Found a great little local gem while on a road trip in south Texas. Small cafe with tacos, burgers, sandwiches. Food was good and service was prompt. Server CJ was very sweet and southern (ma'am and sir), loved it. Ring the bell on the way out to say you enjoyed the meal.

Great little cafe by the tracks in Riverside. They offer authentic tacos with your choice of lingua (beef tongue) or barbacoa. We decided to try the lingua and barbacoa meat tacos. Very good! This was my first time here and was recommended by the camp near by, this place was truly a home away from home atmosphere. The customer service was amazing and friendly. I was in town for work and had to feed a whole crew. The place itself is adorable, the staff was friendly, they packed plenty of sauce and utensils for me to take back too. There are not enough good things to say about Frank's!!! Food is amazing and the selection gives enough variety for everyone to find something. Absolutely the best tasting grilled fish and shrimp tacos I've had in Texas. The green salsa on the side is so refreshing and full of cilantro flavor. Every one working here is so nice and friendly. I've been here several times over the years and they have consistent home cooking and nice service. The portions are very generous, and if you can eat the entire chicken fried steak, two sides, toast, and salad you're a better man than me. read more

Really good food and portions for the price. My server was very enthusiastic to serve me. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because a woman worker that seemed to be the manager talked with and checked on every table but mine. Not a deal breaker but it makes people feel ignored and like I wasn't part of the clique. Other than that, I'm full and satisfied. read more

I'd heard that Frank's Taco Station was good and today I can confirm that it's true. I ordered George's Burrito with rice, beans, meat and some veggies and it delish. I waited just a few minutes - maybe 10 - and it was worth every minute. Price is fair for the amount of food you receive. I couldn't eat the entire burrito even though I hadn't had breakfast or lunch and was pretty hungry. There are some tables and booths inside and some picnic tables outside. If you go there after 3pm (or maybe 3:30 pm) you can still get food but you must order from the outside window and pick up your to go order. Would I stop there again? Sure - and they have burgers as well so there is variety! Try it, you'll be glad you did. read more

Great food. Their hamburger is awesome, the bun is almost like a giant roll (it has a hint of a sweetness to it, so if you're not into that then go for something else!...like the chicken fried steak. It won't disappoint) the owner is awesome!; very nice and works hard to make sure his customers are happy. I do have to say, this isn't a fast food place, it's a restaurant where they seemingly "home-cook" their meals, so have patience with the cook time (it's worth it). Also- the salad usually has a lot of "white to light green" iceberg type of lettuce, which isn't appealing to me, but could be for some. To each their own. Other than that, this place is definitely a 5star in my family's eyes! read more

This is a gem of a place. The food is tasty, the service is 5-star and the choices will please everyone. The barbacoa and lengua (according to my husband) were amazing. I had the crispy tacos - actually hand fried (and not Ortega corn shells) with rice and charro beans. I want my beans to taste like theirs. Their pico de gallo and salsa are also really good. Just wish they were open for breakfast for breakfast tacos. Highly recommend. read more

I would give 5 stars if the waitress wasnt so rude it was a older really really short woman I've been there twice and she was the waitress both times she's ridiculously rude I don't understand how she hasn't been fired I'm guessing she is a part owner or the owner I don't know but the food is awesome read more

These had a meat like a chuck roast and the consume was very tasty. They also had Mexican cheese that was melted nicely. The corn tortillas had been dipped in the consume, but they were not fried until they were crunchy. I was disappointed at first, but all the flavors meshed together nicely in my mouth. By the time we had finished and paid out, this place was starting to get packed. They have three small rooms and a patio outside. Next time we will definitely sit outside.

Some improvements could be made.

The feta dip was delicious, the lamb was tender, and the tzatziki, pita bread but the French fries were amazing! Our service was great and we will be back!

We love this place. it is small but packs a lot of punch! The food is delicious. I have loved their burgers. I had the street tacos. They were wonderful. The food is always consistent. Each table gets a basket of chips and hot sauce when you ask. The hot sauce is homemade. They wait staff always have a smile, and a fantastic attitude. We go here frequently. Frank came around and thanked every table for their business. Give them a try. . .it's worth it!! read more

Wonderful good, great service. The tacos and burritos are flavorful and wonderful. The prices are great and can't be beat for the food and how good it tastes. They don't just have tacos, they have something for everyone... Burgers, Country Kitchen, Baked Potatoes, Kids Meals, the list goes on and on... Saturday's they have menudo, dollar off all burgers, and kids get free ice cream... this place has it all...., read more

What a great find! Party of 6, each with a different dish, and everything was exceptional. Clean, good portions, quality ingrediants, fair prices, and great service. Everyone was happy.
