First, maybe a little bias as I regularly visit here. *wink*. BUT I wouldn't be a regular if I wasn't extremely happy with: Quality of the food, the extremely friendly atmosphere AND service that goes above and beyond. Taco House kinda reminds me of the small "mom and pop" shops back home, where you don't feel like a customer when you enter, but extended family. You'll see this almost anytime, the endless banter between everyone. People who don't know each other start chatting it up. A unity which is much needed now a days. Okay, now let's not get off topic. We are here for the tacos. Tacos range from your standard tacos (fajita and Al pastor etc) to the more unique specialities. I haven't had a bad taco. But I'll say my last visit I did the street taco plate which hit all the notes I needed. Highly recommend. And pricing is beyond fair for what is offered. Enjoy!!!!

I saw this place on Yelp while looking for a good breakfast taco spot. It was easy enough to find, they have parking right outside of the location which was convenient. It's a a cozy little spot that has good energy. There were people dining in, but most seemed to be ordering takeout which is also what I did. I wasn't sure of how big or small the tacos would be so I ordered 3, all potato, egg, bacon and cheese. The tacos were on the smaller side, but they tasted good and were filling. My only regret is not asking for extra salsa. I asked for both red and green, they gave me 2 green and 1 red. All in all, I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area, the vibes were right and they weren't too expensive. I look forward to trying other things on the menu next time.

Taco has a good flavor, but unfortunately, it lists on Uber Eats that you will get cheese, egg and bacon on your taco, and that the items you choose are just additional to the taco. This is not the case only the items you choose out of the list are what will go on your taco. So at the top where it says your taco will come with egg, cheese, and bacon, is incorrect.

love the migas tacos with chilaquiles chips! this morning taco was almost all chips however it was still delicious ! salsa was flavorful with a nice kick! small spot with limited seating - best for to go orders.

This was a tucked off spot I found nearby an Airbnb I stayed this weekend. Had good reviews so had to check it out. The staff were nice and quick with my order. The place is small so i noticed it was all order for takeout mostly. As for my tacos, I didn't take a pic but the nopales and egg were my favorite. Great salsa with the tacos as well. The downside was my potatoes in the tacos weren't cooked fully or right to where they were started to get soft. Didn't enjoy that too much. The barbacoa was ok. Wasn't a lot of flavor to it. And the tortillas were a little chewy. I'm very picky when it comes to my tacos, so I can't say I'd return to try it again. Sorry guys.

Hands down my favorite taco stop! I have started taking my kids to get breakfast tacos and they absolutely love the bacon, egg, and cheese tacos. They are very tasty. I have tried several of the tacos, and they are all amazing. Right now I have been getting the Avalon add Eggs, but as a burrito. The sauces are great as well. I've just gotten hip to the jalepeño ranch. When you walk in it's small, but cozy. I love stopping by because it feels like a home and everyone knows everyone. The staff is friendly, and how I came about trying the Avalon and the ranch. It's my go to when I have family and friends in town as well.

    Beef lunch burrito

I've heard really good things about the breakfast tacos but came around lunch time so I opted for a beef fajita lunch burrito. The restaurant is only open until 2pm and pretty small so it's packed during lunch time. A teeny bit chaotic in there because of the lack of space so you're better off taking your order to go. The beef burrito was flavorful and has a nice kick to it with the pico and jalapeños; it's also toasted on the outside so it has great texture; however it is a bit steep for $11 and it's small. You could get a chipotle burritos twice the size for the same price. I really wish there was more rice. Next time I'm going to try their breakfast tacos. It seems like that's really where they shine!

    Barely a mouthful. $3.

They never pick up their phone for a call in order, yet are always on the phone when you inevitably have to drive in to town to place your order in person. You can place an order online, BUT only with a meal delivery service. Totally bogus. And when you do get there, be prepared to wait 20 minutes to get four simple breakfast tacos. The most sullen family ever running the front of house. Like they are pissed you've come in to patronize their business. My tiny 2.5 oz taco cost $3. It's barely two bites and where's the bacon? Pville deserves much better.

Needed a light and cheap snack to hold us over, and found this place. Got the chicken fajita taco and carne guisada. The chicken was seasoned well. I didn't realize that the carne guisada doesn't come with any fixings (like the traditional cilantro/onion, etc), but it was a lot of meat! Small seating area (4 ish tables) and no bathroom that I could see. Free street parking. Customer service was nice. Probably wouldn't intentionally come back as we had better tacos at other places, but it was good for our needs at the time.

Food was good! Service was okay- cashier wasn't that friendly but overall still a good experience.

Always a spot to park in. Waiting for the weather to cool down to enjoy the outside patio. Been a few times here now and tried a bit of everything. Their menudo is also a go to for me. Literally everything on the menu is worth a try once.

We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread. Before I get to the food, I want to recognize the excellent customer service. Since it was my first visit, I had quite a few questions. The employee helping us was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She walked us through all of the flight options, and let us know that everything was made fresh to order, so there would be a short wait. I appreciated the transparency, and when our food arrived I soon found out it was worth the wait. The standout for me was the grilled cheese waffle with tomato soup. The soup tasted homemade, with bright tomato flavor and generous chunks of tomato throughout. It was fresh, and absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese featured a flavorful muenster and provolone instead of the standard cheddar you find everywhere else, and the waffle itself was crispy on the outside with a perfect gooey cheese pull. My friend enjoyed the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread since I'm not a huge fan of Biscoff. I did try the strawberries and cream, though, and both were excellent. The strawberries were fresh, sweet, and firm, while the cream tasted rich and homemade. The chicken and waffles were outstanding. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, and the waffle had a wonderful texture: light and airy inside with a crisp exterior. It was served with syrup and a remoulade-style sauce. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with fun murals, word art and nods to Round Rock. For a first visit, Waffle Love made a fantastic impression. The next time I'm in Round Rock, I'll be ordering another waffle flight, probably the same 3 selections, just without the Biscoff spread.

John passed away in early 2024, while his family took over the shop in Pflugerville. Now just about a decade after opening shop, Brotherton's is closing down at the end of August. Following John's passing, they've hit a few road bumps from the rising cost of beef that's been plaguing Texas BBQ. Earlier in January they posted on social media how they were struggling, and again last spring. At the start of August, the Brotherton's family announced Brotherton's Black Iron BBQ in Pflugerville was shuttering for good at the end of August. Knowing this would be the last time I would be able to try it, my buddy and I took an extended lunch break on a Friday to give it a shot. Upon arrival at just around 11:50, we noticed that the parking lot was packed with multiple food trucks and other businesses filling the shopping center. We got lucky with a parking spot far away as we marched inside to wait in line. On the door lay plenty of stickers from different BBQ joints from Texas and beyond, with even some coming from overseas. The line moved slowly but surely, and as we got to the front we got our three-meat plate with a bonus slice of turkey for good measure. We ended up getting to Brotherton's at the perfect time because we got the final slices of brisket on that glorious Friday. I'll share my thoughts on everything we tried: Brisket: Though it looked like a great cut that was nicely seasoned, it was pretty fine overall. Nothing remarkable about their brisket while still very fatty. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage: Juicy, cheesy, not really too spicy on the jalapeño side of things, but that might just be from the mildness of jalapeños these days. Pork Ribs: These suckers looked incredible from the pictures I saw online and on social media, but they were kinda disappointing based on how incredible they looked visually. They were good, just not as epic as I was hoping. Turkey: Turkey is underrated in the BBQ scene, and this is no exception. A nice cut of meat! Cornbread Casserole: I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. Green Chili Mac and Cheese: I'll repeat myself. I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. As a whole, I'm very glad I gave them a shot before I would never be able to again. That's the hardest part about Texas barbecue. The best places and the historic spots can drop in a moment's notice when hardships hit or the meat prices skyrocket. Sadly, I can tell that they're already at the end of their rope with certain menu options like the loaded nachos and baked potatoes, which always seem like the sign of the end. And with how the food was simply just decent overall, it's hard to justify the rising prices. I see reviews all over saying their quality has fallen off year after year following JMFB's passing, and it makes sense: he was the heart and the soul of the business. When that vaporizes overnight, it's only a matter of time. I don't wish for the downfall of any spot, but I understand that it's bound to happen to certain ones. RIYL: Paying respects to one of the greats in Texas BBQ
