is super noticeable, my nails are still in amazing shape. I love Lily and it's clear that she does excellent work and it's great quality. OMG!!!! RUN HERE. Do not walk, seriously. This place is amazing. This is honestly the first time I have ever gotten my nails done and I didn't want it to end. Normally I am impatient and can't sit still. I found a NAIL SALON that is a CLEAN nail salon! I mean spotless. For example - The buffers etc. are one time use along the choice of pedi soaks and scrubs (pre packaged no double dipping). The booking is easy, the staff is genuine, the color selection is out of world, and the selection of services are endless. I have some rough hands and feet. My nails are brittle and weak. I probably have the world's most difficult nails to work with, and Holy Nails did not disappoint. I booked my appointment through yelp and they called to confirm the appointment the day before. They said parking was free, but it was so full that I just parked on the street couple blocks down. As I walked in, I was instantly greeted by their friendly staff :) the shop was very clean, bright, and cute ! I wanted to extend my nails and do the dip nails, so she showed me the color options. Lily, who did my nails, were amazing. I have never seen someone so detailed. She made sure the shape was just right, and fixed it over and over again if it was not perfect to her eyes. I scheduled my appt with Lilly online after reading so many wonderful reviews. I made my appt for a dip powder & then I decided to add on a paraffin treatment. I'm guessing that my request would have been taken up for that time slot, but no. I only got the dip powder, cuz another customer came in to get dip powder & that lady was in a rush so Lilly finished up with me as quickly as she could to start that other walk in. Sad opportunity for the business and tip wise for her. The more I spent the more they both would have gotten. I'm still giving them 5 stars because she was extremely nice, and very talented. I'll give this place 2 starts and here is why. The place was clean, upbeat, and friendly. My nail technician was so very sweet. The reason for my review: I went in for the dip powder expecting my nails to look one way and I received the total opposite. I asked for the ombré pink on my nails and I basically got all white powder with barely any pink (see picture) this is NOT an ombré. My nails are on the right and what I wanted was to the left. My friends laughed at me and I'm embarrassed to even show my nails. It was my first time trying the dip powder so I didn't know what to expect. I walked away highly disappointed and dissatisfied. Especially since I paid $70 on this service. ($55 for the dip powder, $10 for the soak off, and $5 tip). I really want a refund or for them to redo them but I work so much.
