Everything is fabulous on this platter. (I wish the jalapeño poppers were cheesier.)

I'm a big-back and big-boned so I go for the combo and beer. I absolutely love spicing things up and adding variety to life. This combo and pitcher of beer is a man's (woman's and all things under the Sun) treasure. The servers and bar staff are awesome. Love how dark and dim it is.

Polite staff good ambiance for a Monday at 1pm. Josie's house ale was good. Chicken fingers would not recommend. Overall great place I would recommend. Also there are some pool tables. Appreciate the dim lighting.

I came here to watch the Knicks play the Sixers and feel somewhat at home being from Philly. The cider was fairly priced for Manhattan, the pool table is well lit, there's plenty of TVs and the energy is amazing. It fit the bill for me.

Been coming here for over 12 years , it's on Waverly place. You have to walk down a flight a stairs to get in ..plenty of TVs a back room , 2 pools tables and a dart board near by . I've come here for the happy hour wings which are still the same flavor as before it's 10 wings for $12 . It's used to be under $9 before 8pm . Pretty side menu here ... a decent Amount of food for your wallet here too. They have a juke box by the front door . From me coming here it's basically a good bar for groups during the day or just to grab a beer and finger food too. The bartenders here are very friendly and helpful too. The owners here are fine . They mostly managed the place as the night goes on. .

Classic dive bar and one of the better ones in the area due to 1- it being quieter 2- there being lots of space 3- option to play pool 4- lots of beer and bar food options 5- events like trivia taking place here and 6- fast, efficient, and attentive service, with the ability to handle a large group with ease. The vibe is laid-back but has a homey, festive vibe that could be cozy enough to make it "the" place for your friends and you. Definitely saw some older people who hang out here regularly. Plus, it's not the typical place for undergrad students to be at. Got the chicken nachos, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, guacamole, and chips and salsa. The nachos were the biggest hit! They were so easy to share. The guac was great, but such a small portion. The mozzarella sticks were, of course, loved by all. My favorite was the chicken fingers because I'm all about that deep-fried protein. Successful class gathering at Josie Woods! Recommend if you're looking for a bar to casually hang in with big groups.

It's kind of an NYU bar that's at least hidden down a flight of stairs. Never heard of this place and never would notice it unless a friend of ours pointed it out to us. Maybe it's new. But yeah. The drinks are somewhat affordable, they have pool tables. I ended up going later hours which was kind of funny because as I came in we asked why it was so crowded and the bouncer said 'college basketball'. I asked 'Who's winning?' Which is probably a stupid question considering that there were probably like six games going on at the time but he alerted me to the fact that most teams people were rooting for being in the final four just got eliminated, including Gonzaga and my face fell as did my bracket. Anyway, happy hour specials: Monday-Friday 4-8pm: Bud light Pints - $5, Josie Woods Ale - $6, Well Drinks - $6, and Buffalo Wings - $12. Not sure how happy those prices are especially $12 chicken wings but okay. Normal hour prices are $6-7 anyway so you're only saving a buck. You can also get a can of Genesee at any hour for only $4. That's probably the smart way to go if you're here just for beer. Food menu sounds like generic bar food at relatively average prices. If I were in the area and couldn't think of anything else, sure.

Best staff in town! The bartenders in particular take great care of their customers. Been coming here regularly for going on 4 years now, and it will always be my go-to. Particularly great for: 1 - beer & food during the game (they show just about every sport, but notable for NFL and Yankees games), 2 - cheap & strong pre-drinks to start a night out, or 3 - a laid-back night with good friends. There's plenty of space here for groups, including a sit-down area, a bar, 2 pool tables, free darts, and a jukebox. Their specials are also worth a look for good deals. Can't recommend highly enough!

The bartender was rude. I asked for water that they wouldn't give me water and said they don't serve water. Absolutely ridiculous!

Josie's is where I've spent the happiest days of my youth. Opt for the waffle fries but don't get a Grateful Dead, unless you dare

Walked in to The Doors & Offspring playing. Super friendly servers and bartenders, a couple with Irish accents, all with smiles. Spacious.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with champagne, which immediately set the tone for a special evening. Our server, Daniel, was beyond amazing. He was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making our anniversary meaningful. It never felt forced just thoughtful, polished hospitality. The team went above and beyond when we brought our wedding cake (which had been frozen for a year). Not only did they accommodate it without hesitation, they helped decorate and present it beautifully you would have thought it had been baked that same day. It was such a touching moment for us, and they handled it with care and enthusiasm. As for the food: incredible. The steak tartare was perfectly balanced and beautifully prepared. The tuna was fresh and vibrant. And the Beef Wellington... honestly one of the best I've had in New York City. Perfectly cooked, rich, elegant, and absolutely worthy of a celebration dinner. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance: romantic, warm, refined but relaxed. It felt special without being stiff. If you're looking for a place to celebrate something meaningful, this is it. We will absolutely return.

We started with the steak tartare with Melba toast and caviar. For entrees we had the creamy cavatelli with maitake and squash. Always a solid choice, though it could have been a bit colder. The bartenders were very nice and attentive, and the place clearly has a strong group of regulars. There was a friendly, familiar energy in the room that made it feel welcoming right away. Once my friend arrived, I tried "The Greatest Espresso Martini" and asked to swap the vodka for bourbon. They were very accommodating, and the drink turned out delicious. Rich, smooth, and good enough that I ordered a second. Unfortunately, our server only heard that 5 of us wanted afternoon tea, and one of the tiers of food was smaller than the others. We also had to pay extra for additional tea, which we were fine with, but service was severely lacking throughout. Our server didn't check up on us, and seemed to want us to leave quickly after dropping off the check. We would have been happy to pay the $65 each for afternoon tea, but it wasn't worth it and frankly, I was agitated by the whole ordeal by the time I left. We were also disappointed by the food items (as they were lacking) and nothing about this was like other experiences we had with other afternoon teas. I can't in good faith recommend this place, nor do I see myself coming back after the atrocious service we experienced.
