"Jackie" states " I have papers nothing to worry about" while her friends let out a great big laugh. To say this to someone who is minding their business sitting down is unacceptable & wildly inappropriate. My husband, a stroke survivor walking with a wheeled walker, had no problem getting through to the entryway on the long paved path from the external gate on Miles Street. Inside, the exhibits are so interesting and the facility is bright and clean. We love Indio, so seeing the history of the city's populace enriched our understanding about life in early days. They have a beautiful shop which is now added to my list if cool places to obtain unique gift items. Parking is right across Miles on the corner, directly facing the big museum gate. A ramp connects the parking lot to the roadway. While the property is not a massive one, Coachella Valley Museum is a rich cultural walk through the olden days and you are still close to the downtown area and hidden foodie hangouts like Gabino's Creperie and the Friday Night Food Trucks or the sweet Farmers' Market.

I was told that the owner, JP, has extensive knowledge about everything koi ponds and is a wonderful resource for advising on the installation and required equipment. I wasn't sure that koi would live in this hot desert environment but apparently they do just fine! Zen had a great selection of koi fish in multiple sizes and all the accoutrements to go with them. If I go through with the project I will definitely hit JP up!

This trailhead seemed popular especially since it's close to the city. For this particular trail, you follow the signs for Indio Hills Badlands. It's straightforward for the most part but also recommend downloading the map from AllTrails in case you need it. Trail was comprised of sand and dirt. Plenty of rock formations throughout the hike and awesome views at higher elevation. This hike sort of reminds me of a mix of Slot Canyon in Anza Borrego and Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce. I was a member at Desert Barbell attending 6 days a week, 2 hours a day. During my first few visits…read moreI was reminded to re-rack weights which I corrected immediately every time without issue. My membership was terminated citing 'several complaints' funneled through one third party with zero specifics ever provided to me. I kept entirely to myself during every visit. In their own written communication they explicitly stated I 'generally followed all written gym rules' -- yet terminated my membership anyway based on vague unspecified allegations with no dates, incidents, or specifics ever disclosed to me. After receiving no explanation I reached out to two members through social media seeking clarification -- a natural response when accused of unspecified wrongdoing. Rather than address my questions the owner called me a 'predator' in writing with absolutely no evidence or basis whatsoever. For a gym recognized with the State Senate Award, Mayor's Award, and Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce Small Business Award -- the owner's conduct represents the opposite of everything those awards stand for. I have full documentation of every written communication, including contacting the USPA for further review
