Once you find it, though, you'll be glad you did. This spot combines two of my favorite things: decadent desserts + a legit full bar. Whoever came up with this concept deserves a medal. What I had: Raspberry Almond Cake - 5/5. Moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The almond balanced the raspberry perfectly, and the slice was massive. Sharing is optional, but I didn't. ;) Chocolate Chip Cookie - 5/5. Giant, warm, and delicious. It had that perfect chewy-meets-crispy texture, and thankfully wasn't dry (a common downfall for oversized cookies). Old Fashioned - 5/5. Honestly, one of the best I've had anywhere. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and strong. I wasn't expecting cocktail game this good at a dessert spot; pleasantly surprised! They've only been open about three months, and I really hope more people discover them because this concept is so good. A cute, cozy vibe, amazing desserts, and strong cocktails? Yes, please. Do yourself a favor: find this place.

The smoke from the kitchen basically consumed the dining area and was very irritating. It eventually dissipated after a while, but I wouldn't recommend infants in this environment. After our party was seated, it took 15-20 min before our waiter greeted us and provided water; that was a bit annoying. After we got our orders in, things were smooth sailing from there. We were a large party and our waiter did a pretty good job at managing us and all of our requests. Food: they do not waste time bringing the food out. Most of our orders came out within 10 minutes! I ordered the Short Rib (unfortunately not pictured). It was hot, tender, and seasoned well....very good. It came on a bed of rice and some type of sauce. I was not a fan of either. The rice seemed uncooked and the sauce was too much and very liquid. It drowned the rice and practically made it soupy. I would have been fine with just the short rib. I also ordered a side of black eyed peas... also not a fan. It was undercooked and I didn't love whatever seasoning was used to prepare it. Other items I tried: Fries, Cornbread, Yams, and Soul Rolls. These were all tasty, specifically the soul roll. It came out crispy, hot, and stuff proportionately. I could take every bit of what was inside. It's definitely a must try.

The service was excellent, the smoky dry ice upon arrival was a hit along with the warm towels to clean our hands. The chef even walked around greeting guests. The restaurants decor is classic cotton club era, cute and classy but also has tvs mounted playing classic shows. The ambiance is casual. The menu prices could be adjusted downward but it was a nice experience. I'd recommend if you're in the mood for soul food. The sweet potato cornbread was the best!

My husband ordered the loaded enchiladas and thoroughly enjoyed them too. We were greeted and sat immediately, our server was very attentive and kind, and our food came out HOT and fresh! The salsa is always good, they give you a green and red, we opted for queso too, a good yellow queso that actually tastes like cheese. At one point there were 2 music situations happening (restaurant nusic PLUS jukebox maybe?) that was overstimulated but I think staff picked up on it and turned one off. We will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. We were there for almost 2 hours and still hadn't even been able to place a food order. The restaurant seemed completely unprepared for such a busy holiday. They ran out of dishes and had to switch to plastic ware, and my husband's drink was served in a red Solo cup. What made the experience even worse was the DJ setup. The speakers were enormous and the music was turned up so loud it felt more like being inside a nightclub than a restaurant. I enjoy music and a fun atmosphere, but not at a volume where you can't relax, talk, or enjoy dinner comfortably. It became so uncomfortable that I actually had to leave and come back later to pick up my husband and friend after they finally received their food. Sadly, I never even got to eat dinner that night. Cinco de Mayo is a major event every year, so there was plenty of time to prepare for the crowd and overall experience. I truly hope management takes customer feedback seriously -- especially about the excessive volume level. A lively atmosphere is great, but customers should still be able to enjoy their meal comfortably

The host greeted us and personally brought us to our seats, and the service throughout the evening was good. The owner even stopped by our table, which was a nice touch. We ordered our meal along with a bottle of wine and were enjoying the experience. When our steak arrived, it wasn't cooked to our preference, but they were happy to take it back and correct it. The fries, unfortunately, were extremely salty. And this is coming from someone who actually likes salty food! They were so salty that they were difficult to eat. We mentioned it to our server, and they kindly replaced them. The second batch was much better. I was a little surprised to see the fries still included on the bill. I certainly don't expect items to automatically be removed whenever there's an issue, especially since they did replace them, but considering the first serving was essentially inedible, removing the charge would have been a thoughtful gesture and a nice way to acknowledge the inconvenience. Overall, there were definitely things we enjoyed about the restaurant--the atmosphere is charming, the service was attentive, and everyone was welcoming. There were just a couple of details with the food and how the situation was handled that kept the experience from being as great as it started. For us, dining out isn't just about the food--it's also about the overall experience and feeling that our business is valued. While there were several things we enjoyed about this restaurant, this experience fell a little short in that regard. Because of that, I don't think this will be a place we choose to return to, but I do appreciate the warm atmosphere and the attentive service we received.
