DO NOT EAT HERE. The wax paper was still on my cheese in my turkey club. Manager was not helpful and still made me pay for my side but just took my sandwich off the bill. Would not recommend

This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch or happy hour. The food is always good and consistent. I definitely have my favorites! The service is good and staff is always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is decorated nicely and very clean.

    spicy cranberry mocktail

Came here for a birthday dinner and the food was pretty middle of the game. I got the thai chicken salad and it definitely needed more dressing. It tasted super fresh and the portion size was very generous. I also had a spicy cranberry mocktail and that was probably to highlight of my time. The service was good, the server was very attentive and checked in on our table at the appropriate times. The ambiance was your typical american "grille" vibe with booths, low top tables, and bar seating.

    The drinks were exquisite

This is my type of place. You cannot beat a build your own burger. And with the waiter's recommendation it was perfect.

Great service and great food! Love the build your own burger option. Tried something new this time, the chicken wrap, and it was delicious!

I'm sad to see this restaurant go down hill lately. We came here recently and everything was just a bit off. Now I am giving them some slack because it was dinner on a weekend but still very subpar experience. We tried the "bang bang shrimp" appetizer and I am sad to say it was one of the worst things I have been served in a restaurant in a long time. First of all, visually it did not look like an appetizer; the pile of rice and veggies seemed very out of place. More importantly, and I am not trying to sound dramatic, but it tasted revolting. There was something very unpleasant that I can't put my finger on, either the actual shrimp or the breading. We brought it up to the waiter, he sent the manager over and nothing came of it, not even an apology and she couldn't even tell us what ingredients they use in the breading to figure out the possible cause of the foul flavor. The entrees were much better, although we waited close to an hour for the main course. I am glad I chose to have Alfredo sauce that is usually drizzled on the skewers on the side because that is an odd choice with skewers and it didn't taste good. The Beure Blanc chicken was good and the sauce on that dish is excellent, however the rice that was served with everything we ordered was just ok and the asparagus was flavorless and dry. Maybe we expected too much of this place, idk.. we will be back but to be safe will stick with drinks and waffle fries and basic bar fare.

    Cucumber Basil Gimlet

We met some friends for afternoon drinks but the quality was lacking for me. The decor was an upscale tavern, as was the food. I enjoyed that they had a QR code leading diners immediately to an allergen menu! Unfortunately, while there was a variety of gluten-free options, those options also included soy (severe intolerance) so I stuck to drinks. The cucumber basil gimlet was alright. It tasted heavily of cucumber with a hint of gin but the basil was undetectable. As for the spicy mango marg, it was not good. It was heavy on the jalapeno, light on the Tito's, and mixed with a watered-down wannabe mango mixer. I would recommend sticking to the tap cider selections or wines, my gluten-free foodies.

The only point deduction were the fries! Everything else was amazing. The service, the burgers, the drinks. It's not Kings place but it's good. The garlic aioli wasn't strong, I could barely taste it, but I did have a lot of junk on my burger. The fries got too hard too fast, so I had to pick through them.

Copperwing is a working distillery, and the bar is not embellished to whisk you away from that environment. I like that. Copperwing has a place of its own amongst the thousands of drinking holes in the Twin Cities. You're imbibing in a distillery, but at a bar with a mixology and a bites menu. The cocktail list is interesting, and what I drank was delicious. I also drank shots of some of the different booze Copperwing produced. (It was a lot of liquor. The next two days were rough, and stupidly, we went to another distillery afterwards. I will never learn, and I'm 75 years old.) Liquor is like wine. We all have different tastes and palates. I liked one of Copperwing's vodkas, but not the other. Several of their offerings have won national awards. That's something everyone in Minneapolis can be proud of. Jack was our bartender, and he was gracious and accommodating. I will return to Copperwing Distillery soon, but will drink with more wisdom, sticking to one kind of booze and will drink lots of water.

I've eaten here once before for a special event year prior and the food options were better in my opinion. The small plates got even smaller and more expensive. Not sure if the quality was better on things either. I was with 3 others and we all shared plates. chicken karaage was alright. I liked the crispiness was the sauce was nothing extravagant. Truffle Edamame - best thing I had! The only thing craveworthy that I had. Shrimp taco - smelled fishy but tasted better. I was able to split it into 2 since the shells are so small and the filling worked well in the 2 provided. Crispy rice with spicy tuna - this was fun to do but not as good as we were hoping. It was missing something. Shishito peppers- these were large and many had the seeds. Spicier due to this. Wagyu sushi tacos $24 for the tiny things and it looked like ground wagyu... felt like a cash grab. I didn't eat them but my crew ate 2 and didn't want to eat the last one. Chicken fried rice - good size and really gingery. Not my favorite but it was edible. Better value than other items. The sushi felt like Crave and they were teeny tiny. I didn't enjoy the fishiness so I was one and done. (I normally love seafood) Dessert- we split 2.. the churros and the tres leches. The churros needed some sweetness in the mixture as they were bland. I was hoping for a really good churro and these were just ok. The tres leches wasn't traditional and they should change the name to avoid confusion. They have a better happy hour if you sit at the bar. Our server was able to order us some fries. Despite not being in the bar area. Overall, I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here. The drinks and happy hour, maybe. The cocktail menu was very nice and I tried a few of my friends drinks.

We made a reservation on both occasions but didn't have to make it too much in advance so it's always worth checking on. Service is always spectacular with a huge attention to detail and really customized spiels about the menu. The things I've recently tried for drinks have included the spritz del ambratta, the fiore, and a sparkling red from their wine selection. I find myself going back to the Fiore and would recommend that most although their wine is a solid selection as well. In my opinion, the best starter combination is the focaccia plus the lemony beans. The focaccia is solid and it's so good to dip in the mixture that the beans are doused in. The Caesar was decent as well but you can't miss with that other combo. Then, of course, the mains. If you love creamy pasta, do yourself a favor and get the cavatelli. One of my favorite dishes I've had there; I kept almost comparing it to an adult Mac and cheese. Great for sharing if creamy pastas are a bit too rich for your liking. The lasagna is always a close second and you can't go wrong with it. My friend adored the pickle pizza and I thought it was solid too although I would still probably get the cavatelli or lasagna if you are between that and the pizza. Another great shareable. The saffron spaghetti was decent with some really good bite from the noodles and the taste of saffron really coming through, but I would probably get those other dishes before I would order that. On the first occasion, I was there we were celebrating two of my friends' 30th birthdays and H&S did such a good job of celebrating and making them feel special plus they brought out French silk pie cannolis for us plus glasses of sparkling wine, so I would highly recommend this place as a celebratory dinner. Feeling spunky today, I opted for the Bloody Mary because I was curious if 17.00 was a worthy price for this drink. I'll say there is a LOT of accoutrements in that glass. cheese, shrimp, olives, pickle, and salami(?) if I recall. It was a lot, which was nice, but the star of the show should be the Bloody Mary mix. Here, I felt it fell short, but that is just me. Onto the food - I probably should have stopped at the Bloody Mary, but I was not to be deterred. I ordered the Wagyu Mushroom Burger, and my dining partner ordered the half BLT with a cup of French Onion Soup. The burger was really disappointing. I will say the burger was perfectly made and cooked, but the sauteed mushrooms completely took over the flavor of the burger. Paying a premium price for some ground beef, it should be front and center. I won't order that again. The BLT was wonderful, and everything you'd expect. thick bacon with the right amount of lettuce and tomato, with avocado to add a creamy overtone. The French Onion soup was the best thing we were served. I would come back here again just for that.
