Another great find thanks to fellow Yelpers! I knew I was in for success judging from the crowd that was already gathered here on a Wednesday night and during the start of a light snow storm. Upon checking in with the hostess my friend proceeded to ask her what she recommended for food. She immediately said that the mac-n-cheese with buffalo chicken (add-on) was her favorite. That certainly got my attention. We were immediately brought to a table where our server came over right away to inquire about drinks. We both settled for water. We decided to also ask the server what his favorite food item was on the menu and without hesitation he stated that the chicken-n-waffles was a #gamechanger. I inquired about the mac-n-cheese with buffalo chicken and he said that was absolutely in the top three of his choices. Moments later the server returned to ask if we had decided. My friend and I were both stuck between the chicken-n-waffles and the mac-n-cheese. Our server suggested doing half portions of each so that we can both enjoy them. Sold! We also started with one of the featured appetizers of the month which was the chicken nachos. The nachos were delicious and had a wide range of flavor and heat. The chips were a tad thick for my particular liking but they were great at holding the ingredients together without breaking apart. After inhaling the nachos, our server came over to clear the table and asked how our first course was. He also proceeded to bring us fresh utensil/napkin set. (He did this after each "course".) Next came the buffalo chicken mac-n-cheese. There is no question as to why this is a favorite. Creamy blend of cheeses along with cavatappi pasta and bite size pieces of buffalo chicken with just the right about of heat. After eating this "half portion" tasty dish, we were both ready for the #gamechanger. The chicken-n-waffle half portion dish was in fact unlike anything I had ever had anywhere else. Small sized fluffy waffles, covered in bite size fried chicken pieces and then drenched in a sausage gravy, accompanied by a cup of real maple syrup. As tasty as it was, I'm still not sure how I feel about having the sausage gravy mixed with the maple syrup, once it was time to drizzle that on the waffles. The mix of gravy and syrup is not something I would think goes together well, but I suppose you could ask to have it separated which is what I would probably do next time. Then again, I would certainly want to try some of the other dishes on the menu, as it was full of comfort food and southern style delights. All in all, a 5 star on quality, service, food and atmosphere. There is really not a single complaint. My only regret is that there isn't one of these in my home state of Florida. This is not only a bookmarked place, but certainly one that I hope to visit again someday. read more

We came here this morning eager to try a new place for brunch. We rolled in around probably 9:30 and just barely beat the prime rush time. The restaurant was pretty full but not on a wait list yet when we arrived. But halfway through our meal, there was definitely a wait. Unfortunately, I feel like 3 Squares lined up with my opinion of most of the other Blue Plate restaurants: lots of potential but just always falling flat. So first, my impression of the place upon sitting down was not great. The first thing I noticed was that many of the wood chairs and our table were all pretty beat up - with dings and scratches in the finish. It just seemed a bit old and dated. When we were seated, we were surprised to find that in addition to breakfast, you could also get a number of more lunchy items and they were running a morning happy hour on certain apps. We ordered the potstickers. They were deep fried and kind of meh, clearly frozen. The menu made mention of a ponzu sauce, we thought, but we did not receive any. However, we did receive some very spicy slaw that burned my tongue. For our main meals, I got the Joe's special, which is supposed to be a scramble with spinach, garlic and the housemade sausage. The sausage is actually very unique and tasty - but you have to really like herbs because it is VERY savory. Unfortunately the best thing on my plate was the rye toast. The hashbrowns were not crisped as much as I'd like. My salad had no flavor and barely any dressing. The eggs were incredibly dry (like incredibly). I barely ate half my plate and then had to dump a copious amount of shredded cheese on the leftovers to make them edible. My husband got the chicken and waffles, and I honestly had ordering envy. I am the biggest fan of the chicken in the waffle at the blue barn at the State Fair, and this was basically the same chicken and the same gravy. I love that dish. Unfortunately, for his dish, the gravy wasn't really very hot. Not great, though the flavor certainly was there. In addition, our meal took about 30 minutes to hit our table after we finished the potstickers. I was seated in a location where I could see into the kitchen when the door opened, and the kitchen screen monitoring the tickets was almost all red at one point. Our service was just OK. Read the reviews and thought I was taking my family for a delicious late afternoon lunch/early dinner, well $100+ later the disappointment is undeniable, this place is ridicules the food is unacceptable. Sweet potato fries, tater tots and fish was all fried in the same oil yuk, shrimps was huge and unclean laying on a unwashed bed of cabbage. Mac n cheese in a creamy sauce with gold fish *see picture* oh well tomato tomato! Service was rude my kids asked to leave in a hurry after the server gave them a mean look properly after I didn't leave a tip on my card ( sad she didn't compose her attitude till after we left) they are kids it's not their fault she served unacceptable food. This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. They are a huge supporter of Crimson Football and have one of the best all-time bartenders in Manny. I have come here for years to enjoy Joe's Eggs and a Bloody Mary. Today I arrived only to find my favorite thing gone from the menu. I understand it was a top seller, and I'm totally surprised. I'm having the American Breakfast today. But I won't be back for breakfast anymore. Joe's Eggs made this place special. read more

Enjoyed a very nice lunch with 3 friends at this lovely bright restaurant. Cheese curds as appetizer were lightly breaded and served hot and although the apple sauce dip was unusual it was tasty combined with the red pepper dip. The menu offered a variety of options and I enjoyed the gnocchi very much. Only negative comments made were the au jus was not well seasoned with the short rib Baguette sandwich and the English muffin was tough with the eggs Benedict. The service was good although some of our party find it awkward to use hand held POS device to enter tip with server standing near. Outdoor dining area looked appealing although we did not sit there because it was very windy. read more

Great spot for Sunday brunch! The service was good and pretty fast for how busy they were. The food was good. I had the chicken and waffles with the gravy on the side. I've never been fond of gravy mixed with syrup. The gravy is however pretty good on its own. The venue has one side that is more or a bar setting and the other side is more restaurant style. First time visiting this restaurant, will be visiting again! Atmosphere: Nice appearance and layout in the restaurant. Friendly staff with management engaged and on the floor. Pay at the table was a nice touch and I didn't feel rushed at the end of our date to leave the waitress let us enjoy our conversation! Drinks: we tried both the Moscow Mule and the Irish Coffee. The Moscow mule was refreshing and the Irish coffee's homemade whipped cream was a nice treat. Food: My wife had the fish and chips. The fries were done just right and still warm. Honestly, the fried fish was one of the best fried fish dishes we've had in a long time. I had the steak and pierogis. The presentation on the dish was perfect and the horseradish dipping sauce was splendid. The steak was cooked to temperature and had a unique but complementing sauce. Each pierogi also had a perfect sear on each size and great flavor. Not our favorite: The coconut shrimp were a great size but lacked flavor. The coconut covering was good but the coconut overpowered the shrimp taste. The dipping sauce was great but could have been doubled in size. read more

Holly buckets! This was such a good find. I was craving brunch (as I always am) and sadly it was closer to 3pm so I knew that I'd be SOL unless I found a place with all-day breakfast. This spot popped up. My boo and I sat in the (uncovered) patio as it was a nice day. They had a good deal on draught beers. It (sadly) started raining so we had to scoot on inside and found ourselves a booth. We started with the crunchy shrimp and I had been craving (CRAVING) crunchy shrimp for weeks! When it came out, I could hardly wait so I popped one in my mouth. Gah I forgot to take off the tail...I don't like the crunch. OMG. So. Much. Salt. I'm one of those people who probably has a heavier salt hand and I couldn't even bring myself to eat another. We had to send it back. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my date boo ordered the lamb burger with sweet potato fries. *Warning* chicken and waffles come with a Cajun gravy smother so it looked like a biscuits and gravy plate. I didn't hate it. In fact, I drizzled some sriracha AND maple syrup and went to town. The chicken was delicious. Waffles could've been sweeter but they worked. The lamb burger was like a gyro but on buns instead of a pita. The best part of that dish was the chipotle aioli that I'm still dreaming about! I can't wait to return here. Came here for brunch on a Saturday and it was such a great experience! Our waitress, Kelly, was so superb and amazing. She's awesome and the reason we'd come back! Stepping in, the atmosphere gives very much Buffalo Wild Wings; lax, noisy and narrow spaces between guests. The food arrived promptly, which is one of the redeeming qualities of the place. The food itself wasn't mind blowing, or even great for that matter. It was adequately satisfying; a meal you don't think about after an hour. The pricing for this place is absolutely insane. Lunch for 2 ended up being about $80, after tipping. A simple chicken sandwich was $18 and one quinoa bowl was the same. To top it all off, they had the audacity to include a built in 4% "Employee Wellness" charge . I've seen online instances of restaurant owners passing staffing expenses on to the customer but this is the first time it happened to me. Hungry? Sure, eat here. Dined here while in town, and stopped in for breakfast. I had a delicious breakfast burrito - my only suggestion would be to make sure the food is brought out immediately when it's ready. A bit loud and too busy for my tastes on the weekends so I'll occasionally order via DoorDash. Always really quality food that tastes great.

The food was different. My sister and I ate here twice because it was close to our hotel. I didn't care too much for the French toast on brioche bread and the gravy they put on it. The second time I got it without the gravy it was much better. Overall who doesn't like French toasts right?!? My sister said hers wasn't too tasty either. The sausage was a bit off putting. I think it was a difference of seasoning that we weren't used to. Lol. The seasoning to keep your blood warm in -12 degrees weather I guess. Our server was great though. She was very understanding. The place stayed pretty busy and it was situated nicely. It has different sections to suite whatever mood you're in. Fireplace w/ family/friends, a little more quiet than bar side w/ family/friends. I don't think this is a place I'll ever go back to when I visit Minnesota but him glad I did get to experience the food and environment. Three Square is a local favorite, especially during patio season. The waitstaff is always friendly and helpful. Many of them have been there for years, which I think says a lot about the culture there. It's comfort food with a twist. Interesting cocktail options and solid beer & wine list. Food is always good. Today I had the California. Chipotle Burger, which was really good....served with tots. They always have something I like on tap. Service is not so good. We have dined as 3 Square about 10 times now, and relegated ourselves to the bar now because of the service. The bartenders are always pretty sharp and attentive to the customer. To the tall skinny hostess with the peace bracelet who seems to work on the weekends: You are terrible at your job. You are first impression people have when they enter and you set the tone for initial dining esxperience. Smile and greet people and like your are glad they chose your establishment to spend their money. When the patrons leave thank them. Had a great brunch date with a friend here. Coffee is always good and the featured avocado toast was on point. My friend had the Evening In Missoula tea which I guess they've had on the menu forever and is amazing. REALLY appreciated our waitress-her name may have been Andrea, but I could be wrong. She was so attentive, but not over-bearing, and she always said "you're welcome" and "can I get you anything else", which just doesn't happen everywhere anymore. My only constructive critique would be the restaurant is a little dark and does look the same as I remember it looking when the place opened 20+yrs ago, BUT the food is fantastic I will continue going no matter what the decor. read more

The aesthetic of the place is cute as well it's upscale looking but not too upscale that it screams fancy. There's some neat decorations as well inside. Overall definitely worth going back. I was initially so impressed with the menu! The options were incredible and there was such a good and wide range of choices! There's truly something for everyone here. My party and I sat outside on their patio. It's a really comfortable area. Our waitress was so incredibly kind. I wish I could remember her name to give her a shout out, but I enjoyed her service. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the food just wasn't as flavorful as it looked. I ordered chicken tacos that looked amazing! Everything at the table did! But the food, was pretty good! This is one of my favorite places to stop and sit on the patio in Maple Grove. They have amazing thick cut sweet potato fries that are served with a spicy aioli that is crave worthy. They constantly switch up their beers and I have been at a few tap takeovers. Fun environment that gets busy early!
