Super solid spot when you're craving seafood! We came in for dinner on a Tuesday and were seated right away in a booth. Service was friendly and attentive. We got the snow crab legs & shrimp combo (which comes with corn and potatoes) and added on a 1/2 lb of sausage - which I highly recommend! This was the perfect amount of food for the 2 of us. We got our combo with garlic butter, and the puffed up plastic bag came with plenty inside! They provide a plastic bib along with gloves, but since the gloves were so large on me, I was having trouble getting to the meat in the crab legs and shrimp, so I ended up taking them off. This worked better for me during dinner, but I will say even after washing my hands, they did smell like garlic and seafood for a while after. This is a fun, interactive meal and the prices feel aligned with the quality and quantity. I'll be back to shake shake some more seafood soon! read more

Unfortunately We didn't even get the chance to eat here but will not be returning when much better treatment is 2 minutes away. When we walked in, the restaurant was nearly empty....literally only two tables were occupied. We specifically asked the host whether we could still order from the lunch menu since it was getting close to 3:00 p.m., and we were told yes. After being seated and waiting for our drinks, it was 3:18 p.m. When we went to order, our waitress informed us that we could no longer order from the lunch menu because it was after 3:00. If the cutoff was strict, we should have been told that before being seated, especially since we asked about it upfront. Instead, we wasted our time only to be given completely different information by another employee. The lack of communication between the staff was frustrating and unprofessional. We chose to leave rather than order from the regular menu. Hopefully management can improve communication so future guests don't have the same experience. read more

Came on a Sunday afternoon. Place looks clean but the Ladies room had a terrible smell and was not clean. I saw several air freshners in there and it was not helpful! I did inform the hostess. Our server was ok. He tried to balance handling the bar and waiting on some tables but the bar patrons received faster attention. My daughter's order was not correct and it was quickly fixed. Kids ordered peel and eat shrimp - I totally did not understand the menu I guess - I had to pay for an individual 1/2 cob of corn ($1.25) and 1 small boiled potato ($1) for each of them - this was not a kids meal. It's hard to stick out in the over saturated seafood boil market, someone really needs to shake things up :) I decided to treat myself to seafood, and my options were plentiful. I decided on Shake Shake due to it's awesome location next to "Marsh Park" a very nice green way trail area to go to after stuffing your face here. My initial thoughts of the dining space isn't anything special, it's decently large with a very nice spaced out bar in the middle. It's very well lit with lots of booths for couples and groups, the standard table set up is still there of course. It was nice to see the well mapped handicap accessible walk way into the restaurant also. I decided to check out the lunch menu, I picked the calamari lunch basket with fries and hush puppies. I paired that with a fried shrimp and flounder dinner portion. The calamari was excellent and well seasoned, the shrimp were on par with the calamari. The flounder while delicious were a bit heavy on the batter and light on the actual protein. Outstanding bake on the entire basket, including the cajun fries (not spicy just right amount of seasoning). The hush puppies tasted a bit flat, they needed a note of sweetness or garlic...but more than just hot corn meal. While I can't speak for the crab boil portion of the menu, I can say Shake Shake does most things right for 10.00 fried calamari or shrimp basket's with an ample amount of fries and a couple hush puppies included...you'll feel like you had a decent lunch break. My server/bartender worked dual shifts and she did it flawlessly. I wasn't able to capture her name but amazing job! I'll be back partly because the customer service was also 5 stars. Pro Tip: Items such as crabs are market price, and this is a volatile market currently. Avoid the sticker shock, dont be afraid to call in and see what the rates are for the fresh seafood items before you arrive. read more

This used to be my favorite seafood boil restaurant, well the independence location. Today that changed. I ordered a pound of shrimp. Almost half of them weren't clean. When I informed the manager he shrugged his shoulders and said "we'll we order them deveined". I couldn't even eat them. He charged full price and offered no apology. My server said that was the second time that someone complained about the shrimp that day, and his response was the same. He didn't even offer an alternative option. Has anyone else noticed the trend toward these seafood restaurants where they do the 'boil in the bag' concept? To me it's a take off on the low country boil or crawfish boils down Louisiana Way. It's usually shrimp and something else, like crawfish, sausage or crab. I checked this place out today for lunch and found it was just OK. For lunch they have a special where you get a half pound each of shrimp & crawfish and includes a potato and corn on the cob. The shrimp were OK size, the crawfish were tiny. A small potato and small piece of corn on the cob. It was disappointing. The service was good and the price was OK but I doubt I'll be back. read more

Boy am I glad I decided to try somewhere new for crab legs I generally love going to king crab, well come to find out the owner of king crab owns this one as well so I knew I was in for a treat . We both ordered a pound of crab legs with potatoes, and corn n the Cobb pieces with the addition of the special sauce added to the bag mixture. What's in that sauce even ? Background: in town on a work trip and was looking for something near my hotel - 15/20 min walking distance from my hotel. Order: I did the "make your own seafood combo": 1/2# Snow Crab Legs, 1/2# shrimp - no heads (order comes with one potato and one corn cob) The good: I love all things spicy and chose the "extra spicy" spice level with Cajun flavoring. The spice flavoring was very good, however, very spicy wasn't remotely hot. If you like a little heat, I'd recommend very spicy. The spicy and flavoring drenched the shrimp, in positive fashion. $10 for 12 (claims 1/2#) decent sized shrimp at a restaurant isn't bad. The potato and corn cob tasted just as good in the spicy and flavoring. The bad: $17.50 for two measly snow crab legs was a rip. All of the legs were that of a baby stork and contained almost no crab meat. To be fair, I knew choosing this as my second combo meat would more than likely be the case. All that wonderful flavor and spicy did not translate to the crabs legs. In between: you should be provided 3 of the potatoes and one more of the tiny corn cobs. Conclusion: if you're within walking distance and near your hotel, just do a full # of shrimp for $20, rather than the $27.50 I spent, and it's worth a try. read more

Huge little critters. +The customer service was excellent. +The fried calamari was okay. -The "Juicy" sauce with 'extra hot' spicy level was okay. There was no "extra" kick to it. -The snow crab legs were a bit mushy, which indicates the meat was not freshly killed. -They were unable to offer their raw oysters. -No loyalty rewards program. I didn't want to make a big deal but I was in my feelings. I love those corn and potatoes. And my Cajun seasoning was pretty good. My friend order: 1/2 crawfish, 1/2 mussels and 1/2 shrimp. Very spicy. But it came short of the seasoning. I don't eat spicy food but I can handle it.. needless to say, it's not spicy at all! and on this note: We can ONLY order 1/2 lbs at a time.. New seafood restaurant in Pineville. Located on Leitner Drive just across from the Carolina Place mall. The menu is simple with options for all types of combinations of seafood. On the menu You'll find crablegs, king, snow & dungeness. Lobster , Crawfish, shrimp & clams and more. The restaurant was open 3 days now and didn't have availability on several items they advertised as menu items. That was to me a big miss. The biggest issue I had was upscale seafood prices with no class utensils and plates. Plastic forks and knives served on styrofoam plates was what you're given to eat on. The food came in a baggie steamed. Served on a metal round tray. I chose the seafood combination which gave you the choice of two seafoods and came with a small corn and three small potatoes. You choose your sauce for the food to be cooked in. I chose garlic butter on the side. There was a bucket and cracker to crack the crablegs and a bib and gloves if you felt you needed them. The amount of food served was minimal. So be prepared to pay 30 bucks a person and then you may still be hungry. Another fun fact was the music. Loud and what I found annoying was it was rap then followed by Alvin & the chipmunks singing Christmas songs.. Really wierd. I can't say it was great cause it wasn't . The crab legs were hard to get out of the shell and there was no metal fork to assist. Only a plastic fork that broke immediately. Maybe it will get better but for that price I'd probably find better options. read more

we did the all you could eat 39.99$ deal. the food was AMAZING! you have to try the hush puppies by far the best ones i have ever eaten. the 90 minute limit is kind of wild to me (you have to eat all your food within 90 minutes or you get charged by the pound of what you have left over). our waitress tried to say we only had 35 minutes left when in reality we still had almost an hour...MAKE SURE you keep your tickets that are on your bags of seafood they bring out. it tells what time your "timer" starts. the only reason i'm giving 4 stars is because our waitress was kind of mid...had to beg for drink and our buckets filled up rather fast and she only changed it after we had to ask. otherwise, the food was 10/10. read more
