When I lived in Huntsville there were a very few places to go for a good smothered pork chop and before I left Huntsville, a smothered pork chop was nowhere to found but I was in Huntsville last weekend for an event and met Henry and Shay and little did I know that I would be sitting in their restaurant for a lite afternoon snack that was beyond measure. I chose the smothered pork chops, cabbage, and black eyed peas. The 3 Sistas are good reason for me to increase my visit to Huntsville not only because I enjoyed my meal immensely today but I also eyeballed some items on the menu like the oxtails, Shay's lasagna, and the fried fish and shrimp. Just another reminder to never judge a book by its cover. Yelp gave it great reviews so we steered off the beaten path in search of this new place for lunch. When we drove up, I was a little skeptical, we all were, but in for a penny, in for a pound all 4 of us marched in. Small, older and definitely not upscale we found a table. We were greeted by the owner and head cook Miss Joyce. Edwin came to take our order and was so friendly. The food was solid! Miss Joyce can definitely throw down some vittles and the portions were ample. If you are ever in Huntsville, and you want some good Soul food, stop by 3 Sistas. The chicken was crispy, the gravy over the rice was on point, and the sides tasted like somebody's grandma was in the back cooking. Hubby and I ate there today. First time in. Waiter and other employees were very polite and friendly. We started out with the salad bar. Tried a little of everything. Everything on the salad bar was good. The pea salad was a little different than what I am used to but it was ok. I had the fried porkchops with yams and greens. Greens were a little salty for my taste, otherwise, the meal was very, very good. My husband had the fried catfish with mac and cheese and beans and rice. He said it was the best catfish he's ever had. The breading was perfect. We had the strawberry/cherry cheesecake for dessert and it was awesome. Don't pass up this little mom and pop "hole in the wall" place! We went on a Saturday, which is their BBQ, day and we had the absolute BEST BBQ we have had in forever. Their brisket was so juicy, ribs beyond tender, and their smoked sausage were all legit. They make their own BBQ sauce too-so make sure to try that! The sides were great and their banana pudding was amazing. We snagged a peach cobbler too. The waitstaff were so friendly and you can tell they truly care and take pride in what they are doing! We already have plans to drive up from Conroe to try their "normal" weekday menu. Seriously... don't pass it up. Or do, so everyone else can keep this place our little secret! read more

Amazing meal(s) from here. I don't eat alot of food but I like to sample a lot of food. And so I order not 1 but 2 plates plus a dessert all for the embarrassingly cheap price of $24. I'll start with the few somewhat lackluster. The beans could have used a bit of a kick. The wings were delicious and crispy and FRESH. But I wish the batter was better seasoned. It was a tad bland. Everything else was FANTASTIC !!! Mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. The greens were very fresh and tasty. But the star of the show for me was the very unique peach cheesecake. wooooow!!!! They need to figure out a way to distribute this all throughout the state of Texas!!! I can't even explain how good it was. Just come and get it. The service was super good. Last night...our organization took a group of veterans to Huntsville for a Journey through Bethlehem interactive experience and dinner. Before our event, we had dinner at 3 Sistas restaurant. I called Friday to ask is our group of 16 would be able to be accommodated as we didn't want to just show up. To my heartbreak, I was told they would be closed on Saturday. But...Ms. Joyce, the owner asked what time we were looking to come by and I told her 5pm. Imagine my surprise when she offered to open just for us! Yes ..Ms, Joyce and her son Henry opened their doors just for us and provided an amazing menu that was good for our bodies and our soul. Ms. Joyce and Henry were kind, gracious and went above and beyond to give us a family dining experience. When in Huntsville...pay her a visit and show some love... it's more than worth it...the food was delicious... EVERYTHING was delicious! It was a cold day, far drive and a long evening...but when you meet people like Ms. Joyce and Henry,... it's priceless and our veterans talked about it all night! GREAT down home cookin' filled my tummy with smothered pork chops, southern greens, candied yams, 1/2 sweet tea mixed with 1/2 lemonade and topped it off with sweet potato dump cake. My group was returning to Dallas from Galveston after a cruise and we wanted to have lunch about halfway back. Someone mentioned fried chicken, so I searched for that along our route and found 3 Sistas. We almost missed it despite using GPS since the building was an old gas station that had been repurposed as a restaurant. When we arrived there was one other table of people dining in, but a stream of customers coming in to pick up to go orders. There were 4 meat dishes listed on the white board as available that day as well as a comprehensive number of side items. Our group of four ordered 3 out of the 4 items and a variety of sides. Our server brought a basket of cornbread with two distinct types of cornbread. There was a lovely honey basted cornbread and an above average southern yellow cornbread. Each of the sides we tried had their own broth and seasoning blend to make the various beans and greens shine. The fried chicken was outstanding, the southern barbecue riblets were unique and flavorful, and the smothered chicken was covered in a savory gravy. The service was great.
