The food is good, and I really enjoy the atmosphere, which is why I've returned. Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. During my most recent visit, I spent nearly an hour watching a staff member greet and check on every table in my section except mine. She made eye contact with me several times but never acknowledged me or asked if I needed anything. Being completely overlooked while everyone around me received attentive service was frustrating and made me feel unwelcome. I brought my concerns to the manager, hoping the issue would be taken seriously. Instead, I felt that excuses were made for the staff member's behavior rather than acknowledging my experience. That response left me with the impression that this type of service is acceptable and that the issue is unlikely to be addressed. That's disappointing because the food and atmosphere are genuinely enjoyable, but good service should be part of the overall experience as well. read more

I like the ambiance of this spot! It's floral, down to earth and there was lots of light. You order at the front and they bring the food. Overall, service is fast, food is good and has healthier options for eating out. While I enjoyed my meal, I feel like it's rather overpriced given the portions as well. I would recommend their chicken kebab bowl. Their fries had this ranch that I loved but the fries itself were oversalted which is a rare problem to come across. A South End staple, and for good reason! Went on Sunday and enjoyed my lunch immensely. I opted for the Entree (chicken) with two sides (mixed roasted vegetables and their feta carrots), and a glass of their sparkling white wine. The service was so kind and helpful, and the girl who took our order was the absolute sweetest. Our food came out quickly, and everything was great. The chicken was juicy and lemony; the vegetables were all PERFECTLY roasted and tossed in a variety of seasonings. The carrots were really standout, with a creamy feta sauce and tons of fresh dill. Love this place. The menu offers great options whether you're in the mood for something healthy or a bit more indulgent. It's such an easy go-to for us that we'll sometimes come here two days in a row on the weekends. The only downside is order consistency. They've missed sides a few times--most notably the sweet potato fries that come with the steak entrée were left out on two DoorDash orders in a row. Dining in, we also had a side of potatoes that never came out with our meal and had to go back and ask for it near the end. They'd easily earn more stars if they could consistently get the orders right. That said, the food is good enough that we keep coming back despite the occasional misses. read more

I visited Flower Child with my friend during the week, I have passed this establishment on the weekends and it looks so busy but during the week I was able to find a table with no issues. It's a fast casual place where you order at the counter then choose a table where they will bring your meal to you. The menu is large with items that catered to a wide array of dietary restrictions. I ordered the shrimp with mac and cheese and broccoli. While it was good, I wasn't impressed. The meal was something I could make at home quite easily. Also the mac and cheese tasted more like buttered noodles than a cheesy dish that I was expecting. My favorite today was the Green Chile Queso with chips. The queso is made of chickpea chorizo, white cheddar and yellow corn chips. It has TONS of flavor. Eating in at this place is great. Getting it to go sucks. The employees here work as slow as ever. I walked in and there were about 8-10 to go items ready on the counter, the girl took her sweet time to put them in bags for them to be ready. Someone asked her if his order was ready and she said "no, what time is your pick up? And it said 6:16" and it was 8 minutes before so she told him to wait 8 more minutes. Then when she does start packaging the ready to go orders that have been sitting up there, this guy's order has been ready for more than 10 minutes and she still made him wait there for nothing. The same thing happened with my order, the food sucked and tasted like it was sitting for at least 15 minutes. Get better employees who care about service and food quality for customers. Also no silverware in the to go bags but they were sealed on the top. read more

Unfortunately had a bad experience here the other night. This review is solely about the poor customer service; all the food we ordered was fantastic. I ordered a pick up order via phone around 7pm on a weekday last week. They said it would be a 30 minute wait, no problem. I arrived to pick up my order at 7:30pm, and was told it wasn't ready. So, I sat inside and waited right by the register. I sat there for another 30 minutes!!! At 8pm I went back to the cashier and asked about any update on my order bc it had been one hour since I ordered! The cashier seemed as though she couldn't have cared less and she watched me sit there right in front of her for 30 minutes with no update. Several new guests, doordashers, walk-ins were all served after I arrived and got their food quickly. Not one employee asked me if I needed help or anything. I just sat there waiting. Only to find out that my food was sitting on a back counter forgotten about the entire time!!! When I asked the girl at the register about my order she begrudgingly looked around for my order and just happened to check the lone order sitting off to the side away from all the other orders. It had obviously been put somewhere it shouldn't have. She didn't apologize or say anything about how long I'd waited. She just looked at me like I had 2 heads. I was so livid I couldn't even say anything at all, I just took my order and left. During my wait I saw several employees standing around talking, laughing, etc. Very disappointing. I couldn't believe the lack of attentiveness or concern by at least 6 people that work here. I spent $70 on my order, only to wait an hour for food and for it to be cold once we got it home. This could have easily been avoided. I honestly don't think I will ever visit Flower Child again. read more
