I stopped by 3 Steves Winery after finishing a business trip in San Francisco, right before heading back to LA. I was craving a little nature and just wanted somewhere quiet where I could sit, relax, and slow down for a bit. ChatGPT recommended this place, and I'm so glad I came! As soon as we arrived, a lovely server named Tracy welcomed us so warmly. She helped us choose a wine, explained everything, and even told us the story behind the name "3 Steves." Apparently, the winery really was started by three guys named Steve! It was a hot day, so we ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and found a spot overlooking the hills. Sitting there with a gentle breeze, sipping cold sparkling wine and looking out at the peaceful scenery was exactly what I needed. It reminded me how precious it is to step away from busy city life once in a while and simply sit, breathe, and enjoy the moment. Another thing I loved is that they allow you to bring in outside food. We picked up some Thai food nearby and enjoyed it with our wine while taking in the view. Such a simple, peaceful, and memorable stop before heading back to LA. Great wine, beautiful surroundings, and especially warm hospitality from Tracy. I left feeling completely refreshed. read more

Wine was good, but the experience was inconsistent and not worth the $25 tasting. We are not members but were looking for a new family-friendly winery. We had a reservation for five (including a toddler) but were seated at a table for four even though larger tables were available. We were served by three different staff members, and service varied. Some were helpful, others poured and left with no interaction. We like learning about the wine. We got 2/5 explanations. My husband asked a question regarding the 3 cabs pour but the server answered it while walking away. Pours were also inconsistent compared to other tables, and we noticed differences in how guests with children were treated. At the end, one server's only interaction with us was to scold our well behaved child. Overall, good wine, but uneven service and value. read more

Amazing! Tasty! Amazing! Last weekend I went to Napa and had a blah experience. Today I decided to come to the Livermore area and am so glad I did. I found 3 Steve's Winery and I was so delicious. Three Steve's winery for a wine tasting was a great decision for a relaxing day. We went on a weekday and it was empty. We liked how this winery was open on week day, while most wineries are open only on weekends or selected days. There is plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The indoor space also had a giant screen to watch TV (this time FIFA was on). The wines were delightful and the service was friendly and welcoming. Dogs are also allowed here. Next door is also another winery, so if you wanted to go to two wineries in a day, you can walk right over. We definitely will come back! read more

This is going to be a biased review because we joined as members. I will try to review this as if I were NOT a member. There is parking in front and on event days, you can park along side the building. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. We prefer sitting outside if we bring our pup to have a wine flight and look out into the hillside. Yes, it's dog friendly, but make sure you We usually try the wine flight - it starts from white to reds. Staff is friendly and there is food available for purchase (i.e., charcuterie). If you bring your own, that's even better. On most weekends, there is a local food truck where you can purchase. If you join as a member, they have themed quarterly release parties. You will get to sample the releases and have some light bites, or a food vendor may be selling food on site. Hubby and I visited for the first time yesterday (MLK) around 1:30pm. We brought our dog with us and some snacks to nibble on. Definitely appreciated that we could bring our own outside food! Both of us wanted to do wine tasting ($25pp). When we were checking in, they told us that they were short-staffed so we'd need to go back inside for each pour. This was ok for us as the outdoor area wasn't too far away. I believe she said that the outdoor bar is usually open on regular weekends. We enjoyed the back seating area as it had a great view. The weather was sunny but a little chilly so we wished they had some heat lamps. There were only a couple groups of people when we arrived but got pretty busy as we were leaving. Man oh man! Some of the best Sangria I've had! Came in on a sweltering day, and Jason was kind enough to seat us promptly and let us sample a new sparkling wine of theirs. It was excellent, but what really sold it for me was the sangria. We tried both the white and the red, and they were amazing. Usually I find white sangria to be a little watery and weak, but this was a amazing!! For the first time in forever, I couldn't decide whixh sangria was better. Settled on the red and honestly in this case no bad choices. It was delicious, excellently spiced, and not too pricey, especially if one ordered the carafe! Cant wait to come back! read more

Staff was friendly and we met one of the Steve's who was making his way around and greeting everyone which was nice. An assortment of 5 wines, their featured flight of whites and reds, and their all white flight, tastings are $25 per person. I tasted the all white wine flight and the Brut Rosé Sparkling was divine, as well as the rosé of Cab, and the Pinot Blanc was not my favorite. I haven't been in a while and the usual servers plus one of the Steve's son wasn't serving. The lady (Tracey) was courteous but busy and handled the multiple customers like a pro. Their "2022" Small Lot oak barrel Chardonnay was good, buttery, and smooth, another fav. The side by side of their ancient "2020" and the "2022" Zin was fabulous. Stopped by this place late on a Wednesday afternoon and it was very quiet. I was the only one there and towards the end of the tasting, 2 more people showed up. The tastings are indoors and there is plenty of parking. I decided to sit in the large barn area where they also seem to have events. They have a choice between a red or white tasting and it's $25/person. I opted for the white flight which starts with a sparkling and it was splendid! There were five pours in the tasting and I loved all of them but not as much as the sparkling.The server was very friendly and attentive. They also have a selection of cheeses and meats for purchase. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Only 1 Steve now lives on the property. The 3 stars are for 2 reasons - no wifi and the owners. The Steve walked by when I was in the barn and I was the only one in there, he threw a hello at me and just kept walking, I would have expected a short conversation. The wife also happened to walk by and didn't even acknowledge me, she had a dog with her and as the dog came over to say hi, she called him off. I did not care for that at all. My husband and I came here for a private event after closing hours. It was pretty hot this day and saw they offered sangria. I love sangria. Not something I usually see at wineries but it was the perfect option for the warm evening and happy to see it on their menu. $10/glass or $40 carafe = 5 glasses. We chose the carafe and it was delicious. Sangria was on tap, with a dehydrated orange slice. I do wish it would've came with the fresh fruit bits - my personal preference. The guy also said we could come back up and get more ice if needed. It was spacious inside where the event was held. They allow outside food and had a visiting food vendor as well for the evening. We came here around 1:30pm on Juneteenth. It wasn't as busy as Darcie Kent, but it's a nice winery. It was peaceful. Tasting was $25 for a white or mixed flight. You need to buy 2 bottles to waive 1 tasting. We waived one tasting fee only since we had 2 tastings and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Their Sauvignon Blanc was really good. Not acidic at all. Very fruity and bold. Most of the wines were bold, smooth, fragrant, and delicious. You can either get your flight all poured in a carafe container or walk back to the tasting bar for each pour. They didn't pour much in the carafes. I think it's better to walk up to the bar for each pour. They have a wine tasting room inside and then later, they moved to the outside bar area to help customers. They also sell prepackaged charcuterie meats and crackers. They allow outside food and is dog friendly. As we got closer, weather was forecasting rain so we called to see what our options were (tents, canopy, etc) since we know kids aren't allowed inside. Gal we spoke with on the phone condescendingly asks if we have a babysitter to imply we shouldn't bring our kids to this celebration. Great view of the rolling hills from the outdoor patio. $20 for their tasting + they charged tax so it was $22. A little more expensive than some of the other wineries. We were greeted warmly by one of the Steves when we arrived. The ambience was nice at this location. I know alot of people that recommend this winery. For me, the ambience was great, the wines weren't my favorite but everyone has different tastes. I would still recommend for people to check it out to decide for your pallette. Met my girlfriends here on a Sunday in Nov2021. Look out for 3 Steves Winery sign as you get near, my GPS wanted me to go through another winery. One of my friends actually did and had to go back out. No reservations needed! Dog friendly! PARKING: Available lot right outside the wine tasting area SUNDAY: Fresh pizza made on location in a transportable pizza oven. $12/13 dollars and the crust was so soft! EXPERIENCE: We each did a wine tasting ($18) and it was waived with one bottle of wine purchase (~$30-50). It was seat yourself open environment situation. They have a covered outdoor area but you would have to go back in for your next pour. Great if you just want to enjoy a bottle or two. We opt to sit inside the barrel room since we would've been outdoor in the next location. It was really cozy! Dimly lit with string of lights. Several tables to choose from and a bar inside. This winery is good. We came here during the Wine n Wags event and tasted the few sample pouring that were included in the event. Of the pourings, their sparklingly wines was the one we went home with. It was delicious and could be easily appealed to just about anyone's palate. Not too dry, nor too sweet.
