*CASH ONLY* I had the bacon egg and cheese taco and I liked it. The bacon added the necessary amount of salt needed and their green salsa added a bit of zing and acidity to it. Cheese melts quick too, making a satisfying texture. The service was plain and simple, just how I like it. Not the biggest fan of small talk. The ambiance was pretty alright, they have some wooden picnic tables around some of the other food trucks here. read more

Good not great. Very hard to be a standout in today's ever-growing and creative world of tacos. The prices were reasonable. The service was okay. I enjoyed being able to see the cook do her thing while I waited. I ordered the migas, barbacoa, and campechano tacos. They all lacked salt and lime would have helped, but none available. Of those, if I had to choose, the best would be the migas. Will I return? Possibly, when visiting my son. read more

I arrived at the service counter to find no hermanas, only hermanOs. I asked where the ladies were, and he said they were working elsewhere. Oh well. He made no attempt to be friendly or welcoming as I placed my order for 2 migas tacos, sans chips (I don't like the way they turn gushy on a hot taco), on flour tortillas. They give you a convenient beeper that goes off when your order is ready, which gave me a chance to explore the other nearby trucks' menus (BBQ, Thai, coffee, falafel, burgers, etc.). The tortillas are not home-made, but of good quality, and not too thick. The migas were pretty good, but I had big pieces of egg whites interspersed, so apparently they weren't fully scrambled. He included a small red salsa, and 1 green. I am a big fan of creamy green salsas so I asked him for 3 more green. After giving me the stink-eye he gave me only 1 more. Really??? I would have paid for the extra salsa but apparently that option as not available. I checked the salsas and they were only 1/2 full to begin with, so I don't understand his attitude. Seems customer service is not his forte. The red sauce was too heavy on the vinegar and the green was a bit salty (so I recommend not salting your food in advance). The menu is rather short on meat choices: they do not offer picadillo or chicken tinga, for instance. They also don't offer any fried corn tortilla options like crispy tacos, tostadas, or flautas, nor any enchiladas, so I'd only (sorta) recommend this place for breakfast tacos. Personally, there are so many truck options now for Mexican food, I'll go elsewhere next time. P.S. It's "Cash Only" at this truck. read more

I work at a nearby office complex which has a cafe that makes "breakfast tacos" (HEAVY emphasis on the quotes) for $4.50 a pop and knew there had to be something else that was better, but didn't think I would find something close that was not only better, but cheaper, AND some of the BEST & most authentic breakfast tacos I've ever had. For just $3 you can get their migas tacos with an added protein of your choice, so in total that's $3 for a breakfast taco that includes eggs, tortilla strips, pico, cheese, and meat.. and they don't skimp out on the portions here whatsoever. The chorizo is delicious and well-seasoned, the bacon is nice and tender and juicy and is chopped & sprinkled allll over the taco, the cheese is always melted over the whole thing, and something that's subtle but a big indicator on quality/authenticity: the flour tortillas are cooked briefly on the grill-top to give them that nice golden brown char here and there. I seriously can't stress enough: the quality, quantity, and cost (the holy Trinity in my book) is all there. Yes, it is cash only, but if there's just one reason to carry some cash in your pocket, let this place be it. read more

Wife had 2 tacos here when we came to "Not your mama waffles". She had a chorizo taco and bean and cheese. Both were good and reasonably priced. They are breakfast tacos so not sure what else to add. It's what you would expect. Pretty sure the tortillas are not store bought which is nice. read more

3 Hermanas is a bright yellow food truck/trailer in a mini food truck park on the corner of Anderson Mill Road and Pond Springs Road. Food: Tacos! Bacon/egg/cheese, nopal/egg, bean/cheese, potato/egg/cheese - whatever the combo, these tacos are delicious. We had them all on flour tortillas, and if you get them with cheese, the cheese is fully melted into the fixings inside the taco. Pork tamale was OK, more masa than pork, but the chicken tamale was tasty. Green and red salsas are provided, and the green one has a nice zing to it. Service: It's a food truck so you'll order and pick up your food at the counter. Staff are friendly, and orders are filled reasonably quickly. All fresh and made to order. Cost: Eight tacos of various combinations ran us about $18. Cant go wrong! Overall: 3 Hermanas would be a 5 star contender, but the reason it's getting 4 starts is because one can never tell when they'll be open. No hours are posted, and even though they told us they were open every Sunday when we were there once on a Sunday, they weren't open the following Sunday. Hours on Yelp! don't seem to be fully accurate. Parking is plenty, and there's a shaded cover with tables to wait under for your food. P.S.: CASH ONLY FOLKS! They'll direct you to an ATM at the gas station across the street if you show up with a credit card. read more

Wife had been talking about visiting the food truck park for some time. I missed lunch and dinner was tentative so decided to hit 3 Hermanas for something quick and convenient. Access is super convenient with curb cuts on Pond Springs and Anderson Mill. Being 3:00 in the afternoon it was quiet and there was plenty of space to park. There are some permanent canopies installed on the the lot to provide shade and rain protection. Several picnic tables are situated under one of the canopies. The seating is clean and in good order. The common area is crushed granite that is compacted to a relatively good surface and i recall no weeds. The area was neat and clean. The vendors at the location are present in very clean and well maintained mobile kitchens. 3 Hermanas trailer is sparkling clean and the setup is levelled and supported on jack stands. The menu is easy to read. Selections seem to entail breakfast tacos, burritos, tacos, stuffed sopes, and something else that i dont specifically recall. The descriptions were a little confusing. I wasn't sure if the option related only to the meat selection, or every indgredient item. No big deal. If i were inclined i would order exactly what i wanted, but i went through the thought process of considering exactly what is being communicated. I ordered 3 tacos pastor and 1 sope barbacoa. The lady asked if i would like flour or corn tortillas then also if i wanted onions and cilantro on my tacos. That sounded good to me. So be it with corn tortillas. I took a seat and waited for my order which was prepared on a reasonable amount of time. The tacos were packaged into a paper bag with napkins and 2 each green and red salsa cups. The sope was presented on a styrofoam container. The items totalled $11.00 At the house i unpacked my goods to reveal the tacos al pastor. The pastor is a pleasing red tint with a shimmer of juice. The meat fat is moderate, these weren't greasy tacos. The meat is lightly seasoned. The cilantro and onion are finely chopped to almost a uniform shape and consistency. The open taco sitting on it's wax paper wrapper within the foil wrapper is visually pleasing and appetizing with the artful cilantro and onion atop. The corn tortilla appears thin, but proves to be perfectly durable throughout the consumption of the taco. The tortilla has an excellent al dente yet slightly chewy texture that contrasts with the tender small bits of meat within. The salsas are very tasty. They are thin in consistency and fine in texture which allows the condiment to infiltrate the serving for an even flavor throughout. The green salsa seems spicier than red, green seemingly jalepeño flavor based. Onto the sope. This is pretty much a tostada on a sope bread instead of corn shell. The sope is reminiscent of a thick tortilla. Visually somewhat translucent as if not a fully cooked tortilla for instance. The grilled gluten provides the flavor of the tortilla, yet the bite is moist and tender. The greens are fresh and properly dry. Again the meat is lightly seasoned leaving plenty of room for even the lettuce to speak out, my selection of salsa as well. Concentrating a bit on the beans that are underlying the meat, very tasty. Everything works together. I really like 3 Hermanas Taqueria and anticipate my next visit soon. And I am also inclined to patron one of the other vendors on that corner as well. read more

I just left this place and have to say, it is delicious. The fajita quesadilla was nice and hot, with a slight crunch each bite I took. It was complimented with a side of lettuce, pico and salsa. The customer service was great. Hard working individuals making delicious food. There are benches for seating along with a covered roof top as well. It's a nice quiet place to enjoy a great meal. I'm so happy that North Austin has a Food truck plaza! Not sure exactly what to call it "north Austin's best kept food truck secret" lol 3 Hermanas Taqueria FTW!!! Came here just for the Migas Tacos and ended up getting more just because it taste so damn good! Got the Migas one with corn tortilla and the other with flour (the corn definitely was better) but it's doesn't matter they were both bomb! The Chopped jalapeños were a game changer! Eggs and chorizo was so good and packed with flavor! Taco Barbacoa (heaven) was so tender and juicy Ended up ordering one after I ate my meal, oh and my BF order another after his meal! We only came for breakfast.. and ended up having lunch too! Don't forget the salsas yum! The owners were nice and friendly! After eating at nearly every Mexican restaurant around here, this truly was an eye opening experience. I have no idea why I had never heard of this place because the food is absolutely amazing. Even though this food truck is cash only it's absolutely worth it to bring a few bucks here to spend it. The menu is simple. The workers are extremely nice and prepare the food fast. I've tried their (beef fajita) tortas and they are the BEST!!! My husband loves their beef fajita tacos (pictured)! We're looking forward to coming back to try more items on their menu (and of course get more tortas and tacos)! It's the little yellow trailer that started the trailer food court on Anderson Mill. Great tacos, sopes and tortas. I like that the menu is so simple it doesn't overwhelm you, and really anything on the menu is delicious. Tortillas las are fresh, salsa has a nice kick to it and the torta has avocado (great surprise as anywhere you go avocado is always eXtra). There are plenty of benches to sit outside and enjoy or on a cold morning just eat in you car . Bring cash. Don't forget your topochico. read more

I love the food here It's amazing. The carnitas, barbacoa, pastor are authentic and flavorful. The salsa is yummy. I wish I'd never found this place. I have been going to this taco truck for months and finally decided to write a review! I'm a none meat eater so I can personally vouch for the none meat tacos. Although my carnivorous friend has had the meat options and loves them. The nopales (cactus) and egg and the bean and cheese are my go-to tacos. They are great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. One of my favorite things to do is to order my "usual" and take them with me on a hike. It's a nice treat at the end of a long hike. They are no longer warm but they are good enough to eat room temperature. The green tomatillo salsa is my favorite! read more

This is our families new favorite food truck. One of the best taco's in the greater Austin area and definitely on the north side of town. I sampled the migas, bistec, and campechano tacos the first time and they were all amazing. The tortillas taste fresh made no matter what time you get there, and the service is always fast and wonderful. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have tried every vegetarian item on their menu, and while everything is great, my personal favorites are: - cheese enchiladas with mole verde (I get this 99% of the time because they are my favorite enchilada in town) - the chile rellano (it's listed in the sides, but I promise you that it can be a meal in itself) - their rice (comes with many of their plates or inside of their enchiladas) is actually soooooo good and one of the things I look forward to - queso (nothing different about it, but it's just a really good standard queso) - flaquita (spicy watermelon margarita; I don't need to say more) - sangria blanca (super refreshing) Up until a few months ago, I would have given this place five stars, but I've noticed a decline in service that is making me knock it down to a four. For example, they used to give free chips and salsa the second you sat down, but the last three times, I've had to ask them for it (pro tip: ask for chips and salsa!!). I've also noticed slower and less attentive service. Overall, I still love El Alma, and when it comes to food and vibes, it has withstood the test of time. Everyone I introduce to El Alma falls in love (my sister visits me once a year, and El Alma is always on the agenda). Not only have I been coming here multiple times a year for the past five years, but I know I will be coming for as long as they are around.

I didn't love it quite as much, but this is still an easy 5-star review for me. Note: this is not the easiest place to find. You literally have to walk in between some big, orange road blockers (is that what you call them?), to enter an alley. You then walk into a small bar, and then from there, you enter the actual restaurant. It's like a taco speakeasy, and it's glorious.

The tacos (chicken) were really really good. As were the sauces. Their flour tortillas are fresh and look like homemade ones. The quantity of chicken ( especially in my chicken burrito) , left a lot to be desired. It was also a little chewy. Cannot complain about the overall taste, though.
