The egg roll is massive and has crab and shrimp inside!

They are KILLING the game! If you like seafood, you'll be in love! The crab cake and egg roll is delicious and OH so filiing. It's all seafood. Nothing else. They're a food truck parked on Central Ave and their days are limited so check their schedule. My only complaint is the limited parking but that's because everybody has heard about them! Thank me later

Let me introduce you to 33rd & Main, a food truck that's been repeatedly recommended to me for its incredible seafood egg rolls and crab cakes. Usually parked at 2121 Central Ave, this spot is run by Ish, who hails from Southeast Washington, D.C. While he may not be a true Marylander, his proximity and skill make him more than trustworthy when it comes to crafting the perfect crab cake. The menu boasts choices like the Seafood Egg Roll, Crab Cake, Crab Cake Burger, Bang Bang Shrimp, and a special that rotates--when I went, it was the Loaded Crab Bisque. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the prices might make you do a double-take, but you're paying for top-tier quality and massive portions. And let's face it, real lump crab meat doesn't come cheap. The Crab Cake features jumbo lump crab, expertly held together with just a hint of sauce and egg as a binder. When they say "no filler," they mean it. I've had my fair share of crab cakes in Maryland, and this one might just take the crown. If you want a dish that could feed a small army, this is it. (See photo for size reference.) I couldn't resist the special, the 16oz Loaded Crab Bisque. The bisque was rich, creamy, and packed with lump crab in every spoonful. It even gives my favorite crab soup spot in Charlotte a serious run for its money. The Seafood Egg Roll is a sleeper hit. It's the size of a 20-ounce brick--seriously, it's that big! Hand-rolled fresh daily, you won't find any frozen egg rolls on this truck. It's rolled and fried to crispy perfection and filled with chunks of shrimp, lump crab, and mozzarella cheese, all seasoned with a house-made Old Bay blend. This is one to share. I wouldn't be surprised if you could split it between family members! (See photo for size reference.) The Bang Bang Shrimp is another must-try. Lightly battered and fried to crispy perfection, these shrimp are plump, juicy, and coated in a house-made bang bang sauce that's got just the right amount of spicy kick and a hint of sweetness to balance it out. If you're a fan of Bonefish Grill's version, you're going to love this. And if you have any room left after all that seafood goodness, cool off with a Philly Water Ice for dessert. The flavors rotate, so there's always something new to try. Heads up: everything is made fresh to order, so expect about a 20-minute wait--but trust me, it's worth it.

I wanted to love this spot. The photos on instagram looked amaaazing, but after trying it, I was kind of underwhelmed. My husband and I split a seafood burger ($30) and a seafood eggroll ($25). I LOVE crab cakes and I'm very particular so I was excited to give this place a shot. Plus, my husband is from the DMV so we eat a lot of well seasoned crab meat. Waited about 30 mins... okay, no biggie. This is not completely unexpected for a food truck on a Friday night. Prices were high but I wasn't surprised because I knew this before I ordered. Also, the seafood burger is a pound of seafood so a $30 seafood burger is understandable. The price of crab is high generally. The seafood burger was huge and meaty but bland. It needed something though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Maybe some old bay? Some salt? Mustard? Parsley? Something! It was also super soggy and hard to eat as a handheld item. It needed a different type of bun that could hold up to the meat, but it basically disintegrated from the oil and heat. The presentation was nothing like pics I saw on instagram. The seafood eggroll was okay. Again, HUGE, and about the size of a burrito, but it was super greasy and had the same flavor as the seafood burger. I think the only difference was that the eggroll had mozzerella in it. Not pressed to go back, though the staff was super personable.

This food truck is serving great food! My friend and I both ordered the Seafood burger loaded with shrimp, lump crab meat, lettuce and tomato with special sauce. The burger is huge but it did fall apart some. I would still highly recommend the sandwich. There was a really long wait but the food was worth it.

Yes the portions are enormous but not very flavorful and the cost is outrageous, for food truck food

The Seafood Egg Roll is colossal. They have absolutely no filler. It's crab meat and chopped shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised that it also came with a light seasoning. It's not overly fried hard, either. I loved that the seasoning wasn't overly powerful. It's made fresh to order. I would say it's worth the time in line, but it's an experience. Timeliness and good customer service were meh...

I had to try everything! The seafood egg roll was stuffed, and so large I couldn't finish it. The crab cake had large pieces of crab mean, and the shrimp had amazing flavor and a perfect crunch. I highly recommend them. I'll definitely be going back!

I visited on a Thursday after work. There were not any available spots on the street so I had to park in a lot a few blocks away. The line wasn't long, but I had to wait 15 minutes for my order to be taken and another 30 minutes for the food to be ready. Besides the wait, there were no other issues with customer service. The person that took my order was pleasant. I'm a Maryland girl that has been on the search for a great crab cake now that I'm in NC. While the crab cake I had lacked some of the flavor I am used to back home, it is the best crab cake I've had so far down here so far. There was able amount of crab meat and it wasn't full of filler like a lot of other crab cakes I've had in Charlotte. Food is a bit pricey, but they portions are large so that helps some. Overall, a solid place to visit if you don't mind the wait/parking.

Heard good things about this place.. specifically about the plant-based burger. Someone told us that their burger was better than a popular food truck that offers something similar so I had to see if the claim was true. I knew a day ahead that I wanted to order for Friday evening pickup to match another restaurant pickup I was doing at that time. I thought I could schedule the order ahead on Thursday night but got a message that they were closed and the system was offline. I tried again during lunchtime on Friday but had the same issue on the website and through Facebook. When the restaurant opened at 4:00 that afternoon I was finally able to place the order, but there was no option to schedule for a later time which is unfortunate. You can only place an order in real time to be picked up ~25 mins later. I think adding the ability for customers to order in advance would be a win. Since I had a few stops to make on the way, I had to place the order while I was out and about. I timed it pretty nicely though, and as I was leaving my last stop before heading to CityKitch, my phone rang from a local number I didn't recognize. I answered anyway and the caller told me that my order was ready. He asked what time I'd arrive and what I was driving. I pulled up about 6 mins later and he walked my order out before I could make it to the door. Great customer service!! Especially since I know CityKitch has a shelf in the entry where some restaurants leave completed orders for pickup. We ordered the seafood burger and impossible burger. Both were tasty. The seafood burger had plenty of meat which was good, but there was just a little too much mayo in the mixture for my liking. It also had a distinct mustard flavor and I'm not a huge fan of mustard. But all in all very flavorful. The impossible burger was good too. The patty was nice and thick and the texture was just like real beef. It did have a strange aftertaste though - not nasty, just a taste I couldn't quite put my finger on. I don't think this burger compares to the food truck, they are very different from one another. Didn't get great pics but there are some good ones on the website.

Just got here on Sat at 8. They're sold out and told us they are open Wed-Sunday. Follow on instagram but posted hours aren't consistent. We'll try again cause the food looks sooo good.

I brought my concerns to the manager, hoping the issue would be taken seriously. Instead, I felt that excuses were made for the staff member's behavior rather than acknowledging my experience. That response left me with the impression that this type of service is acceptable and that the issue is unlikely to be addressed. That's disappointing because the food and atmosphere are genuinely enjoyable, but good service should be part of the overall experience as well.
