I went here for the first time on Saturday at 1pm and it was, unexpectedly, one of the best bars I've been to so far in NYC! Rudy is the main contributing factor to my review; he was amazing! We ordered the Totchos (tater tot nachos) which were delicious and had drinks flowing. Nikki, another bartender, arrived before we left and she was also so wonderful. Super fun bar! Came here on a Saturday night and played beer pong and flip cup with friends. There are two tables in the back that can be used to play either flip cup or beer pong. The tables also have like a little diagram so you know how to set up beer pong or where to place your cups for flip cup. There's an upstairs area with another bar and the bathrooms. read more

I am here now and have been here for some Wednesday nights. It is dollar beer night. I think it is awesome to come here. Crowd is decent, I suggest coming in a group. I used to come when it was Town Tavern on Tuesday nights. It was the best now, well best for a Wednesday when you have nothing else to do. As a lady the bar tender ignores my drink order and unfathomably nasty is too blind to see my presence as I hailed numerous times for place my order. Three Sheets Saloon was the starting point of a artistic conglomerate skewered open-mic poetry reading pub crawl--presumably the post-Happy Hour crowd horde of New York University students. What a girl to do to place a drink order where the staff is too blind to see and too apathetic to care? I kindly asked a fellow prolific poet friend to place my order. For $12.00 Cosmopolitan to wait for an eternity was just average as it was nothing extraordinary from the ordinary. Another fellow poet friend found her house white wine inedible for vile taste. N.B. Patrons must have valid proof of identification for entrance which Three Sheets Saloon are socially responsible as per New York State law of legal age drinking requirement. As per their business card in a baseball shape coaster "Happy Hour runs Monday thru Fridays from 2pm to 8pm. for half price on the whole bar." I would hope that includes mixed coctail drinks. Do you ever feel like you need a drink during in the evening on a Saturday between 5:30-8:00pm?? If so this is place to get that drink. Drinks are half price except Long Islands and Top Shelf liquor...for $3.25 a drink I will take it...I was taking it a little light with Armeretto Sours = 4 or 5. Other people at the table had titis with cranberry juice that they enjoyed as well. The phlucking buffalo chicken nachos were sooooooooooooooo awesome!! You know it's good when no one at the table is talking so they can eat. The buffalo wings were ok, but not better than the nachos. Just talking about it makes me want to drive across the bridge. We ordered Tater Tots that were loaded, but I didn't eat any due to the fullness in my belly. Man this place is awesome. They have amazing happy hour drink specials and two floors to hang out in. On the top floor they even have beer pong tables set up. The happy hours here are awesome! From 2 to 8 they have one and then there is an additional happy hour following that! Thats two seperate happy hours...Oh happy day. The bar tender I encountered upstairs was not the most pleasant but he wasn't the worst either. I guess when you're serving drinks for half price you get half the pleasantries. Downstairs they were much more friendly so I made it my business to actually walk down there when I wanted a drink. Nice Bar tenders get nice tips. I will say the drinks are pretty weak. But when you're paying half price for them you can't be too upset. Downstairs was the less weak of the two. Even more reason to stay down there. All in all I would definitely stop in here if in the area. Its awesome that they have two happy hours so cheap drinks for a longer amount of time is always reason enough to stop by. read more

We got a table to play beer pong then switched to flip cup so everyone had a fun time. As far as the food goes, my boyfriend and I split an order of pork nachos. They were okay, it was very difficult to break them apart so I just peeled the cheese off of the top and ate plain nachos with salsa and sour cream. Overall, a cheap night out in the city. I probably would not recommend this place if you are looking to get a beer with a friend, it is more of a white girl wasted type of place. 5 stars to the bartender - quick, friendly and easily got their attention. 2-3 stars for pretty much everything else... this is not your fancy bar, but that's obviously not why you're here. During the SuperBowl it wasn't overly crowded, upstairs they had plenty of space to stand. It was half off all night, crazy cheap drinks..we're talking $3 beers. We came to this bar because it was right next door to the one we were already at. The bartenders and workers were nice, nothing too crazy. I loved that they had a charging booth for phones there. You can securely keep your phone in there and charge it without worrying about someone stealing it. I also loved the free photo booth they had where it would email you photos! I'm a big fan of this place & I'm a big fan of Dives and semi Dives, this place falls between, but the needle clearly points towards awesomeness. The divometer must have affordable drinks and this place has exceptionally affordable drinks especially during happy hours around $3 for domestic pints and specials all the time. I happen to fall into a group of Ironworkers the day I rolled in then, they were buying for all that chose to join them, mamma didnt raise no fools especially when it's free. I noticed a lot of smiles and people enjoying them self which keeps pushing the divometer in the right direction. The one thing for me that really stood out was the wonderful selection of alternative music that particular day. Many of the cutting-edge favorites such as my 80 faves like Depeche Mode but they were playing their new music that just came out along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and a few other modern tracks that that I wasn't quite privy to. It really had a very cool feel as the night rolled from happy hour into the evening the same relaxed group of people replaced one another and the smiles continued into the evening. The place was fairly clean as far as dive standards are concerned and the bar menu was exceptional with many of the usual offerings but made perfectly. Unfortunately nothing really comes to mind, I mean a chicken wing is a chicken wing, but these chicken wings rocked. So, to sum it up, Omg so cool awesome music and priced right, warm and inviting. As per usual the bartenders are nice and the people are your typical college kids when you first walk in. The upstairs to this place brings a new atmosphere and makes you feel like you are long gone from the pong tables. ::::BATHROOM ALERT:::: Their bathrooms are actually quite clean but the downside is that they are upstairs for people that want to stay on the 1st floor. Be careful you might slip or fall if your a drunk person so make sure to watch yourself. The stalls were clean and the soap dispensers were very full they must fill them everyday unlike some places that I know. For some reason the 3rd stall always seemed to be the cleanest. I don't think this place is given enough credit because it's sister bars are so close by and for my taste I wouldn't see myself going here on the weekend because from what I've saw it gets super packed. I remember once while I was on my way into fat black pussy cat there was a fight that happened and blood was drawn so, ever since then I've been side tracked into going into this place. The music they play is a mixture and the girls that go there are usually drunk within an hour because of the Wednesday special. I still prefer down the hatch on Tuesday nights because the bartenders are awesome. The reason for the four stars is because of the clean bathroom and the fact the train is literally steps away that's always a plus when your drunk and want to get home asap. If you've been to Gin Mill, Jake's Dilemma, Down the Hatch, Stumble Inn, Off the Wagon, you've been to the eat merry or whatever chains. They're all the same. I have to say that maybe I'm not part of the norm when I say that I actually like this place. A friend of mine who lived in the area referred us to this place after we were done with a workshop. My friend let our group know that it was basically half off everything until 8pm. We got there around 4 so it was pretty empty so we managed to get a table right away and then managed to get more tables put together by a staff member. Our waitress, Taylor was a bit of a slow start but the more people showed up the faster, more responsive and generally pretty terrific she became. I ended up having 4 or 5 beers and then got the buffalo chicken quesadilla which was pretty good! I did have about 3 beers first though but it was a tasty.
