I went with my boyfriend to 30hop and it was so awesome seeing their giant selection of craft beer. I got several tasters of different delicious beers before settling on getting a full pour of Mind Haze (IPA). The atmosphere was calm and delightful. Inside 30hop they have a beautiful upstairs patio with bar and all kinds of seating available, as well as having extensive downstairs seating arrangement (booths, tables, or bar seating). We sat in a booth downstairs and ordered food. Our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about both their beer and food menus. I ordered the Cali Chicken Burger with no sauce or anything and on a gluten-free bun and a Berry side salad with dressing on the side. It didn't take long before we got our drinks and food. The inside is energetic and gives off fun vibes. There were so many things on the menu that looked good it was hard to decide. I ended up going with the Umami burger and got the chorizo corn side. Our entrees came out sooner than expected and completely lived up to the hype. I ordered the veggie mac and added chicken, but I think next time I'd ask for double veggies instead. I couldn't get enough! It didn't look like a huge portion at first, but it was almost more than 2 meals for me. So tasty even reheated. My fiancé ordered the Korean bbq steak sandwich with fries and cleared his plate! No surprise there, but he said he was impressed. We had a wonderful server. I wish I could remember his name, but he is studying architecture (so that should narrow it down). The beer with few exceptions was all Iowa made. I had a local hazy IPA that was delicious! The truffle fries we all shared were very good! I had a Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and they left off sauce and extra spice to make it less hot. It was delicious. There was a kids menu and both boys were satisfied with their choices. My son loved his umami burger. Nice alternative to the big chain eateries in this industrial part of Cedar Rapids. Loved the salads. Mixed drinks quite refreshing. Wine? Not so great. Made it here based on a recommendation from the hotel I was staying at ( within walking distance but no sidewalks) as well as some folks in the area I was working with. The devour is quite nice and it has a outside deck which is really nice although u look out at a large water tower which is right next to the deck. Plenty of beers and numerous "local micro. Brews" Happy hour is 3-6p. Which I missed. The food was very good I had a yakosobi (sp) bowl which was very tasty along with a local IPA. My meal was the strawberry, goat cheese salad with the tuna. I asked our waitress how the tuna was prepared she had no idea and made no offer to find out. They must have some type of Asian connection here because they put together some combinations that were definitely Asian inspired. We were worried that this 30 hop wouldn't measure up to the one in Coralville but I'd say it passes out by a mile. My tenderloin was huge but thick and juicy. Best tenderloin I've had ever. I've had them all over town and this one is the best by far. Truffle fries were big enough for 4 of us. My wife had the Salmon which was cooked perfectly. Amazing combination of flavors. It blew us away. Cocktails were really good. 2 old fashioneds, 1 Manhattan, and a 30 house tropic. Old fashioned was perfect, Manhattan was disappointing. We could barely taste the whiskey. My tropic was great. This food is easily on Par or passes Black sheep in some ways. But for half the price. The soup was lackluster not one to order again. Excellent, but personally would have like a little more wasabi. I Went with my mother and sister their food, corn chowder and a chicken club were good too. The side salad my sister had was large and so fresh. My mother's carrot cake was not to be believed. It could have easily fed 4. Our waiter, James, was a total delight. So helpful and friendly. He joked with us the whole time and when we were joking with my mother, he told her hed adopt her. When the check came he had written her a note that if she needed anything to call him with his phone number. He made an 87 year old woman's day.
