My husband, a stroke survivor walking with a wheeled walker, had no problem getting through to the entryway on the long paved path from the external gate on Miles Street. Inside, the exhibits are so interesting and the facility is bright and clean. We love Indio, so seeing the history of the city's populace enriched our understanding about life in early days. They have a beautiful shop which is now added to my list if cool places to obtain unique gift items. Parking is right across Miles on the corner, directly facing the big museum gate. A ramp connects the parking lot to the roadway. While the property is not a massive one, Coachella Valley Museum is a rich cultural walk through the olden days and you are still close to the downtown area and hidden foodie hangouts like Gabino's Creperie and the Friday Night Food Trucks or the sweet Farmers' Market.

I was impressed by the water world inside this store with a truly magnificent tank by the register that had the coolest stingray swimming around. I was told that the owner, JP, has extensive knowledge about everything koi ponds and is a wonderful resource for advising on the installation and required equipment. I wasn't sure that koi would live in this hot desert environment but apparently they do just fine! Zen had a great selection of koi fish in multiple sizes and all the accoutrements to go with them. If I go through with the project I will definitely hit JP up!

The atmosphere was fun and lively, and the staff was very accommodating and laid-back throughout the whole event. We never felt rushed and were able to take our time enjoying the afternoon. The girls had so much fun bowling, cheering each other on, and celebrating together. It was great to see them laughing and enjoying themselves after working so hard all season. The parents had a great time too--chatting, catching up, and celebrating the season alongside the girls. After bowling, many of the kids spent time in the arcade area. While it's not huge, there were plenty of games to keep them entertained and they had a lot of fun trying different things and competing with each other. Overall, it was a really fun and memorable way to wrap up the season. Between the bowling, the food, the arcade, and the relaxed atmosphere, it made for a great team celebration. I never got a tour so once I got I to the gym I was shocked. I took a couple photos because I was repulsed on how dirty the gym was. There were paper towel dispensers around the gym all empty. There were also multiple machines broken down for repair. There was no managers just 1 front desk working on a Tuesday 4/22. I feel bad for the staff here obviously working with no budget for staffing and no cleaning crew. After a few exercises I had to leave because I was worried I would get sick in a facility like this. I will be staying at Eos Fitness and glad to see those locations keep cleanliness and building maintenance top quality. Also Eos Fitness is 24 hours unlike this location.

This is a great hike that is not very challenging but offers tremendous views of the Coachella…read moreValley and a very different geological perspective from the surrounding area. This hike was 80% sand pathways and 20% maneuvering through the slot canyons with a few switchbacks. I'd recommend this as a must do hike if you're in the area and have 90-120 minutes. It's approximately a 5 mile loop hike.
