I was fortunate enough to visit this winery on a nice hot summer day. My sister and I were bummed the weather was too hot to be outside, but the inside of the barrel room was cool and a nice change of pace. We had a pleasant time during the tasting. I'd say the tasting is a very reasonable price for the amount of wine the team presents. We started off with an extra bubbly before the tasting actually started. Our sommelier was knowledgeable and so funny. During our stay we nibbled on a tray of veggies with hummus as well as the hot honey flatbread. Pretty lively and popular wine tasting venue. Strolled in (without reservations) before noon on a weekend and had no issues being seated. Even though they have an indoor space, it seemed they really wanted all the tastings to be done outdoors at tables with a wine ambassador/server. The outdoor patio is very pretty, skillfully landscaped in that winery fashion, lots of tables and a wooden structure with fans for some cover and circulation. But that cover is just a screen so it isn't complete shade, slivers of sunlight still beam through. Which can be a nuisance if that beam is in one person's face at the table. For this valley (Livermore) if a winery is going to conduct wine tastings outdoors, I think a full cover should be standard. It isn't yet but in time I think it will. A tasting is $25 with about 5 samples. They'll throw in a bonus 1-2 pours if you want to revisit a taste. They'll waive this fee if you purchase 2 bottles or more. They even have a small menu that you can order food that isn't just snacks like nuts and crackers. You can actually have a significant meal here, albeit a very small menu. We were going to have lunch elsewhere, so we didn't get too involved with the food. But we did order a warm baguette with 3 dips for $15 (4.5*) as tasting wines without food sometimes gets puckering and acidic. $15 seemed a bit much for some bread, but it was a well-made and well thought out platter. First the mini whole baguette was served very warm and fresh. To me personally a crusty bread that is warm is as soothing as slipping into your favorite old but comfy sweater. Who ever is supplying them with this bread is a legit bakery. I wouldn't even doubt if it was an Acme or a Semifreddi product. The 3 spreads given are actually way too much for the bread given. But they are all very conducive to the warm bread and sips of wine. 1 is a super soft butter. Not sure if anything else went in but it seems softer than straight butter. There's also a balsamic dip that is well emulsified with a nice garlic touch. Very tasty. And then there's a nice well made pesto that is loose from olive oil and a tinge of lemon in the background. And I found you can mix and match these spreads anyway you want to get a layered flavor effect. This totally elevated our wine tasting. The wines here I felt were above average. Several not so popular varietals like a Cabernet Franc or a Grenache Rosé made for an interesting ride. I found their sparkling wine to be very refreshing and one of their red blends to be solid enough to take home and pair it with a nice meal someday. I think their blending/winemaking skills suit my palate. Our server/pourer was very nice and efficient. I saw the employees taking turns on tables as they came. But I also saw a table already request a certain server so there are regulars that have made relations here. I'm all for that. One of my new faves to wine taste out here in Livermore. There's wine tasting in the tasting room, wine flight is $25, and there's fire pit Fridays from 6-9pm with live music. They have a small menu but the food is delicious and offer large portions. I had the Grilled Gruyere, Prosciutto, Plum & Sour Cherry Jam Sandwich for $18. It was so good with plenty of chunks of prosciutto and Gruyère cheese. My friend had the Chicory and Asian Pear Salad for $18. Large portion offered, which can be shared. She enjoyed the salad. Hubby and I visited for the first time yesterday (MLK) around 3:30pm and fell in love with this place! There's a beautiful outdoor area in the back with lots of tables and fire pits. They also have a grassy lawn area for wedding ceremonies and other events. On Fridays, they have live music on the stage. Since they have a food menu, no outside food or drinks is allowed. Wine tasting is $25pp but we opted to share a bottle between us instead. Our waiter, Donna, was a sweetheart and we loved chatting and joking with her. The service and wine here were alright. We went in on a Friday in a group of 4 girls and 4 kiddos. They had a busy night with mine music which we understood but the staff here had no idea what they were doing. They seemed so flustered with a big crowd and definitely weren't trained on how to proceed. All the tables were packed except one which was apparently reserved but no one came to sit on there. We were just waiting on the lawn area for something to open. We asked the girl in the front checking people in if we need to get on a waitlist. She had no idea what she was doing. She said I don't know. We stood in the lawn for half hour. No one came to check on us and finally a server named Celeste came up to us and helped us with a table. The service and structure is very poor. The wine was alright. The food was really good. I would definitely check to see if they have availability before going here if you don't have a lot of time to spare. read more

We came here for our anniversary and called beforehand before walking in. When we arrived, Bryan explained that the wine flight would be a great starter, which we appreciated. Roger took care of us, and his customer service was brilliant. Since it was our first time, he took the time to explain each wine, and even cheered with us for our anniversary on the first one Truly top-notch service. We also received a complimentary wine glass, which was such a nice touch. We noticed Bryan helping the table next to us as well, and he also provided excellent customer service. The entire place was very pretty, clean, and organized. They had an outdoor fire pit and kindly turned it on for me since I was cold--it definitely helped keep me warm along with the wine! The dip and crackers were so good--I especially loved the creamy cheese dip. I came here with my husband and three-year-old for an early Mother's Day on that Saturday. We had the BEST experience. Our server was so friendly, especially to my daughter. We sat outside so she got to walk around (it wasn't crowded at all) while my husband and I tasted wines and shared food. The wines are great, and the hot honey flatbread is delicious. I'm giving two stars solely because our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. We visited on a Sunday around noon and sat on the patio with our three young boys and our leashed puppy. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only one other table occupied. From the moment we ordered, however, the manager made it clear that families were not particularly welcome. At one point, we were tossing a soft ball with our son on the adjacent grass. If that violates the restaurant's policy, that's completely within their right to address. The issue wasn't the rule, it was the way it was handled. Rather than approaching us politely, the manager loudly announced, "No flying objects of any kind!" in a manner that felt unnecessarily confrontational and directed at our children. There is a significant difference between enforcing a policy and making paying customers feel unwelcome. A simple, friendly request would have accomplished the same thing. Instead, the interaction left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. The food was fine, though nothing memorable, $18 for a turkey sandwich felt overpriced for what was served. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and management overshadowed the entire experience. If you're looking for a family-friendly place where parents and children are treated with kindness and respect, I would look elsewhere. We won't be returning, and I won't be recommending it to other families with young children. read more

Of the two wineries visited my group enjoyed the flavor of Del Valle (we purchased about 4 of the welcome pour" Now, one star was taken away for two reasons. 1. Communication could have been better. I submitted an inquiry via their website and didn't receive a response for about a week and a half. Luckily I am persistent and also called and left a voicemail. This is how I got in touch with the wonderful Celeste. 2. Wine was spilled on about 4 or 5 of my guest during pour the Res tastings. Fortunately for us, they carry a spray called Wine Out - and it worked. All and all, I will go back. read more

There was no one around and they don't have a white flight but they were flexible with me and poured all whites. There is seating inside as well outside, shaded and in the open. After visiting this establishment several times I've come to the decision of not returning due to the poor hospitality. The team has a very cold approach almost felt unwelcome. I cancelled my membership and will not return. The associates are robotic and have no interested in conversation with the exception of the limited duties of pouring wine and memorizing the scripts. Any questions asked the response is very cold and one is made felt like "how dare you ask questions". I was a big fan of the previous owners CROOKED VINE and thought it would get better after a few visits but this is not the case here. I wish them well and hope this review will shed some light on some missed opportunities. Location and esthetics are nice but the poor service takes away from ambiance. read more

Chose this place because they had a nice outdoor seating area, was dog-friendly, and served a local cheese plate from a local shop called The Cheese Parlor. We partook in their $20 wine tasting which included five wine samplings. I liked how their menu included food pairing recommendations as well. The Del Valle Sparkling ended up being the favorite. Service could have been better. We asked for water twice and they even offered water for our dog but didn't follow through. This winery had cute outdoor seating in the back but not much more to look at like vineyards and stuff. But the outdoor is shaded with nice seating. Their $20 tasting included 5 wines: 1 white, 1 pink, 3 reds. I let our server know that I preferred whites and if I could just alternate between the white & pink in the tasting. She was so willing to accommodate me and serve me those in addition to other whites not on their tasting menu. She did try to push a red at the end to taste in hopes that I would like it, which I accepted, but didn't know that would actually count towards the 5 tastings, so that was a bit disappointing. I called ahead of time to ask if we could bring outside food and they said yes but also mentioned the cheese plate. We chose their cheese plate from the Cheese Parlor! It was good for 2 people to share and was not disappointed! I recommend you get it. The ambiance was nice and relaxing for a Saturday afternoon. They're dog friendly. I saw someone bring a tote of outside food. Upon leaving, they were setting up for a nice event under the arch out front. This is a really lovely place to go wine tasting, and I have liked almost every, if not every wine I have tried! My favorite is definitely their sparkling, which is less bubbly than most and therefore easier drinking. The setting outdoors is lovely, with plenty of shaded options, and there is an indoor area with good AC. I took away one star because I have had both amazing service and very slow service here. Customer service is a negative zero! The lady I encountered name was Robin and she was extremely rude! Based on my encounter with her I will never return! I walked in and told the 2 young men in the front I wanted to do a tasting and they told me no problem and directed me to the outside area. I sat a table and was approached by Robin and it was not a nice inviting welcome and was told I could not do a tasting because it was 4:25 and a tasting takes 1 1/2 hours and they close at 5pm. I do ALOT of wine tasting in different cities and I never spend that long in a winery but I don't mind, so told her she might want to inform the people in the front that tasting is over because they are sending customers out to taste and she said well those boys in the front are teenagers so they don't don't know what they are talking about! I feel you shouldn't employ teens at a winery if they don't know what time tasting is over. but she set a paper down on the table and told me to figure out what I wanted to do and I figured since her attitude was so nasty I would leave and go to WOOD FAMILY! I will never return based on her nasty unwelcoming attitude! read more

Came here recently with the intent of buying my boyfriend's mother a bottle of red wine as a gift, but threw in a little tasting for the experience! My boyfriend and I came on a Friday afternoon. Visiting wineries is one of my favorite past times, and both of us had never been to any in the Livermore area (which, surprisingly is much closer to us than the usual Napa trip). I chose Del Valle because it was close, new, and had good ratings here on Yelp (and from the pictures it looked exactly like a place I would enjoy). Since it was about 3pm on a Friday, the place was fairly empty and we were welcomed by staff and took a seat in the patio area in the back. The setting was lowkey, comfortable, and well-spaced out. We sat at one of the tables with a fire pit, so it was warm while we drank and dined. The venue itself was so beautiful, and our trip to buy a bottle of wine turned into a really nice, relaxed, and romantic date. Staff immediately brought out the first drink of the tasting and we were able to order one of the charcuterie packs to accompany the wine. Now for the items and their ratings: THE TASTING (10/10) Excellent service and I love how each glass came out in rounds. Most of my experiences with wine tasting involved all wines served together in a flight style. This was a good change for me because it toned the pace down for our date and gave more room to indulge in the moment. The tasting includes 5 glasses for a whole $20 per person -- this was such a great deal! Usually I'm paying around $40-80 when I go up to Napa/Sonoma so I really appreciated the quality and the price here. - Sparkling Rose (10/10) The first glass in the tasting was immediately my favorite. I LOVE sparkling wines, and knew that I was biased towards this glass immediately. The drink was sweet and slightly tart, which I enjoyed because it wasn't on the overwhelming end of sparkling wine flavors and was a smooth lead into the tasting. This drink is the type I'd have on the weekend -- it's energetic but still tame and not too formal (definitely something for a Saturday afternoon). - 2019 Merlot (9/10) The second glass was my second favorite! I'm pretty picky with my reds, especially because I grew up seeing my dad buy all sorts of them and eventually trying them out. This Merlot was smooth in texture and had a sweet taste (kind of reminding me of chocolate) that sat great with my taste buds. This is the kind of drink I would enjoy after a long day of work! - 2018 Syrah (7/10) The third glass was my least favorite, but it wasn't bad! It just wasn't what I favored when it came to wines. I typically love my spices, but this wine had a peppery touch to it that made me realize I wasn't too fond of that taste in my wines. I think if I were to pick an ideal situation for this drink, it would definitely be best for a family dinner that includes steak. - 2017 Rosso Delight (8/10) This fourth round of tasting was a lovely surprise -- a total mixture of reds that tasted pretty refreshing compared to the other glasses we had prior. This is the kind of drink I'd take out for girls' night. I think people who are more adventurous about their wine preferences would enjoy this one! - 2018 Petit Sirah (8.5/10) The last round of the tasting ended with a smooth Sirah that (in my opinion) was SUPER RICH in flavor -- it tasted what I would call "mature." It's definitely the type of drink I would pull out for an important meeting. THE CHARCUTERIE: Chevre (9.5/10) I saw goat cheese on the selection and told my boyfriend we should get the Chevre option! Goat cheese is one of my favorites especially when I drink wine, so I was already biased in my choice over charcuterie options. This box was provided by The Cheese Parlor (another business) and was excellently assorted. I love how the goat cheese was locally made and how it was topped with honeycomb. The box size was perfect for both my boyfriend and I (so definitely good for a pair of people)! Outside of the goat cheese I enjoyed the pepper the most, while my boyfriend really liked the olives and pistachios. This was really good considering that a box was $25 only! I have to say that Del Valle left an amazing first impression on me. There was a point where a random bug flew into my glass (one of the rare downfalls of being outdoors), and the staff helping us immediately gave me a new one! I ended up buying my boyfriend's mom a charcuterie box of her own and the Petit Sirah (which ended up being one of her favorite wines -- I didn't even know). I also bought myself a bottle of the Sparkling Rose, just because at the time there was a deal where if you buy 2 bottles of wine, it can offset one of the tastings! The vineyards are all along the rear, so you don't feel or see it. Near the front of the property, a lovely room for tasting with both a front patio and rear "backyard" for sipping and relaxing. Along the one side, parking. They also have a wonderful barn-like room with barrels -- ideal for a small wedding. The gf, pooch, I sat on the front patio, ordered a couple of glasses of vino, and were instantly relaxed. Service is very nice. Skews towards an older crowd. Note #1: glasses are $12-16, and bottles are $32-40 with discounts to members ($25-32). I didn't know that there were so many wineries in Livermore and Pleasanton until my buddy got married at one a few weeks back. Decided to check out Del Valle based on its great Yelp reviews (and check-in/review offer of a free tasting!) The staff was very kind and attentive, and the space was quite lovely for a weekend date spot with Amy T. They were setup for a wedding in the back on the day that we visited but even still had shaded seating in the front area. We were able to try 5 tastings for $20, waived after a purchase of two bottles. All of the wines were solid, and my favorite was the 2018 Luna Del Valle which was a red blend of Cab Sauv, Sangiovese, Merlot, and Touriga - really smooth and quite drinkable. So much so, that we took home a bottle of this one. Although I'm not much of a Syrah fan, their Syrah was also enjoyable with a more muted spice taste to me, which is good b/c I don't really like my wine to be that spicy. Overall a really nice experience, and would definitely be down to go again! First stumbled upon this venue as my fiancée and I were exploring some Livermore wineries. Very unassuming from the outside, but once you walk into the patio, you realize how spacious and cozy it really is. The wines are delicious and the food from the kitchen is made to compliment it perfectly. They also have events on Fridays, bringing in musicians to play music while everyone enjoys the food and wine. The ambiance has always been so pleasant and fun. We enjoyed the space so much that we inquired about the possibilty of getting married here. Kelli, the Events Director was so nice and helpful in answering all our questions that we felt comfortable that we could work well with her and her team. We signed the contract and a year later, had the most wonderful and memorable wedding we could have asked for. Kelly and her team were so helpful and organized that we didn't have to worry about anything. We recently came here for a friends proposal, which turned out very cute to be honest. Driving up we didn't know that we're were many wineries to enjoy in Livermore. Keep a close eye when driving into this place, it could be easily missed if you are driving too fast. There is plenty of parking once you get into the parking. The place is very cute and spacious. Plenty of seating for you and your party. Our friend ordered the rose, Syrah, and sangoviese (sorry i know I spelled it wrong) lol. The wines were all good we wanted to take some to go!
